After a less than stellar experience at competitor Clarkson Eyecare, our family decided to try out Erker's Eyewear, in Clayton. We had a great experience! You definitely pay a premium for both the quality of the staff and the location, but it is worth it. Dr. Daniel Ethakoti was knowledgeable and had great bedside manner, and Sandy in the glasses section was great as well. The interior is spacious and modern. We will be back! read more

She goes above and beyond every time I am in the store. Shirley also offers an expert opinion on what looks best on and helped me select the best eyewear for my vision needs. Two incredibly knowledgeable and trustworthy women! It was a true pleasure working with them both. I'm a loyal Erker's customer for life!! read more

I just recently purchased eyeglasses from Erker's and had a wonderful experience! Sandy Shirley pulled out so many eyeglasses for me to Try on and was very good at fitting the glasses for my face frame. She took time to consider where they sat on my face, and if my eyebrows and cheeks were appropriately suitable for the frame. I would highly recommend her and the Erker staff! Thank you so much! Sandy was very helpful in pulling glasses for exactly what I wanted and she weighed in on the best pair to buy. Cheryl processed my order and applied my insurance to my purchase. I would definitely recommend Erker's Eyewear for anyone who wants personalized style choices and is in a position to invest in their eyewear. read more

I bought glasses and contacts from Esker's recently and I had the most Amazing experience. They were very patient and helpful while I was picking out my glasses. They had so many beautiful choices i could not decide. The lady with the salt and pepper hair, I think her name was Cheryl helped me choose the most perfect pair. She was very knowledgeable, guiding me away from glasses that wouldn't look so great with my type lenses. I appreciated that so much. She made it fun not stressful like usual. We had so much fun laughing and carrying on it was like we knew each other for years. I offered to tip her because she spent so much time with me but she insisted that was not necessary. I enjoyed myself so much I might go back to purchase another pair. Thanks Erker's for being such an amazing eye care place and hiring fantastic staff. read more

Erker's on Clayton Road is really great! Shirley is the manager and is very professional. Sandy is the eyewear specialist and has an unbelievable talent for picking out the style of glasses that will look the best on you. She's been doing this for many, many years. Cheryl is extremely knowledgeable and helped me to understand why I was having trouble getting used to my new no-line bifocals. Now I know what I need to do and what my options are. Everyone has always been really nice and the establishment is very attractive. I doubt that anyplace else could compare to the service that I have received there. read more

Big thank you to Cheryl. I am so pleased with her help with my purchase: Very knowledgeable and great service!

Erker's on Clayton Road is the very best and they have been my go to for glasses for years! They're family owned and the business is the oldest in the St. Louis area! The Optometrist was wonderful, professional, knowledgable, pleasant and caring! I feel they have the best selection, fashionable and up to date eyewear!! Staff has always been so helpful in their beautiful office! Eyewear is displayed so you can easily look around and they have different range in price! They have always been experts in knowing what looks and fits best!! They get 10 stars from me! I won't go anywhere else! Give them a try and they have other locations! read more

My glasses were horrible broken and slanted. We took them to Erker's where I originally purchased them, the Erker's staff said they could try to fix them but couldn't guarantee they would not break. I needed them to be fixed asap and we couldn't send them away to be replaced. They tried to fix them and did in about ten minutes! Would recommend buying your glasses here. The repair was free of charge. read more

Sandy says she's good at picking out frames, and that is an UNDERSTATEMENT! She instantly understood my adventurous sense of style and she helped me pick out an ideal frame for my vibe and face shape. Shirley is an excellent optician whose meticulous approach makes me confident that I am going to receive the best possible lenses for my prescription and vision needs. I was extremely impressed with Erker's selection of frames and totally pleased with the service I received. read more

Great service. Nice people. They work hard to make sure you are satisfied with your glasses

The team is very nice and helpful! The eye doctor was very nice and it was a great experience! I was there during the Chrome Heart trunk show and enjoyed their inventory of upcoming frames. My only advice - I originally requested my frames to be sent to Chrome Heart for repair and cleaning. I felt confident that the manufacture would be able to restore my frames and repair the hinge that I bent. Chrome Heart's have repaired frames for me in the past. Instead of sending them to Chrome Hearts; they attempted twice to complete the work themselves. The second time; the frames look much better but my preference from day one was to send them to Chrome Hearts. I will have a location I purchased from in Miami to send them to Chrome Hearts. Recommendation: I would recommend this location to others. The team was very nice! Thank you for allowing me to leave feedback by providing the QR code. Happy Holidays! The older woman that helped me pick out my frames was great! She was friendly and personal. The DOC was outstanding and made the exam actually fun and not the same ole "better now? or now?" type of exam Sadly for a place with the prices as high as here I wouldn't expect people to be eating yogurt at the front desk or for people to be gossiping about customers. I am sad that I didn't get any single persons name....but I don't think they offered that information to us. Frames were pretty $ and so were the lenses....I would have hoped for a better experience over all. read more

