    Peace out 2022!!

This is a really fun nature oasis in the heart of McKinney! Take a little back county road and you will find the lush and beautiful Erwin. If you are a true trail runner or biker, you will love this place. It is a DORBA trail also which means the off road association takes good care of it. It's mostly single track and gets pretty muddy when it rains. Lots of roots as well to keep things spicy and interesting. Traffic is pretty consistent in the mornings so be aware that you will be out there with bikers. Be courteous to one another while out on trails. One thing I love about trails and people that frequent them is they are courteous considerate and kind. No road bikers trying to run you out of the way with their speed demon mentality. Always good vibes on the path less traveled. They also have picnic tables and chill out spots if you are just seeking to be out there with the fam and grab some grub and enjoy nature and a picnic. Worth the drive too if you live further out.

Nice walking and biking trails. Various paths, little parks and parking lots to choose from.

Good for bikers and that's about it. I'm into hiking and have accepted the fact that I need to drive a little further out to get hiking in. One of the things I love about hiking is zoning out and enjoying nature. At Erwin I was on high alert watching out for bikers and raised my heart rate instead of lowering it. Pass.

Love this place! First time here since my wife and I are new residents in north Dallas. Great bike trails for miles! Open plain areas, and lots of wooded areas for various skills. Ups and downs, bumpy tree roots, even a couple ramps for experienced bicyclists that want to catch some air! Lots of activities going on around the park as well, camping, bike lessons, photo shoots, great open space areas!

It's beautiful out here and it's all tucked away. I originally thought this was Oak Point but got mixed up. It's hidden, so you really have to search for this place. We thought this was a kids park, like with playground stuff but nope. There's a broken swing and that's it. So we decided to just explore the woods. This place is perfect for nature lovers and bike riders but if you aren't into tarantulas and snakes, I'd avoid lol. We saw three tarantulas just in the picnic area and they are not my thing. So just be careful where you walk as snakes are also abundant here.

Almost ran over this little guy with my mountain bike!

One of my favorite parks! Love riding my bike on the trail here. Though the roots can be a bit tough for new riders, seasoned riders will fair quite well here as the trail offers some challenges but is not real difficult. Nice place to picnic and relax with a good book, too.

If you love biking or jogging single track this is my "go to" spot when visiting friends in the area. Great open spaces, minimal crowds and free entry. Ample flora and fauna to enjoy along the trails.

    Big open areas, gorgeous!

We went for photos and it's not the best photo place as it was a park but the scenery was extremely nice just don't suggest for photos!

Such amazing trails. I absolutely love it here. You do have to watch out for bikes if you're hiking, however.

Very nice trails for biking, good slopes and hills. Definitely bring safety gear for the narrow passes and quick turns. Have fun!

It could go either way rating this great park. I will leave the specifics of that to a later update…read morereview. Today I want to describe why I am here. Passing this park on an out-of-the-way side street for the last two years, I noticed a "workout area" towards the entrance to the park. I made a mental note to stop and check it out but, never did until today. I usually work out daily at the recreation center but, recently due to Omnicron, I've been looking for an interesting outside place to get some exercise. I remembered passing this place and decided to check it out. On pulling up I was initially disappointed. I guess I thought the structure should be bigger, more interesting, more challenging! then I started using it. Bam!!! Hello! I thought I was in decent shape for my age but, boy was I wrong. I couldn't even make it through a few exercises on this "adult playground"!!!! It just shows you can't judge a book by its cover or make assumptions. You have to Do It. this great little outdoor gym known as the Miracle is just that. In a fairly small area, several exercises are demonstrated via placard if you need them. It will wear you out, challenge you in ways you didn't anticipate. I'm so glad I found this outdoor place to exercise in the fresh air at this time. I feel I'm getting a type of physical challenge that I didn't inside a gym. Definite Go!

If you're looking for the gold standard of playgrounds in Frisco (or honestly, anywhere nearby),…read moreHope Park is it. This is hands-down one of the most thoughtfully designed, beautifully maintained, and inclusive parks I've ever visited. The playground is massive, separated into different sections by age group, which is a lifesaver if you have both toddlers and older kids. Everything is built with accessibility in mind ramps, wide pathways, sensory features, musical instruments, and even mini pretend storefronts that spark imaginative play. The rubberized ground covering is such a bonus for safety too soft, clean, and comfortable for little ones learning to navigate the world. There's also a splash pad right next door, which is an absolute magnet on hot Texas afternoons. Shaded picnic tables and benches are scattered throughout the park, making it easy for parents and caregivers to relax without feeling like you have to hover the entire time. What makes Hope Park extra special is the heart behind it. It was created by the Frisco community with the dream of building a place where all children no matter their ability level could play side by side. You can feel that spirit when you're here. It's not just a playground; it's a celebration of inclusion, joy, and togetherness. Pro tip: It can get very busy on weekends, so early mornings or weekday evenings are perfect if you want more space to roam. Parking is plentiful, and restrooms are nearby. Five huge stars!
