12/12/15 Absolutely wonderful massage by Mari Lu Villegas! I will update this with more details…read morelater today. I was so relaxed that I failed to update my review until the next day. I like the small business atmosphere and warm welcome I received when I arrived. The lighting in the room was just right. It was a rainy, overcast day, which was perfect. Mari Lu paid excellent attention to areas of concern. I asked for a very firm massage and that is exactly what I received. Her techniques seemed to be up to date and she does not give you a "canned routine" type of massage. She has the ability to work very deep so know what you are asking for or you might be surprised by the pressure. I am not a fan of an oil based massage but I have to say she managed the product well. I was somewhat oily after but not as much as I have experienced with other massages where oil was used. I like that she started the massage face up. This told me right away she had her own style. I do wish I had been given an eye cover though. The table felt like it had a nice cover but no extra pad. I prefer a padded table but that is totally just a thing I like, not a necessity. She really worked my shoulders and hips, which I needed. I loved the leg/back stretches too. She added hot stones and the temperature of the stones was perfect. I liked that she left them in the palm of my hand for a short period of time too. I get a therapeutic massage every two weeks and I used to have my own massage business, so I really tune into what a therapist is doing. This lady was very, very good and I look forward to booking a massage with her again next time I am in the area. Please note that they only take cash and checks.

I asked if female masseuse could be requested and she said "I don't think we have what you are looking for." I said, "Excuse me? I just want a massage." She said then it shouldn't matter if it was a man or woman, and hung up on me, essentially accusing me of soliciting a prostitute! I imagine gender requests are pretty common in the massage industry, so one would think a receptionist would have a better way of handling someone like me who may not know a more "kosher" way of making a gender request than just asking outright. At any rate, she cost her company my business, and I got a terrific massage at their immediate competitor Elements Massage!
