(Early September, Mallorca, late lunch for 2). Beautiful setting at the end of a picturesque drive ( road from Inca to Lluc monastery), perfectly decorated interiors making it worth a one hour drive. We made a reservation online and there was euro20 reservation fee ( charged only if you don't show up or cancel with less than 6 hours notice). Truly beautiful setting, wonderful ambiance, excellent service. The food...... fresh but very blah, lacks spices or even salt. You have to ask for salt& peppers ( you get a surprised look and then salt &pepper shakers clearly coming from the kitchen - still in a supermarket plastic bottle , the pepper one was in pepper mill that was not working). Calamari were perfectly grilled but lacked salt or any spices and had this sleazy membrane inside that was not removed. Baked cod was fresh and baked, that's all I can tell. Hot liver salad that was on an appetizer menu was good , the portion was huge, an equivalent of an entree rather than an appetizer. Can be a meal on its own. Perfect for sharing. Grilled artichokes, also from an appetizer menu, came beautifully presented and in a large portion ( 4 large pieces), perfect for sharing or can be a full meal for a vegetarian. Aside from a desert ( crumbled brownie in chocolate ice cream, served in a vine glass), the food was not memorable,) the setting and ambiance were. We came for food and it was a mistake. Come on a special occasion or bring the date, enjoy the whole setting and the service. Order wine, appetizer to share and individual deserts, and you will have a perfect time. To be fare, we have not tried any of the meat dishes, those from the grill may be good. Perhaps we will return to try those. It is a pricy place ( our dinner of two starters, two entrees, two coffee, one desert, one bottle of mineral water came to euro120). Many previos comments say that the place is overpriced for the quality of food. I agree that the food is not superb but the maintenance of the grounds, interiors, plenty of serving staff doesn't come for free. The whole experience is worth the price tag read more
