I was being polite when I left this review. But now I'm keeping it at 100. Owner claims to sweep the floors, since when are insects swept away from existence? That's what exterminators are for. When you offered me something to drink, I declined. Why? Same reason, u think I want to drink anything when you have bugs in your salon? Also, you were the first to open the door in the morning, yet YOU clearly stepped over the bugs. I walked in right after you. Secondly, I offered a picture to Jackie of how I wanted my haircut. A haircut I've planned for 8 months. When she asked if I liked it, I clearly responded NO. I wanted it cut at more of an angle. Did she offer to fix it? Absolutely not. No problem, then I proceed to buy $100.00 worth of products. Only to find dead baby roaches under the lid. A tight lid at that. Did I use them? Nope. Then you have the audacity to state I must have roaches. Yeah, probably the ones I brought home with me from your salon. Your products went straight to the trash. I told you I used them cause I was being POLITE. You on the other hand were very rude when I called to let you know of your roach problem. You claim to care so much about your salon and customers and that somehow I'm the liability? Is this why you were VAPING the entire time you sat at the register while hiding your vape below the cash register as if 'we' the customers didn't notice you sitting there under a cloud of smoke? How lovely to be blown smoke at during checkout. The care you have is outstanding, NOT. The American Heart Association states that: "There is evidence to suggest that e-cigarette use is associated with respiratory conditions and cardiovascular diseases,". "As more evidence becomes available, we may see that this association is causal, both for e-cigarette use and for exposure to secondhand vapor." YOU owe it to your customers to offer a clean, safe, healthy environment when entering an establishment for which we are paying for services. Is it me? Nah, it's you. Also, Jackie kept apologizing at how awful she was dressed and laughed that she literally had just rolled out of bed to come to work. Completely unprofessional and so was the way she was dressed. Esoterica has very good customer service. They really care that you are satisfied with their services. I left unhappy last time, and made the mistake of not saying anything. They had also forgotten to give me the deep conditioning treatment that was included on the group on because it wasn't booked correctly. They offered for me to come back to get the treatment and blow out with a hot tool (usually $10 upcharge). I returned for an appointment with Mercy. She was courteous, asked me if I wanted a drink (wine, beer, water), and checked with me about water temperature, pressure for the head massage, etc. She was also good at keeping the conversation going. These are all nice things, but what really made me impressed was how good my hair looked with just a blowout with a round brush. A world of difference from my first visit. Then with the use of a curling iron, my hair looked amazing! See my picture for reference (the one without the penguin). Esoterica has a deal for 4 blowouts at $89, which is pretty good. I recommend spending the extra $10 to use a hot tool for extra volume. I highly recommend getting a blowout with Mercy. SUMMARY: Overpriced and inexperienced staff who are just starting out. Not recommended for men's styling. STYLISTS: They're all very young (mid twenties) and seem to focus mostly on color. Stylist One performed a Keratin treatment ($60) which did not take at all. Stylist Two was asked for a regular haircut ($50) with emphasis on a tapered fade. There was No taper and now I have to wait for it to grow out in order for my regular stylist to correct it. COMPARISON: Came here looking for something better than the hassle of Floyd's 99 shop and got results on par with Supercuts. I literally booked a flight and am flying back to Costa Mesa, CA in two weeks to get this corrected from an experienced stylist who charges half of what this place does. I'm fortunate enough to be able to do that, but not everyone is - so gents, save your money and do Not come here. read more

I went about a week ago and I went for hair color and a hair cut. I asked for purple in the front of my hair (the whole front bangs part) and I wanted the rest of my hair a purple tint. Although I do have some purple in my hair in the front it's not as much as I would have wanted. And the rest of my has absolutely no tint my hair is fully black (my natural hair color). I basically paid $250 for a cut and a couple of streaks of purple in the front :( very very dissatisfied I could have done this a. Customer service I did not have any issues which is why I am giving 3 stars. Updating because the purple that I did have is now gone and it looks brown & like I only have bleach in my hair. And it has only been about week and 3 days. Sad that I have to spend more money to get my hair fixed :/ I do not recommend this place. read more

Very upset with the results of my granddaughters hair color. Nothing like the picture Cara was shown. Katy had done her hair previously and it was awesome so she showed that picture for the color. It turned out a very bright bluish purple. I complained and told we'd have to wait for someone to try to fix it. Mercy did the best she could to tone it down. To top things off, we were there 5 1/2 hrs and still had to pay for this fiasco. We left with lighter purple hair but still not what we expected. I've been going here about a 1-1/2 yrs and Katy was out and not able to do our hair. My hair turned out ok with Christy but my granddaughter is nervous about being made fun off at school. She's a freshman and kids can be brutal. Her Mom was nice about what it looks like, but she can't believe they charged us. I had a good experience here. I did have to come back and the owner fixed my hair cut. I have short hair and paid a lot for the keratin which I wasn't happy with as I saw it did nothing for my hair so I wasn't happy with that. Because they were great about fixing my hair I am not too unhappy. The Owner really knows how to do hair. Cost was extreme for me and I wasn't 100% happy with it so I wouldn't come back. But that's not to say that with long hair and hair coloring this might be he place for you. Thanks for fixing the hair cut. Prices were too higher for he keratin, I was very disappointed but they didn't refund or compensate back. Luckily, Jacky ( my amazing Stylist) was able to get me in on Friday as her last client. I was a first-time client today at the salon. I arrived at opening and the owner and my stylist made me feel very welcome from the moment I walked through the door. I did have a short wait of about 15 minutes, but that is only because the original stylist I was scheduled with could not make it in for my appointment. Baylee decided to take care of me with no hesitation and she was available. It was very comforting to know that they cared enough to still make me feel special and to take care of my requests under the circumstances. Ale even jumped in when necessary when the time came for Baylee's other clients to have their appointments with her. I never once felt like I was put to the side are not as important as the other clients. That really meant so much to me. They went beyond my expectation and match the hair color that I wanted and the cut and style.