Today, at Erker's, I had the most thorough and professional eye exam here than I've ever had anywhere else in St. Louis. Dr. Levy was very thorough and actually advised me not to get glasses yet and wait another year or two. Top-notch service all around. read more

This place is ridiculous. I went for some frames. The petite old lady had me sit down and showed me 4-5 frames. Meanwhile someone needed her help and she assured that person she will be available in 5 minutes. To keep her promise she told her me she does not have anything else for me. So I had to go. Really? That's customer service... Cold. Rude. Stupid. read more

My boyfriend and I had the best experience at Erker Optical today. Open Saturdays til 5 (nice!) he scheduled his eye exam on his day off. He got right in with very little paperwork. The eye doctor was personable and extremely knowledgeable. When it was time to pick out frames, all the employees (especially Anita) were very kind and helpful to him. The selection of frames was great too! Everything from generic brands ($29.99+) to higher end brands. We were so pleased with our experience that we both chose our new eye doctor today after seeing the same one for 15 years. I would definitely recommend Erker Optical. read more

My husband and I stopped in on a Saturday to look around at glasses. Teresa and Sandy offered to help us and we could not of had a better experience. They were both able to fit us with just the perfect pair of glasses. The speed and service was exceptional. We highly recommend and will return for future purchases. Quality, style & service were worth every dollar spent! read more

The refraction I get here are so much better that I happily pay what insurance doesn't. I go to an opthalmologist but I always come back here for my glasses. Very highly recommended. Family owned and operated for five generations. read more

I decided to try Erker's when I bought their coupon at Groupon. BIG MISTAKE! * Rude customer service - don't expect friendly service here at all. The two ladies that I spoke to was rude! * Scam - Was charged extra $50 for contact lens exam even though Groupon says that it included eye exam! * Overprice - their frames and lenses are overpriced! I went back to Groupon and noticed others also had similar bad experience with them. The coupon may sounds like a good idea but it is not. Stay away from Erker!!!!! read more

I purchased a groupon online which gave me 200 towards frame, lenses and a free eye exam and it was worth the money! Dr. Levy saw me right away and when I was finished an optician helped me pick out two great frames that I love. They have a huge selection and exclusive designers, I would recommend Erkers to anyone! Great quality and customer service is worth spending a little money read more

We purchased a groupon for Erkers about 8 months ago. Very clearly in the comments section Tony Erker said "your eye exam is also a contact lens exam" and then again "your exam is for a contact lens exam as well as an eyeglass exam it is a full eye exam" and yet again "It does apply to a contact lens exam" to questions that were posted on the comments asking if the groupon could be used for a contact lens exam. When we used our groupon, we were charged $50 additonal for a contact lens exam! I called to complain twice and on the 2nd call they agreed to refund the $50. The customer service on the phone was curt at best. Just wanted to share our Erker's experience. read more

I've bought my last 5or 6 pairs of glasses at Erker's and have always been given excellent service at the time of sale and beyond. This is important to me but my primary reason for going back to Erker's over the years is their excellent optometrist. He's examined my eyes numerous times, both for glasses and contacts, and has always been extremely thorough and professional in every way, every time. I don't like paying such high prices for glasses but I'm willing to bite the bullet in order to get an excellent eye exam. Patty, who seems to be usually behind the counter, is also very professional and helpful--as have been all the salespeople I've worked with. The glasses I've bought there are top quality. If it weren't for the very high prices I'd give Erkers all 5 stars. I wish they had at least a few lower priced options. Even with a Groupon this is a very pricey place. read more

This was a HORRIBLE experience. What was to take 3 weeks turned into 4,5,and on the 6th week I finally got a call that my glasses and sunglass clip were in. It was the wrong clip and the wrong color lenses. That took another week. I was refunded 50% of the price of the clip. REALLY?? The right thing would have been to refund it entirely. I work in customer service for a luxury retailer and would have been fired for such nonsense. I've spoken to a number of people who have had similar experiences with Erkers. I wish I would have known that before I invested my time and money with these losers. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE FOR FEAR OF THE SAME THING HAPPENING TO YOU. read more

I recently purchased eyewear at Erkers. The staff was very helpful and I really appreciated the person who helped me choose a frame. However as other reviewers noted the frames and glasses seem overpriced. I spent $600 after the $200 groupon for an eye exam and basic lenses - not even trifocals. I was told the glasses would be ready in 7-10 days. It's been over 3 weeks and I still don't have them and they didn't reach out to me to let me know there was a delay. Not sure it was worth the money I spent. read more

I visited Erker's on Clayton Road last week and was lucky enough to have Karen to assist me on picking out new glasses. After trying to find some on my own at first, it became overwhelming since there are so many fun ones to pick from. Karen, who is extremely professional and knows her stock so well told me to sit down and relax and she will find me the ones that would best fit me and my personality. She put several in front of me and I loved them all, it was just tough to make a decision but with Karen's help I decided on a pair and loved them. At Erker's, they really care about you and your lifestyle and will work with you in every way they can. Do yourself a favor, don't waste your time going anywhere else, just go to Erker's, ask for Karen and she will make your experience easy and fun and you will love what you end up with. Thanks Karen for everything. You are the best and so is Erker's. read more

