After spending the day exploring the city and port of Sóller, we stumbled upon El Sabor, and it was…read moreone of our favorite meals of the entire trip! We ordered a bunch of dishes since we hadn't eaten all day and I'm glad we did. My favorite by far was their gambas. Sizzling and garlicky, good quality shrimp, it's one of those dishes that I could've eaten multiple orders of. The meatballs were tasty and the sauce I scooped up with a bunch of bread, didn't leave anything left on the plate. The croquettes were good but my favorite. The fried goat cheese was surprisingly good as well. The bread with tomato bread was nice little appetizer. We came for lunch and they only sit people in the outdoor dining area and not inside. We got there at a good time because after we sat down, the tables filled up and they were telling people it was an hour wait. We overheard them taking dinner reservations and they were already booking out 3 days in advance. So if you plan on coming for dinner, best to call ahead and make your reservations way in advance. Overall, if I was visiting Sóller again this would be a stop I'd make over and over again. In an area where things look really touristy and overpriced, El Sabor felt like the best choice we could've made that day and glad we did.

the bread and aoli was good but it took over 45 minutes for the small tapas to come out. Way too…read morelong for the simple things we ordered

Tapas, and more tapas! In fact I am returning tomorrow to try new ones!…read more The Patatas con Allioli was like a potato salad with ailoli. I am completely inspired to try and replicate this at home. Pimientos de Padron are small jalapeño looking peppers but they are not hot were grilled in olive oil and sprinkled with sea salt and they were delicious. Datiles con Bacon, you can't go wrong with bacon and dates! Frito Mallorquin de Matanzas was a pork stew, and oh so good. The server enticed me with decaf con leche and I thought that was the perfect end. Then to top the meal, a bottle arrived with a liquor only made on this island. Heirbas is anise, orange flowers...and.... Who new there was a healing alcohol drink. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herbs_de_Majorca What was really great, besides the location of being on the square in Soller, is that I am gluten free and had a severe reaction earlier in the week and ended up at the farmacia and altered my plans for the trip due to my blistered skin. Being GF is no joke. The server Juan Pedro was well versed in gluten free menu items and recommended several dishes. Trust me, it was an amazing tapa meal and following his advice was a win, win! I have had some hit and misses in my journey and this is a hit! When you find yourself in Soller, this is a restaurant you need to seek.

Sat outside, was seated right away. This restaurant has a beautiful view, lovely to sit outside…read more Ordered a paella entree with chicken. It was not the best paella we had on our trip, but it was still pretty good! The chicken was not in cubes but bone-in.
