My wife and I hired Eric to be our MC/DJ/Karaoke for our wedding back in November of 2021 specifically because he was able to speak cantonese, vietnamese, and english. This was important to us due to the wide range of languages that our extended families spoke. He was great switching between each of the languages during the course of our reception and injected his energy to each target audience! We had Eric DJ our wedding. I cannot speak for the karaoke portion of the business, because we did not opt for that. Eric was great! We spoke with him a few weeks in advance, sent him a list of songs we wanted. He added some extra songs in there, and really got people excited with the music, and almost everyone danced! Never could I have imagined that our dance floor would be PACKED (and it wasn't a small dance floor...) Not only that, but I gave him the itinerary and he helped streamline everything along. That's what every bride needs! We had our wedding at a community center, so for dance hour we dimmed the lights and Eric had brought in lighting for the dance floor. My guests were raving about the music and had no complaints! (I missed this part since I was running around doing gosh-knows-what) but I think people were able to text in their song requests to a number and Eric would play it! How cool and high tech!!! It got a lot of our guests to participate and choose songs! One of the other main reasons we booked Eric was because he spoke Cantonese (which my husband's family speaks), Vietnamese (which my family speaks), and English (which everyone else speaks LOL). I didn't realize how important this was until I saw the surprise on my grandparents' face; they actually understood what was going on at a more Westernized Asian wedding! I promise you, it is PRICELESS. And if you're in a similar situation like that, I would book Eric immediately. One thing I would change: It was more our fault, but we had requested a song that was in a movie, and the audio clip that played was actually from the movie. Oops! This is another very late review, but I want to thank Eric for being an amazing MC and DJ for my wedding in August 2017. I got lots of compliments on the music. He also fit right into my big Asian wedding, and a lot of people thought he was family because he was so well at ease. There was a slight mishap with the audio during the couple video we showed, and a slight sound jump during our first dance, but my husband improvised for the 3 seconds that it lasted. Eric was perfect for exactly what we needed at our wedding. He speaks English, Vietnamese and Cantonese. He was very helpful during planning, offering advice and his opinion on things. He also ran our motion graphics on the restaurants LED screens and figured out a way to make it work smoothly. I didn't feel like being on the dance floor of my own wedding. However, he did end it with what I told him to end it with, that brought me back to the floor. According to most of the Bay Area wedding photographers, there are only two well known and very experienced bilingual Vietnamese and Chinese wedding MC/host. Eric is one of them. My sister who is a seasoned wedding photographer referred us to Eric along with her social network of photographers. We met Eric and to our surprise, he is a one stop shop. He has access to all sorts of decorations, chair covers, backdrops, lighting etc. You name it, he has it. Eric was very nice and professional. Lena, my fiance at the time, thought his Chinese was very good. I, on the other hand spoke somewhat broken Vietnamese so I couldn't really tell if his Vietnamese was proper/polite or not. Who chose to move forward with Eric's services nonetheless. The hardest part of hiring a bilingual MC is knowing the MC's personality on stage. The last thing I would ever want is an MC/host to crack innappropriate jokes to a bunch of conservative Vietnamese and Chinese folks. That would be all bad!!!! Eric was the opposite of that. His politeness and energy made our banquet very enjoyable. He kept the party going and there was never a dull or paused moment. He did a great job!
