The other salon is called Glamour. I asked for cover my roots and do highlights on the same tones i had, even show pictures of what i wanted, after 3 hours of one lady doing my hair i saw what she was doing was making no sense at all i conplained few times but the guy kept telling me she was doing it "old style" as she was old, finally they had to call a hairdresser from the main salon to try and fix my hair as they saw the lady couldn't do much(put color on my roots i am talking,is not even hard work). 5 hours i spent in the salon and they left me in worst conditions than I come in! They charged me only for products used..the should of paid me for what they have done to my hair and after all the guy was saying he is professional.... i will post pictures of how they left my hair for people to understand, I normally do not complain about a human mistake as we all can have but this is over the level, playing with people hair with a hairdresser that doesn't even know how to put a piece of foil in the hair is inaceptable! I would NOT recommend this salon at all, they ruined my hair then called another one to put a darker color in my roots and expect me to be happy....i am really frustrated and i doubt that the lady who did my hair has even done a course on how to apply color in someone's hair... from 0-10 i will give -10

Nine months and four hair appointments later, I need to write an update! I'll just hit the…read morehighlights: July 2013: I came to the salon to get waist-long senegalese twist for the summer. I was writing my dissertation and I couldn't be bothered with doing my hair everyday. Rita (I believe that's her name), came in especially do my twists. They looked AHHH-mazing! Not to sound conceited, but I received compliments everywhere I went. My total came to £90, which is more expensive that other London braiding salons. However, the quality definitely made it worth it. September 2013: My hair is natural, and I've come to the point where I'm no longer interested in wearing straight or wavy weaves. As someone told me, "you can't be Indian in the front and African in the back!" But I still like weave/extensions. So, I started wearing afro kinky weave. I asked Hannah, the owner of Honey Hand, if she had ever installed a weave like that. She hadn't, but she was confident that she would be able to install it as a versatile weave so that I could wear ponytails. Versatile weaves cost £70. I went in for my appointment, but the salon was overbooked and understaffed. After waiting for TWO hours, I walked out pissed (hence the star rating decrease). I rebooked my appointment for later in the week, and luckily Hannah was able to complete my sew-in. However, she (nor anyone else at the salon) is not familiar with natural hair care. I'm not entirely sure how one can manages a black/afro hair salon and not know how to treat our hair in its natural state! This lack of knowledge also contributed to the 4-star rating. Anyways, I simply asked her to comb the weave out into an afro and I did a twist-out when I got home. It looks amazing! Two months later, and I'm still getting showered with compliments from people I know and complete strangers (I promise I'm not vain!). You can find a picture in my profile.

Absolutely pathetic customer service!…read more Never have I witnessed such an unprofessional, incompetent and outright shocking service. I'd been getting my hair done here for a good number of years until a time when I went in and experienced an extremely bad service from Hannah. This deterred my from going there until last year when I decided to give it a try again. I went in today to have a weave and closure fixed and had emailed Hannah prior (an email she unprofessionally failed to acknowledge) Got in there and she quite rudely said she's busy with other customers hair and her simply fixing my closure (which shouldn't take more than 10 minutes) would delay her. I informed her I'd rather she did as that's why I came in. She went ahead rushed and VERY BADLY attached the closure. I informed her the closure wasn't straight and if she could adjust it. What happens afterwards was MARVELLING! She stopped, raised her voice, demanded no one got involved and purported to talk at me in a very demeaning way. This followed with her REFUSING to fix the closure (a closure she had already taken out) asking me to leave! A truly uncomfortable experience and not one I'd ever again want to be in! Hannah, you need to acquire and learn BASIC customer service! You lack the professionalism, competency and tact when dealing with customers! You are arrogant, pompous and condescending! With this attitude, your business won't hold up much longer!! Makes sense why all your staff left and why the salon is frequently empty! You are a poor excuse for a business owner!

I have to say I was originally dubious....wondering...really...is something so outwardly crying its trendiness that good? Pleased to say, yes, they are that good. Andy is absolutely wonderful. Soft speaking, engaging without being too chatty....he approached the haircut like a small project and talked through what I wanted, what he suggested, and took me through every step of the process with the gentlest of touches. I was utterly pleased with the results. The fringe, the fringe: perfectly clipped in a gorgeous little box shape. Thrilled. The salon itself is quite industrial/bare chic, which I think works well here. Concrete, high ceilings, big windows with lots of light. Good quality speakers putting out some satisfying mid-tempo music....deffo a big plus in my book. Makes you feel as if you are there to be transformed into something fresh and new, not the same ol' thang again and again. And even if it is the same old haircut, somehow they manage to make it seem fresh. You can book online but I called over the phone, which worked just fine. I've been searching for a new hairdressers for a while, and will be returning.

I came in and was greeted by stylist Aimee and went through what I was looking to have done. She checked out my hair and we went through some pictures I had. She explained to me that due to my hair 'type' there were risks in trying to achieve the Grey/Silver colour that I was aiming for (which I did mention over the phone). She went through some alternative options and asked what I thought about a purple tint but that was not what I wanted. After being persistent with the colour I wanted to achieve she suggested we take a hair sample to see how my hair would take. She walked off to what I assumed to get the bleach and do a test. She returned and said that she had a chat with Andy stylist and thought it be best to get him opinion as he was considered the 'colour guru' with plenty of experience. This gave me a bit more hope that it was achievable. Andy came along and asked me what I was trying to achieve as I explained he almost cut me short and rolled his eyes and told me that as Aimee explained it is difficult to achieve this colour due to my 'ethnic background' and then told me that he didn't want to use that as the reason but basically he did! He then told me that 'if' I was willing firstly 'commit' to the 'looong' process then they will 'give it a go' pretty much all said half heartedly and trying to shove me out the door. He told me that the initial bleach would take 'hours' and that I would have to leave the salon with blonde hair and come back after 12 weeks to achieve the grey/silver. To be honest this did not make sense to me but he made me feel so dumb I didn't ask him why it would take so long and that after 12 weeks I would have grown roots????? After he told me that my ethnic background may prevent me from getting the grey/silver he then told me that all the pictures I showed him were 'fake' and 'probably wigs'. I then asked if he could achieve the bronze/blonde as seen on Sierra the singer he did not hesitate to tell me that it was a weave. He advised me to not watch youtube videos as they had been edited and are probably fake if there was an Asian person with grey/silver hair?? And that I need to search for hair colour 'suitable' for Asian hair. To top it all off Aimee then cut a chunk of my hair off to test the bleach to see if my hair would 'take'- which I was given no warning about and 2 1/2 weeks later I have still not heard anything. Not sure what to call this guys but if you are of 'colour' and want anything but black hair then don't bother. Guess I can thank Bluetit for not charging me for the consultation and cutting a chunk of my hair off for testing with no results. I would like Bluetit to know that they did an outstanding job on stamping on my self esteem and confidence. I came to enquire on hair colour and left insulted. Have sent a complaint to head office and been promised to be in contacted but nothing nothing as I have still not heard anything. No words to express how disappointed I am... worse overall customer experience ever.... Here at Blue Tit's London Hairdressers we believe a haircut should be an experience, not just a transaction. (For real??? This will be an experience i will not forget).
