My dog had cancer, we had to come in on a Sunday for an emergency euthanasia, as he couldn't wait…read moretill his upcoming in-house appointment with a hospice care vet. I called ahead to make sure he wouldn't have to wait, I expressed how he was currently really agitated and I didn't want him to be stressed out for long. They said to me on the phone that the hospital didn't have a lot of critical cases at the time so it would be a good time to come. We ended up having to wait almost a total of 3 hours. Benny (my dog) was really distressed, as the nature of his tumour was making him leak urine. He couldn't settle at all. We politely asked how much longer and were told there were a lot of critical patients. I understand these things happen, so we asked if he could be sedated. Told to wait to see tech. Nothing. Had to pester again, finally saw the tech. Had to keep asking for sedation because he was so upset and that isn't how i wanted him to go. Finally got through to the vet and things were a lot more peaceful. The vet and tech staff were great at this point and very understanding through the actual euthanasia process. When filling out the aftercare forms, I asked for private cremation, paw print and nose print. We were told that the clinic DID a paw print and nose print and we could wait for it to dry or it would be safe to pick it up when the cremation remains were sent back to the clinic. When we picked up the cremation remains, no paw print or nose print. Called them back, they told us there was nothing there. I'm absolutely devastated. I can understand how this may seem like misplaced grief, but, seriously. Why tell me you COMPLETED the paw and nose print and then somehow not have it a week later? If they lost it or it was damaged, I would've asked the cremation company to do it. The whole reason I DIDN'T ask the cremation company, was because they said it was done. When we called, we were dismissed just with a "I didn't see anything and I'm the one who put everything together" - it mostly looked like Gateway put everything together and they just had to put it in a bag. I understand vets and techs are under a lot of stress, and it's a difficult job. They have my respect. I understand this isn't their primary concern. But if you can't keep track of things like this, don't offer that service. This is extremely upsetting for me. This was something that was meaningful to me I was hoping to use it for a shadow box and other memorization. I don't have many clear photos of his nose print or really any photos of his paw print.

My cat needed dental surgery and I was dreading the visit because all vets EXCEPT Royal Parkside start off with "but first we have to have a health checkup." It's too expensive, and as a result, my pet suffered unnecessarily until I found Royal Parkside Animal Hospital. The staff were pleasant, helpful and frankly, better than some of the human doctors I've dealt with recently. The follow up was AMAZING! Dr. Patel was helpful, not pushy and give me a quote that he actually stuck with. This is what you expect from professionals. I would highly recommend Royal Parkside Animal Hospital to anyone in need of a valuable, excellent veterinarian.

I left my cat and dog for a week while on a trip south. When I picked them up they where happy and had been well cared for. We plan to go away again in the next couple of weeks and will be using this hotel again. The cat room has nice sized spaces for each cat with its own window, multi layer seats for the cat, a bridge for the to walk from the floor to the top seat and a little door to their own outdoor space which is open only during the summer months. They let the cat out too roam around various times threw the day and seems to really give them individual attention. The dogs also have their own rooms with a off the floor bed and a doggy dog which is opened about 5x per day. Well worth the drive up from Toronto!!! Update to my review as of Sept 2016 Both my cat and dog came home from a weeks stay with upper respiratory infections. They were fully vaccinated before their visit.