Stay away from this business. After four times of trying to get my glass prescription correct - I am left with a pair of glasses that cost me $950 and they do not work. I have to go somewhere else to get glasses that work for the Erker's management will not work with me. They say they work with you until they get it right - but they do not. They do not refund under any circumstances therefore I would stay away from this business. There are plenty of other glass places that have integrity and will not stop until you are happy with your glasses. read more

I am so pleased with my experience and glasses! From beginning to end everything went smoothly. I made an appointment to have my eyes examined during my lunch hour. When I arrived, I was greeted with kindness, introduced to the Dr. and promptly taken back for my examination. The Dr. and staff are brilliant, answering all my questions, educating me on different lens material and helping me select the best frame that goes with my face shape. The frame selection is phenomenal; unlike no other. They have the hottest frames to choose from by far. I purchased two pair, my everyday-a savvy red pair called Monoqool and a special computer pair made for work, a black and tortoise frame called NW77th; which I'm in love with! I've had tons of compliments on my new glasses and I owe that to Erkers. read more

I recently bought frames and lenses from Erker's. The customer service was wonderful. Certainly this is not a "discount" service, so if it's price you're looking for this isn't for you. THAT SAID, the selection of fashionable frames is great! Fashion is subjective and I believe they have a great selection for any design taste. it's the customer service I received that was special. Shortly after getting my new glasses, there was a small scratch on one lens that I thought shouldn't be there since i had scratch RESISTANT lenses. After a short look at the glasses, the sales person said they would order new lenses. No questions; no hesitation. The lenses arrived in less than a week...I went there...they"popped them in and that was it. I will definitely return to Erker's the next time I need eyewear. read more

Bought a Groupon and took my family. Very friendly people. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Seriously though, it is very pricey! Even with the Groupon, it was well over several hundred a piece. And I got two hundred off each person. They say generic frames start at 39 and designers 100, but they never show you those! Bring your AMEX or whichever credit card offers you the most points back! You're gonna need it! LOL read more

Just yesterday, I came here with a friend to get her prescription for contacts. It was truly & I mean truly an extremely horrid experience. Several months ago, my friend initially came here to get her eyes examined due to a great Groupon deal. Firstly, we went to Sam's Club to look at contact lens prices. My friend was happy with the low cost & with the great customer service. Since my friend forgot the piece of paper that had her prescription on it, an employee told her that the employee could call Erker's to get the prescription. The employee at Erker's would not release this information to the employee at Sam's Club. So, my friend went home to see if she could find that piece of paper. No such luck. She decided to go there & get it herself. The employee told my friend that the prescription was only for glasses & not for contacts. My friend & I, then, went back to Sam's Club with this lovely piece of paper & her insurance card. The employee at Sam's Club looked at the paper & was stunned. It did not have the correct information. WTF??????? She couldn't order her contacts at all. So, instead of going back to Erker's & trying to get the right information, the employee at Sam's Club suggested that my friend go to Pearle Vision & have her eyes measured again. In the end, Erker's measured her wrong. My friend was horrified upon knowing this. I was shocked to see a lack of professionalism on Erker's end. Upon entering this store, you can clearly tell that they sell high end frames. However, this store does not have high end customer service. The reason I gave this store 2 stars instead of 1 is that they let me use the bathroom even though I wasn't a paying customer. At the end of her eye visit, my friend was not given a box of contacts to try nor some contact lens solution. In the age of electronic media, the prescription could have been e-mailed or scanned in a PDF file. Paper is simply tooo easy to lose. While I understand the need for patients' privacy, prescription for contacts/glasses is not the same thing as a Social Security number. All in all, we wasted valuable time, gas & sanity trying to get one thing (a simple prescription for contacts) due to Erker's horrible customer service. Never again. read more

I want you to know, I have gone here twice with a Groupon coupon. The doctor appointment both time was the best, a very compete exam. Also the service was great both Tony and the nice lady behind the counter was friendly and helpful. I would definitely do back. read more

Awesome customer service along with great products. The staff (especially Theresa) was right on point with current trends and finding the right look for me at the right price. Loved the boutique feel of the store. read more

Nice staff, some very nice frames... but the prices! Expect to pay twice as much for lenses as at other places in town, probably 3- 4 times what you pay ordering the lenses online. I was shocked to be charged $250 for single-vision polycarbonate lenses (no coatings or anything special) when the identical lenses cost $70 online. Wow. They do have some nice frames, but get an estimate of the total cost before you fall in love with anything. read more

Id buy glasses from the Dollar Store before I went back to Erkers. And believe me, they were not cheap! The man that works there is so utterly rude and cold. Because my glasses where not right when they came in, he treated me very cold and acted like somehow, it was my fault. It was embarrassing and humiliating. I felt terrible when I left. Ive never been treated like that purchasing glasses. Save your money and dignity and go somewhere else. I'm so disappointed. read more
