The Ernst Fuchs Museum at Villa Wagner is kind of like a two for one deal. You get to see both the museum and Otto Wagner's brilliant architecture. The museum is an eponymous museum solely devoted to Ernst Fuchs of the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism. Mr. Fuchs is one of the better painters in this movement. And though it is not my favorite style of art, there are def a few paintings in the museum worth having a second or third look at. But the real star here is that this was Otto Wagner's summer villa. He poured all his imagination and creativity to make this a home where he and his family could comfortably live in Jugendstil splendour. And the result is nothing less than awesome.
Getting here is a pleasant 10 minute walk in Hütteldorf from the end station of the 49 Strassenbahn ..... utilizing either the Bujattigasse or the Hüttelbergstraße. read more
