I would not hesitate to recommend this Animal hospital who wants the best care , professional…read moreservice , gifted doctors & a loving caring staff. I have had 3 dogs in their care over the years & hands down the best clinic in Barrie. Dr Cornell has high standards for customer service and the best of care , and one can feel your pet will receive exemplary care and lots of love. It's not often that you find a community of experienced, like minded pet lovers that are in this profession for all the right reasons. You can't put a price on that level of peace of mind.

I went to Aldergrove Animal Clinic in October 2025 for a senior dog exam and was charged over $640…read morein total, far higher than other clinics for the same tests. The pricing and lab fees were not clearly explained in advance. The urine test showed possible contamination, yet I was told to pay again: either $174 +for a urine culture or $61+ for an antibiotic trial. After spending so much, I still received no clear diagnosis. I also received what was described as "dietary advice," which was simply the name of one commercial dog food brand and a partner store website. When I raised my concerns, Dr. Cornell, replied with an unprofessional tone, even saying "Shame on you" in an email. This was extremely disappointing and not the level of professionalism I expected. I hope this feedback helps others make informed decisions before visiting this clinic.

I was given the recommendation to go here by a fellow dog owner and I saw that there were good reviews so I made the decision to take Bonzo here to get neutered. They did a great job with the surgery. My problem was with their employees. I got a call after his pre blood work was done and was told based on his results he either was dehydrated or had kidney disease. Keep in mind he was not allowed water since the night before, but I paid the $78 extra to get a further test done. I was told if it came back that he was dehydrated we would be good to go with the surgery. The test comes back and great news! He was just dehydrated so I said go ahead and she THEN tells me that I should let them test him for Addison's disease (another $78-$100). I said no because this was not something that would conflict with the surgery plus I didn't understand why this was not brought up when they first called me with the initial results. The employee then asked me if I knew whether my dog was 100% a Bernedoodle. After I assured her that I had met his parents and he was from a breeder she kept challenging me! Said they thought he had Portuguese Water Dog in him. I told her she was wrong and she all but hung up on me. I was quite angry that this went down. Especially since my dog was about to go under for surgery. So - overall good vet but they have some serious customer service skills to work out. Also, their credibility got thrown into question over the whole Addison's disease thing. I would not recommend this clinic to someone else for these reasons.
