Staff coming to work late around 15 to 45 minutes late about everyday and leaving when and as they wish; no repercussions for it preferential treatment to the point it affecting job performance and team work. Managers cursing/ inappropriately yelling at staff. executive director expecting and demanding medtechs pass medicines and complete all treatments (insulin, eye drops, creams, bandages, etc) in a certain amout of time which results in med techs giving wrong medicines and documenting med errors. Staff does not have appropriate training and there is terrible communication skills. Managers do not encourage and do not support their team towards quality work or having proper resources to do thier job properly. the marketing and the executive director too busy riding in their tesla putting up a front and saving face, yet cannot be professionals and respectful to be a good example for staff or other managers; let alone focus on the issues at hand. Priorities right!!!!????Definitely Incompetent! Always short staffed, residents waiting over an hour just to use the bathroom. Residents falling a lot, which results in injuries where family has been suing this place for couple years now. Rumors about building being shut down/ sold out which is a concern for job security/ lay offs. The owner and executive director bluntly denying it, and lying to residents and familiesno wellness director (nurse) in the building. care givers sleeping instead of actually care giving. medtechs are overworked: expected to care give without extra compensation or support. kitchen staff expected to care give, again without any extra compensation or proper training. family members yelling and cursing at staff especially medtechs regarding concerns that managers should be handling. some care givers sitting around on their phones majority of the shift, not working properly or working as a team. Care director does not manage the department well, instead blames and puts more responsibility on other staff (kitchen and medtechs). the medication department is terribly functioning (if you could call it that) without a manager. Working in this community is highly toxic, mentally draining and physically unhealthy and demanding. if you're sick, managers don't care, they will demand you to still work and expect you to find coverage for yourself. doesn't matter how much notice you give for request time off, don't plan on any vacations, your requests will be denied without any reason or acknowledgement unless you are kissing up. This community doesn't acknowledge, doesn't respect good, honest hard working staff. If you're friends with the managers/ kiss up to one or all of them than you will be rewarded, Otherwise you're going to be very unhappy and miserable at this job; which barely pays what you're worth. DO NOT MOVE YOUR FAMILY MEMBER IN AND PLEASE DO NOT WORK HERE!!!!! Yahoo Mail: Search, Organize, Conquer

We are so grateful for the exceptional care Mom receives at Jazba. At 86 years old, she is…read morephysically healthy and remarkably fit -- her main challenges are related to memory. After three years of living with me, it became clear that Mom needed a higher level of structure, supervision, and social interaction than I could consistently provide at home. I began an extensive search, exploring nearly 40 different care options -- everything from large assisted living and memory care communities to smaller, private board-and-care homes specializing in dementia care. I asked tough questions about caregiver-to-resident ratios, staff turnover, nutrition, movement, music, routines, and social engagement. Jazba quickly rose to the top and became the gold standard by which I compared all other options. Here's why: A Warm, Homelike Environment: Each Jazba residence is a single-family home, full of light, warmth, and thoughtful design. Far from cold or clinical, they're inviting, clean, well-organized, and charming. Visitors and residents alike feel at home the moment they walk through the door. Nutritious, Family-Style Meals: Meals are prepared fresh each day and enjoyed together around the table. The menu follows the MIND diet -- rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and plant-based, high-fiber foods -- supporting both brain and overall health. Meaningful Daily Activities: Every day includes music, art, gentle exercise, fresh air, and light occupational therapy. Holidays, birthdays, and life milestones are celebrated with joy and creativity that rivals any kindergarten class -- in the best way possible. Field trips between homes build a sense of community and connection among residents. Unconditional Acceptance: Residents are met with patience, dignity, and respect -- always. Whether a story is told for the third time or a memory gets fuzzy, staff respond with kindness and compassion. This culture of acceptance extends to everyone in the home. After just a month at Jazba, my mom began speaking to me with more warmth and tenderness than I remember from my youth -- a transformation that still moves me deeply. Compassionate, Competent Care: The staff are not only incredibly kind, they're highly capable and organized. Detailed records are maintained for every resident, which allows them to tailor care and keep families and medical providers well-informed. Whole-Person Support: What sets Jazba apart is their commitment to the whole person -- not just the diagnosis. My mother is a lifelong Seventh-day Adventist, and her faith is central to her identity. I worried about how she'd feel when she couldn't attend church regularly. Jazba didn't miss a beat: the team helped arrange transportation when possible, and on Saturdays when she couldn't go, they streamed the service on the big TV so she and other residents could participate together. When I visited later that day, I found them making crafts and listening to uplifting music. It was beautiful. Connection and Communication: Every week, I receive text messages and photos of Mom -- laughing, doing light housework (which she adores), creating art, or exercising with others. She's been at Jazba for four months now, and I can honestly say: this is the happiest I've seen her in over a decade.

The meals were served graciously and always smelled and looked delicious. The med techs were helpful w arranging medical transport when needed. There were many opportunities for outings to stores, restaurants, and field trips. There were activities and visiting musicians, animals, speakers, etc. Eventually my aunt required the memory care setting and we were able to move her to a room on that side. The staff there was caring and warm. There is room for walking, a leafy inner courtyard, and appropriate art, music and exercise activities offered to residents. As my aunt needed hospice, she was cared for, fed, kept clean and tended to with compassion. It cannot be an easy job, caretaking, yet the staff managed to be loving and warm. The facility is in the process of being updated. In my observation over my aunt's time there, I see constant effort to provide a fine home for those in need of assistance.

If you are considering placing a loved one at Greenhaven Estates, I strongly encourage you to…read moreresearch the facility carefully and consider all available information before making a decision. According to publicly reported court records and news coverage, the facility was previously involved in a wrongful-death lawsuit involving a 100-year-old resident who wandered outside from memory care and later died from hypothermia. A Sacramento jury reportedly awarded significant damages to the resident's family. Information about that case is publicly available and worth reviewing when evaluating the facility. Separately, my family had our own experience with the facility while my aunt lived there for nearly two years. During that time, we personally observed several issues that concerned us. At one point my aunt experienced a fall in her apartment and, based on what she and our family were told, she remained on the floor for several hours before assistance arrived. Afterward, there was still visible blood on the flooring that, from what we could see, had not been properly cleaned. Two months ago my aunt suffered a stroke and had to be transferred to a higher-level care facility. Her partner still lived in their two-bedroom apartment, so rent continued to be paid while we worked through the transition. When family members returned later to collect my aunt's belongings, we found that the bathroom had not been cleaned since she left. There was still waste in the toilet that appeared to have been there for an extended period of time. Seeing that condition was very upsetting for our family. There were also communication issues with administration regarding the required 30-day move-out notice. My father was initially told by a staff member that the notice had already been handled, but later the acting administrator told him it still needed to be submitted in writing. This created confusion and additional stress during an already difficult time for our family. While we were at the facility removing my aunt's belongings, we had an uncomfortable interaction with a staff member. The tone of the interaction was confrontational, and during the exchange I was called a derogatory slur referencing my sexual orientation. That experience was extremely upsetting and not what anyone expects when dealing with a facility responsible for caring for elderly residents. Throughout the remainder of the time we were there, several staff members came by repeatedly while we were moving items, which made the situation feel tense and uncomfortable. Based on these experiences, our family ultimately decided to move our loved one to a different facility where she could receive the level of care she needs. Every family's experience may be different, but ours raised serious concerns about cleanliness, communication, and professionalism. For that reason, we are also submitting our concerns to the appropriate California oversight agencies so they can review the situation. Choosing a care facility for a loved one is an important decision. I strongly recommend visiting facilities multiple times, asking detailed questions, and reviewing public records before making a choice.
