Granted I have a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science and I could have gone straight for RN, which I thought about, but I wanted to introduce myself into a new world. I found Concord Institute by chance while googling and I over-looked it many times! But something was telling me to "GO and check it out" so I did!!! Next thing I know, I was sitting in front of finances, fitting for my scrubs and preparing my picture for my ID. I was enrolled in a Medical Assistant Program I was excited to start!! My time with the instructors, the practice and the hands on learning prepared me for working with surgeons at Tampa General Hospital!!! I never knew what it took to be a Medical Assistant and Concord exceeded those expectations and more. It wasn't all about the hands on learning that was exceptional, but the availability the instructors had to answer all my questions about the practice. I am so glad that I took a leap of faith to be apart of an AMAZING Institute! I am a proud ALUMNI of Concorde and I recommend ANYONE who is looking to start or continue their medical practices to ENROLL NOW! You will thank me later!!! Shout out to all my instructors! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS MONEY HUNGRY SCHOOL! They make you tell them how you are going to pay before they accept you or not. A real school would NEVER ask that first. There is also a Centro Español in Ybor. Nearby in West Tampa, a Sicilian Club opened in 1929. There was also a club for Afro-Cubans. The Sicilian Club building also remains standing and once housed a theater. Other similar cultural centers in Tampa are Centro Asturiana and Circulo Cubana. Centro Español building is part of the West Tampa Historic District that also includes a beautiful Carnegie Library on the site of a former cigar factory and the very striking Santaella cigar factory building. My experience at Southern technical College has been horrific so far. Instructors are not given the…read moreproper materials to help the students and from my experience whenever the instructors have reached out to the office they are blown off. Every good instructor that I have had so far in my interior design program has left the school since I have started my degree. I have had two instructors so far that have caused problems within the design program and I have reached out to Mr. Essie for help. He stated that no other students have complained and I explained to him that the students are afraid to complain due to the fact that they are not taken serious so they have given up. Just last week I reached out to Mr. Essie I'm confidence to explain to him that a new instructor he has hired has crossed the line professionally with his words to his students calling me bulimic and another girl large with that being said I do want to state that he was joking but it was still unprofessional. Essies direct response was that he didn't believe he would say that but he would talk to him. I immediately found out that he did talk to this professor and told the professor who said the complaint and the following week the professor announced to the class that it was me who made the complaint. I'm usually not a complainer but the school is extremely expensive and nothing is being done to better these students futures. Southern technical college I urge you to take a trip to your Fort Myers campus and look into all of the complaints and take action to provide your students a better future.

But none hold a candle to New Horizons Tampa. The reason why I say this, during my time at NH. I've had some major life hardships from a car accident to major depression. And everyone at NH went beyond what any school should do. They are truly genuinely compassionate and caring but students. Not money. The instructors Devin Ogden, Robert Campbell, Matt Grimes were prepared, engaging and always approachable. Even the front desk Brianne Bradford & Jade Lea-Wellington. The staff is very helpful when you have any concerns…read more I was not very confident in my phlebotomy skills but they were very accommodating and willing to let me come back to practice which was great and not a lot of schools allow. I definitely recommend taking your choice of course here. I was able to pass the nationally certifying phlebotomy exam thanks to them.
