We also knew that we wanted to have the kind of wedding that requires a lot of preparation, but that we didn't want have wedding planning become second jobs for us. We tried out a couple wedding planners, and eventually we sat down with Laura. She methodically worked with us on how to turn all the things we like and care about and that unite as a couple into a wonderful and perfect wedding -- and helped us organize it all into manageable chunks with a clear timeline. We started our wedding planning with Laura and Olivia, and eventually when Laura went on maternity leave we stayed with Olivia for the rest of our journey. Each had their own personal touches and ways of working, but both were incredibly professional, helpful, and organized. We often showed up to meetings knowing the general vibes that we wanted, not necessarily specifics or even how to express those "vibes", and Laura and Olivia turned those into concrete vendors, choices, and timelines. In the end, we made it through planning without it ever feeling like a second job, and we were in a great position to enjoy the most perfect wedding we could imagine: a big party with all our favorite people, and all our favorite things, celebrating what we love most about each other. More on the big day: Olivia and team managed the day exceptionally well. Everything was in place without us ever having to worry about a single thing. The day was fun and light, from getting dressed and having photos taken all over the city, all the way through the end of the night. Throughout the day, we kept getting asked how we found our amazing venue, caterers, photographer, DJ, florist... the list goes on. Each and every one of them was recommended by Laura. She did a great job of recommending a few vendors that she knew and trusted that fit with our vision for our wedding day, and each one of them did a phenomenal job. Our food was delicious, our music was a hit, and the decorations were beautiful, and we weren't worried at all on the day. Days and weeks after the wedding, we're still a little shocked: we knew this would be a party with our favorite people and favorite things, but even we didn't expect the end result to be so much fun.

Hiring Fierce productions was the best decision we could have made. We interviewed a few wedding planners and we were impressed by Laura. During our consultation she actively listened to our vision and put it into words to help us understand what our day would entail. My husband and I had no idea what we were doing when we embarked on this process. We had a general vision, but did not know how to pull it together. We had several design meetings and after each meeting Laura left us feeling confident that everything was going to come together. Laura has a great sense for design and event planning. I feel like she can see into the future and predict flaws, prevent them and execute our vision. The day of our wedding we were calm because Laura checked all the boxes, literally! She was able to command the room, and still put us at ease so we could enjoy our day. Our day had a few tiny setbacks but Laura did what she could to make it right. The most impressive feat was the timeline. We had a very detailed timeline and Laura and her team made sure we covered everything. She handled unforeseen issues with ease. Paris312 sent me a link so I could track the delivery in real time. Such a nice way to not worry. When I finally got to see them in real life, I was blown away. Yes these are high end balloons and wow do you get what you pay for. The custom balloon with my sisters name on it was HUGE and make the vibe perfect for the entrance. Sent an email was told they'd get back to me with a proposal, missed their own deadline. Sent another email to Nicole: "really don't appreciate the unprofessionalism. No response to my 2 internal request for a quote, I have to email you. Then your own deadline isn't met." Then Nicole asked me question some that I already answered in my initial requests. Clearly, no attentiveness or attention to detail. Sent me their basic cookie cutter event stuff. I didn't want their cookie cutter display stuff from their website. I wanted a quote for something unique. I answered her email questions then an Ali responses saying "Nicole is out of the office until Monday." She went on to tell me "12 days is enough for us to accommodate your requests." I don't think they could handle my request. As Nicole previously stated, "I sincerely apologize for the delay and completely understand your frustration. You're right that I had given you a timeline, and I'm sorry that I wasn't able to meet it or communicate the delay with you sooner. We are currently in the height of our busiest season, and our response and proposal lead times have unfortunately been longer than usual. That being said, I should have kept you updated rather than leaving you waiting. I am working on your decks and will have it over to you today. I really appreciate your patience and apologize again for the frustrating experience." I asked for the CEO, or person in charge of the business, and I was ignored. After attending a student showcase one of our friends was in, my maid of honor organized a private…read moreclass for my bachelorette party here! It was a blast! We went to their studio Saturday afternoon around 12:30 and brought in mimosas before we began at 1pm. The class was about an hour and a half from what I can remember. We opted to learn a mini routine for fun. Our group had about 8 girls in total. Red hot Annie led the class, she was full of energy, positive, kept a great pace, and did an excellent job explaining the various dance moves. We would learn portions of the dance and then practice the whole thing to music. We really liked the song selected and the routine! It was prefect for a bachelorette party. Overall it was a fun unique activity to do to get everyone out of their comfort zones. A few girls were worried about feeling uncomfortable but everyone was able to quickly get really into it and feel open to fully embrace it! It was a great activity to start the day and get everyone talking! I would highly recommend for bachelorette parties!!! I'm definitely going to look into taking workshops since I'm tight on time right now but I'd also look into taking classes with Red Hot Annie again!

JEEZY'S JUKE JOINT, AN AFRICAN-AMERICAN BURLESQUE SHOW…read more Loved Jeezy's Juke Joint, an all African-American Burlesque Show!. So much fun, not to mention somewhat educational. :) I enjoyed the MC, Jeez Loueez'. Got a kick out of her crazy humor and her ability to roll with the punches. The eclectic styles of burlesque that the ladies performed were very entertaining and some were more unique than others. I had never seen an all African-American cast of performers of burlesque and this was a real treat. I liked some more than others, but they all did their "thang" and did it in a way that made me feel they loved their craft. Can't be shy here. This is a very sexy show. I loved the campiness of some of the performers and it quite cool seeing slender and "healthier" ladies perform. There was something for everyone. MC Monty and his dancers did a dance number to his rap. Holliwood Monroe can really blow. She has a great set of pipes. Loved her voice. There was a male and a female drag performer, Shea Coulee and Switch the boi wonder. I've been around the block, but I was still enlightened. Among my personal favorites were Coco DuPree's interpretation of Isaac Hayes' song, "Do Your Thing". Her hot 1970's "Foxy Brown/Pam Grieresque" costume, complete with black faux fur jacket and train covering her red with black zebra stripe hotpants ensemble, topped off with a big red fan pick in her "fro" was so "right on" point. Reminiscent of Angela Davis. That girl knows she CAN move! Make no mistake, she did her thang. The girl was "baaaad" and her moves were tight. Praline DuPree's 1950's poodlelicious outfit and spirited dance routine were big fun. She was classy, spunky and coquettish all rolled into one. She had great charisma with a lovely hint of southern Louisiana charm. Horchata Dentata is one strong, tall woman who had some intense control on "the pole". She made it look easy. I expected to see a more petite woman, but I was so impressed with her strength and confidence. I ain't mad at her, no sireee. Foxy LaFeelion did a wonderful 1920's style dance and her costume was beautiful with its many layers. Marz Timms, the comic, was very funny. He cracked me up. I enjoyed Star Dixon's incredible tap dancing and the talent of "Shea Coulee", the rather rhythmic and stylish female impersonator. He definitely worked it for us. All in all, there were about 17 performers and they were all marvelous. They came in all shapes and sizes, which was refreshing to see. It was plain to see that everyone in the theater was having a good ol' time and tappin' their feet. Lots of whoopin' and hollerin' was goin' on. After seeing this show, I wanted to run out and buy some pasties and a red "Wonder" bra.
