They replaced the battery in my Movado watch for $29.99 plus tax in less then 15 minutes. This includes a 1 year warranty. I've had other places tell me that I had to send it off to Movado because of the price level of the watch but this location completed the task within minutes at a great price. Couldn't be happier with the result. I also brought in 2 other watches over the last week or so. One dive watch required a higher end battery because of the complexity of it and another watch required the same level battery as the Movado. All watches are repaired quickly and professionally. Next week I'm even going to bring in my old Timex dive watch I used over 20 years ago while in the Navy. They told me the battery for that would be $19.99. The watch cost me about $35.- years ago but it's worth it for sentimental value. Make sure you use the 10% off Yelp coupon that pops up when you check in to save a few dollars. One of those purchases was a diamond ring my mother bought as an investment for her children. She paid $12,000 for it and later received an appraisal from the seller valuing the ring at $63,000. After my mother's passing, I reviewed her documents and found the paperwork associated with the diamond. When I looked up the GIA inscription on the paper the diamond had been wrapped in, I discovered the stone was lab‑created, not natural as she was told and thought it was. Concerned about this and the unusually high appraisal, we contacted the store. Max reiterated that the diamond was real, stated it had belonged to his wife, and encouraged me to obtain another appraisal--offering to cover the cost. I obtained an independent appraisal, which confirmed that the stone was lab‑created (GIA certification engraved on the diamond) and valued between $3,500 and $5,000 on the open market. When we attempted to discuss this with Max, he declined to buy back the ring for the original purchase price--despite past verbal assurances that any item sold could be bought back for the amount paid. He stated he would only offer $5,000, although my mother paid $12,000. I am not making any legal conclusions, but I want potential customers to be aware of our experience. If you choose to purchase here, I strongly recommend having items independently evaluated before finalizing a transaction. He was chatting with Leonard about his projects, and having a good time distracting him from getting his work done, I'm sure, but Leonard was very nice and answered all of his questions. He told us how he makes jewelry and about his different tools, which was fun to learn about. While we were there, Leonard pointed out how delicate my ring had become over the years of wear. It was very thin and starting to separate in places, so reshaping it was tricky. He showed me under a microscope where the ring was worn down. My dad got me the ring in Mexico on my 16th birthday, and I've worn it everyday since then. I'm in my 30's now, for reference...it's been on my hand for over than half of my life. My dad passed away, so I need this ring to last. I asked if he could fix it, and he did me one better: he said he could make a mold of it and create a copy, but make it a bit thicker so it would last longer. That way, I can put my prized ring somewhere safe, but still have one to wear without worrying about it breaking. I just got the new ring back today, and it's absolutely perfect! I spoke with a different owner when I went back in and she was confused as to what the situation was even though I explained it to her. I waited in order to speak to her husband. Part of the work had been left on the work bench and was not repaired. He did apologize, and finished the repair. I'd never experienced anything quite like that before.
