The bathrooms were very clean with great water temperature and pressure. There is a bike/walking trail thru the park as well. We just didn't feel the need to leave so soon, so we stayed an extra night. We were there during the week and had most of the place to ourselves. Most of the sites had reservation tags on them for the upcoming weekend. You may want to reserve a site if you'll be there for a weekend. Very nice & friendly staff.

We discovered the playground at Jacobson Plaza within the first two days here and thank goodness, because it is fantastic. There are three different play structures and even smaller play areas for even younger children. From what a local resident told me, it only opened within the last year, and you can tell. Everything is in great shape and is obviously up to every safety code. There are three of those little zip line tracks as well which, let me tell you, are fun for everyone- kids and adults. It's really cool to watch everyone play together. On the other side of a fence is the Falls, next to it is a splash pad and next to that is a Grill- all within the same safe, spacious parking lot. So when you're done playing and are hungry, check out the grill, and then across the street get some cotton candy at The Candy Cloud Factory. Your kid will love it here, and there's plenty of seats with awnings for parents (and aunts!)

From very young to a little over the hill, they all were having so much fun performing and showing what they could do. The first half of the show was meant as a demonstration and instructional type show with the announcer explaining what they were doing and what the technical terms were. It gave some of the newer skiers an opportunity to perform and get used to the nerves! He also provided background on a lot of the performers and it's amazing how many have gone on to win awards throughout the world, all starting at Catfish Bay! It's a small little lake but they're doing amazing things on the water! The corny little skits by "Norm" as filler had the kiddos laughing hysterically!! After exploring the museum on our own we headed over to a table where Thea (she works there) met us and we made Sunshine in the Clouds. This is usually an activity she does with the kids, but I'm a big kid so it went over really well. We took peaches (sunshine), cool whip (the clouds) and cinnamon graham crackers. We added all the ingredients into a bag and crushed them. It was good, messy, fun! Then you just cut a whole in the bag and squeeze it into your mouth. It tasted like peach pie Outside they have a beautiful walking path. We visited in fall so a lot of the plants were withering. I bet it's gorgeous in the spring and summer! It also has beautiful, well kept tennis courts and a basketball half-court which is also always clean. One of the highlights of my trips to Sioux Falls includes walking through McKennan park with my dog and playing tennis. The courts are impeccably clean and are never fully occupied. The basketball half-court is also nice, but if someone's using the court, waiting for your turn can be a frequent issue. On a beautiful day, spending time in McKennan park can't be beat.
