I was a bit hesitant to go and get my mani/pedi but with Mother's Day celebration coming up and…read morealmost 2 months of unkept nails, I had to go and get it done. More than anything, I wanted to see how nail salons were changing and adapting due to Covid-19. I was happy to receive a confirmation text that explained the precautions they were taking and what I was to expect during my visit as a client; this put me quite se ease. They told me to have a mask on and wait in my car until they texted me to let me know my technician was ready. I'm glad I remembered my mask! I noticed that clients weren't allowed to touch nail polishes, you would point to bottle and technician would take bottles and place them at your service station. The no touching anything made me very happy. That means they are being extra cautious. My technician was also wearing gloves, a mask, and shield during the whole service. It seemed uncomfortable but definitely necessary. I was very happy with my service overall. Brenda, my nail technician was very attentive and thorough. There was a mis communication, I had booked time for a mani/pedi and told them I'd need extra time because of the condition of my nails but I was only scheduled for pedi. As soon as Brenda made them aware of the situation they did re-arrange the schedule and gave me extra time. I paid 80.00 dollars for my service and I was very pleased. Good service takes time, care, and extra attention. These ladies know how to take care of you. La Posada Spa offers CND products which I learned from my regular nail expert Michelle at Pewter Nails in Reno are the best. Thank you Brenda and thank you La Posada Spa. I will see you all again when I'm back in the area.

Extremely Disappointed - Terrible Experience with the Mother's Day Package…read more I purchased the Full-Time Mom Mother's Day package for my wife at Avalon Spa and Salon, expecting a relaxing and luxurious experience. What we got instead was a nightmare. The package included an Aromatherapy Massage, Shellac Nails, Avalon Pedicure, and "The Finale" (a conditioning treatment, shampoo, haircut, and blow-dry style). However, when my wife arrived for her scheduled appointment, she was told she was only scheduled for a haircut. How does a full spa package get reduced to just a haircut? Even worse, the haircut was so poorly done that she had to return a second time to try and fix it -- and her hair was still damaged. She has not received the aromatherapy massage to this day, and no one has followed up to reschedule or offer a solution. The nails were also a disaster. She said they looked unprofessional and believes the technicians may not be properly trained. When she tried to speak to a manager about all of this, she was told there was no manager available. This has been one of the worst customer service experiences we've ever had. For a place that advertises itself as a luxury spa, this was anything but. Unprofessional, disorganized, and a complete letdown. I absolutely do not recommend Avalon Spa and Salon.
