When I asked her to write her name on the business card she had offered me to contact the head office. She had refused to accept a size exchange from shoes I had purchased the previous day. These shoes were not worn, I had the receipt and packaging intact. On a previous visit I had an issue with rudeness and unprofessionalism from Madelyn the manager. Perhaps it is built into store policy and training. Word to the wise, If you buy shoes here make sure you don't ever need to exchange them or be prepared to endure abuse and insults when you return. We visited this location earlier this week and although some of the sneakers we wanted were sold out, the associates went out of their way to not only check the backroom for stock, but to check other stores and place them on hold for us as well. I was so excited to open the women's Kaleidoscope jacket as my christmas gift this year. I loved it…read morefrom the very beginning and wore it everyday to work but always changing out of it before doing any work. I wanted this jacket for a year long trip to South America and thought it wouldn't have any issues with day to day wear. Maybe 3 weeks after Christmas the outside seams started to pull and fray. I spent an hour of back and forth with the store listed on the receipt and the warranties department and was told I could have an exchange only because my mom had the foresight to give me the receipt and it was luckily 53 days after the purchase. The Columbia warranty is a livid joke. 2 options; a 35$ reimbursement for a seamstress to fix the problem OR Send your only jacket back in the dead of winter and wait 4 weeks for them to decide whether they will give you a refund so you can buy something else from their website. This experience alone makes me want to never buy Columbia again even though I got the exchanged jacket, it was a long and painful fight. I was assured it was a factory defect and I wouldn't have the problem again. Its been less than 2 weeks and I have a pull on the outside seam in a different location than the other pulls I had on the previous jacket. This is so sad and disappointing for a jacket from a company who should be able to stand behind their products. I will never be able to recommend Columbia after this, I will never be able to trust them and I will never again be a customer.
