No single artist embodies the spirit of Vienna more than Gustav Klimt, the late 19th century and early 20th century painter and fresco artist who helped found Vienna's Secessionist movement. Klimt's finished frescoes can be seen all over the city... but it is here that you can find the sketches for so many of those frescoes and many of the paintings that have led to his fame.
His magical blend of Art Nouveau/Art Deco realism mixed with decorative art, abstraction, and gold leaf, is inspiring.
