He answered my door when someone came, acting way too familiar. He then showed the person who showed up around and I heard him talking about me behind my back when he was in my backyard. He also tried hugging me at the end which I refused. People working for him called several times, acting all "familiar" with me, telling me I would get them to work on it, from the first call. I decide who I hire, it was very assumptive. The owner has behavior patterns that is disturbing. Other things were said/done that made me very uncomfortable. I'd suggest choosing someone(anyone!) else which is what I did. This man will be condescending, name drop, and violate your boundaries.

One of the owners, Chris, was involved before we ever signed a contract and was a constant presence throughout the project up until completion. Franklin's work was masterful; we still can't believe it's the same house. No project goes perfectly smooth, but when bumps in the road arose, they did their best to address them as quickly as possible. I had a terrible experience with Luis from Well Done Contractors. I was repaving my driveway and…read morerepointing my front steps. Luis showed up for the estimate on time and gave a fair price. For the stairs, Luis sent a subcontractor who started working at 4pm and did a horrendous sloppy job. After an argument, Luis reluctantly agreed it was poorly done and tried to fix it. The stairs still look terrible. The driveway work was such poor quality. A complete lack of care and attention to detail as shown in the pictures. It seems everything is rushed to do as many jobs as possible, but the quality of the work cannot keep up. Within a week we had tire marks and indents in our driveway. Luis showed up and told me it was due to how we turned the wheel when pulling into our parking space. I disagreed and Luis told me that my Jeep Cherokee was a large vehicle and "when the twin towers came down it made a big hole in the ground". Absolutely floored that this man could say something like this. After this, he stopped returning calls and texts. Avoid at all costs.

We didn't haggle even one dime with him. Fast forward to a completed job-turns outs they missed a sprinkler head and installed the pavers right on top of it. As we turn it on, the ground is immediately soaked. We call him, he shows up right away. This is where it all goes downhill. He immediately says it's not him or his guys fault. It's somehow the sprinkler guys fault. (Luis's guys removed all of the rest sprinklers!) Says he'll take care of it, but he's gotta charge me to pay his guys. $350 to remove 6-7 pavers to fix a problem that was his fault! He eventually leaves after the arguing that is not his fault. Long story short- I had to pay someone else to come and complete the job.

David was great and patient the entire way through the process. Answered all my questions, concerns, worked around other projects, etc. i never had a reason to think he isn't the right guy for the job, heck, he may still be if I ever learn the backstory. The issue is, I cant get in touch with him now that I am having a slight issue with the driveway. One, that will only get worst if not fixed, I have called numerous times and sent at least 5 messages via Angie's List since roughly July 3rd. I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt (sick, out of the country, on vacation, busy season, etc). However, it is almost going on a month and I'm stuck wondering how to proceed as he hasn't responded. Even other contractors dont have anything bad to say about him, but do suggest the driveway wasn't compacted with a "heavy enough" roller. Thus, the cause of the slight indentations in the driveway (have gotten worst since originally typing this). The entire point of paving my driveway was to get rid of those and much, much worst damage that the driveway had. Everything else is great - pitches good, survived the scaring, no damage to my new fence or patio pavers, WAS (before he got all my money) a great communicator, started/finished on time. I am hoping you see this review and resolve the issue so I can leave the review I was going to originally leave (all great comments). Anyone else reading this, take it for what it is...maybe something else is going on that is more important than work right now..who knows.. I just hope the one year warranty is honored. part 2) I changed my review to F because I have been waiting for over a month and I now know the company is active and still around. I have simply been ignored and what appears to be ripped off. All of American Paving Company jobs come with a warranty and mine is not being honored. This is why I suggest people don't pay contractors with a check, which is unfortunately only what this company takes. I felt comfortable enoaugh paying via this way because of his previous great reviews. Now, the only recourse is small claims court and the attorney generals office. all emails, phone calls and fax messages ignored since July 3rd. It is now August 25th, 2019. To make matters worst you redid a driveway 8 houses down from me and still didn't stop by or leave a note. You probably got the business from the sign you left at our house. I hope you sleep well at night knowing you screwed me and my family out of $3500.. .so much for my 7 year old having a smooth driveway to play basketball on, which is half of the reason I fixed the driveway. You should be ashamed.
