I never felt like a number. I was known by name when I walked in the door! Now let me start on my actual treatments. My very first appointment was a consultation, and she did a ultrasound the same day so we could get the ball rolling. We found out I had a polyp, and she scheduled me for removal. After having my first HSG and suspecting my tunes were blocked and I was crushed, she was still optimistic, she scheduled me for surgery to see if it could be unblocked. It couldn't, and although I still had one tube, she advised that IVF would be best. Stem cycle...first off let me start by saying I was 28 when starting off, Dr James started me off on the normal dosage and while responded, my response wasn't what she wanted it do be, she gradually upped my dosage. I ended up with 28 eggs, 11 of the 28 were frozen at day 5 and 1 on day 6. FET#1 while it ended in a chemical, Dr James did a perfect cycle even while dealing with her own personal crisis, she never let me or any other patients fall by the way side. Fast forward to FET # 4 Dr James thought outside of the book, she never just once said well I don't know but let's just try this. She always took the time out to specialize treatment for me. I was allergic to so many things but she never gave up. I am now 23 weeks pregnant with twins!!! I am eternally grateful to Dr Summer James! I also recommended a friend to go see Dr James after having an unsuccessful cycle with another RE, Dr James was able to do the almost impossible, and my friend delivered a beautiful baby boy in February! I would recommend Dr. James over and over and over again with no hesitation. Even through my failed cycles Dr James was there! She never pressured me into anything, she always explained everything too me, explained her reason for why she was doing it and what the benefits were. I could go on for hours about how great she is. Dr. Hands' personal skills are BY FAR the worst of any physician I have EVER seen. I was lectured for not taking a certain course of action (that two prior physicians had recommended against). When I attempted to take notes about her recommended course of action, she LITERALLY swatted at my hand like I was a toddler and wouldn't continue talking until I'd put my notes away. I believe that they are just double and triple booking these DR's, so they are already running behind the minute they arrive. There have been days I have literally spent open to close with staff in this place! Which, as a diabetic, is hard. I have worked with Dr's who use testing & patient assessment to come up with a diagnosis and treatment plan. However, I feel Dr. Salhin relies solely on the testing. Which is why she runs SO MUCH of it. I was in that place sometimes 2-3x a week. She had all the information she needed... even gave me a diagnosis. Had a medical history dating back to 2007. Yet, she couldn't offer a treatment plan. She just wanted me to come back every week and do more testing. How do you do this and have a life? A job? Exercise or do anything else? You are literally spending all day there for her to confirm your recent lab work matched your previous lab work. And in the meantime, she just finds every possible way for you to keep testing the same thing. Which starts to feel like it's not about the testing after a while, but more about the money she is making off the insurance billing. Because why? Why keep testing the same things 2-3x a week, every week. I already have a diagnosis. She knows what the problem is.... she just doesn't know how to treat it. Which is a sign that she is not a well rounded physician. If she can only rubber stamp a typical treatment plan for a typical diagnosis, the your screwed if your the odd guy out if you have something unusual. In fact, when she heard I was treating at another University for something else, she told me to ask them for their opinion about what to do....UGH. I liked my NP here, but otherwise, I feel like I wasted a lot of time spinning wheels and getting nowhere fast.

Laura Akright was very professional and Listened to me talk about my symptom and considered my feelings about not wanting to take medication. I had to no choice with my Graves' disease and me not having a Thyroid. I had to call the emergency number a few time and I received the Immediate care that I need it by the on call Doctor. I was very impressed. I trust this team of doctors because They listen to my concerns and my symptoms. I'm not a big fan of taking medications and I'm not the easiest patient to work with. But these professionals have done a great job in the last five years that I have I've been a patient at their establishment. I highly recommend The team of endocrinologist at this facility. I currently see Dr. Schmidt and I feel that he is a pretty awesome endocrinologist. He puts up with my resistance and gives me sound advice on treating my health conditions he's very patient with me and I appreciate it.
