Cute shop on Magazine. Stopped in while visiting from South Carolina. I bought a few pairs of earrings, and it was hard to decide because there were so many that were cute. I will definitely be back.

I had two key words to go off of: tea and candles. Hmmmmm.... I had my friend Eric tell me about The Collective Shop a few months back when he bought some prints and I obsessed about them at his house. I was told it had recently opened on Magazine Street (this was around Halloween) and it was not only #blackowned but #womanowned and #opentoall ! *sold* I had this ace in my pocket for a while now but wanted a reason to shop for someone else, besides myself, and have a proper visit to explore and shop. I'm notorious for buying gifts for myself then as I'm in my car realized that I needed to shop for whatever the occasion was for. The shop is so stinking cute and is about 2-3 blocks away from Drink Beauty. Honestly, I love taking a stroll on Magazine Street and just basking in the ambiance. Once I found the cute little shop, I made my way in and fell in love at first sight. Had the chance to meet Alysia, one of the owners and she showed me around. I had asked her if they offer shipping and they do if you hit a certain threshold. WINNING I mentioned about my secret mission and wanted to make sure this could be sent incognito. She was super awesome and handled the details once I provided the address. I even left the items there since I needed computer access to her address. They have their own loose leaf tea and were super informative on which ones work with alternative milks and best for chai lattes. What won me over though were their #vegan candles which Alysia and Toni make in-house! I took a few sniffs and selected my fave two scents. The smaller ones were $8 a pop and the larger ones were around $14. You can find tons of knick knacks around here and make sure to ask which items are made in-house. Really loved my experience here and this shop implements COVID-19 safety practices! I snagged my secret santa gift for a little over $30 and left with a huge smile on my face. I hope CM Anne F. likes it just as much when it arrives to her doorstep.

Think of it as an art fair without the pressure--no hovering artists or awkward small talk. Just beautifully displayed works from small, independent makers. It's an introvert's dream and a perfect place to find souvenirs that aren't basic or mass-produced. The selection is incredible: * Handmade jewelry * Local art prints and stickers * Bags, shirts, and fridge magnets * And a constantly rotating mix of other unique finds There's no singular aesthetic or theme, which is part of the charm--you're bound to find something that speaks to you personally. I didn't take any photos out of respect for the artists, but trust me when I say you'll find something special here. Zèle is the kind of place you'll want to keep to yourself, but you also can't help telling everyone about. Whether you're shopping for gifts or just want something more meaningful than a Cafe Du Monde mug, this is the place.
