Dr. Kardovich is wonderful. I sought his opinion after a referral and was blown away by his honesty, thoroughness, and transparency. It's very clear that he cares deeply about his patients and wouldn't recommend anything just for the sake of a financial gain. I have been going to Dr K for 7 years. He is the nicest, most caring orthodontist ever. When I was a teenager I went to Dr. Eckhart and I hated going there - the assistants were rude, they were always rushed, and cut my gums with the wires from the braces multiple times. My teeth ended up crooked again. So several years later I came to Dr Kardovich to get invisalign. Best thing I ever did! He did a perfect job. It's been years and still great work. I see him a couple times a year to adjust retainers (free) and he's the best. You can't find a better orthodontist in the south bay. read more

Even tho they are all very nice ... it seems as if every time my daughter has an appointment the mees up on her colored rubber bands then expect her to just accept it as if it's such an inconvenience to fix their mistake . They also try to make you schedule another appointment to fix that and hassle you about same day fixing. It's ridiculous. All that niceness doesn't mean a thing if they can't do their jobs right the first time and inconvenience you to fix their mistake . Shame on them . Of course they left us waiting and waiting using Covid as an excuse to not get her back in right away to fix it . read more

Dr. K and staff are hands down the best Orthodontic team there is! I have been a patient for probably 20 years now. I was given the smile of my dreams and it has been maintained all these years through follows-ups and great retainer maintenance. (you gotta wear them as prescribed people!) I wish all medical practices ran this efficient yet with such a personal touch. You really feel like you are the only person in the office and at home. We are so happy with Dr. Kardovich. His kindness, helpfulness, gentleness are so appreciated. He is a happy person who treats his staff well. For me, it's a plus that his office doesn't wreak of expensive interiors for which we would have to pay. He's not all about the material showiness stuff. Dr. Kardovich isn't put off by my direct questioning, so I always feel like an informed team member. After much deliberation and personal correspondence with Dr. Kardovich, I'd like to clarify some things that I had previously written about his practice. First, I would like to say that if you live in the South Bay area, Dr. Kardovich is the best orthodonist you will find. He will even see you years after your braces have been removed to help you maintain your retainers and get back on track if you have slipped up on wearing them (which I had quite a bit). The review I had written was regarding a visit I had a few years ago. The visit transpired as follows: I went into his San Pedro office, and was according to his records "13 minutes" late (my official opinion is that I was 2-10 minutes late, which would be negligible in most offices). However, I had driven from San Diego and although having budgeted plenty of time, I ran into rush hour traffic in San Diego County, Orange County and Los Angeles County. Through personal communication, I was edified that their office prides itself on timeliness and not making clients wait. Often orthodontic check ups can be a mere 15 minutes, similar to a meds check up with a psychiatrist. Me being 13 minutes late evidently did indeed affect their morning schedule. For that, I apologize. However, their staff, including Dr. Kardovich seemed quite perturbed at my tardiness. In fact, they made me feel so badly about this incident that I had formerly had given him a "1 star" and wrote a lengthy description about the rudeness of his staff. The truth is Dr. Goode's practice, which is now Dr. Kardovich's practice is definitely the best in San Pedro. In fact, even after years of not seeing me, they adjusted my retainers for FREE. They really do hold up to the standards of excellent orthodontia. Unfortunately because of my lack of upkeep, I will have to get adult orthodontia, even though I only had braces in the first place to close my gap. Yet, if you know anything about getting braces, a gap requires a lot of adjustment to all of your teeth. I am still glad that I did not get veneers, because the idea of physically manipulating the structure of my teeth is chilling. However, the closing of my gap increased my confidence immensely. And, although my bottom retainer doesn't really fit, my upper one does so my gap is still closed. But, I will soon need braces again to prevent the erosion of my teeth. I have a great dentist in San Diego (Dr. March--see my review) who is referring me to her preferred orthodontist (Dr. Barton). I would like to apologize to Dr. Kardovich for my angry review, and reassure him that overall he's great. And, perhaps, his staff were having an "off-day" and my tardiness was indeed more influential to the efficiency of his practice than I could understand. If I still lived in San Pedro, I would likely have approached them face to face about that day to clear the air. And, I would have likely been in his chair once again to fix the excellent work he did as a teenager that I have let unwind throughout my twenties. So, Dr. Kardovich, I do hope that you accept my apology and grasp the sincerity of this new review. And, I wish you and your practice the best as well. read more

I LOVE Dr. Kardovich and his team!! I started going to Dr. Goode's office when I was 10 or 11 years old and started on the first phase of my braces. Two years later I received the second phase of my ortho and was pleased with the results. My father, being a dentist, was always on me about keeping up with my retainers. I, however, being a stubborn teenager at the time did not follow through and am now serving a 6 month sentence of orthodontics again! Dr. Kardovich has been amazing!! I am 30 years old now and was hesitant to restart the ortho experience, but he put my mind at ease right away! Because of my past non complaince with retainers and Invisalign we opted for the traditional brackets and wires, but it is completely worth it!!! My smile has already changed dramatically and the teeth that had shifted over the years are now back in place!! I have just two months to go and I am thrilled with the results already!! Dr. Kardovich is so nice and treats every patient like a friend! I have seen him with the kids that come in and he is equally as kind to them. I cant speak highly enough of this office!! I hope I never have to get orthodontics again but I will always come back and visit them! read more

Our son just finished his 1-1/2 years of orthodontics and WOW~his smile is gorgeous!!! The process was quick and easy and he did not have to go monthly. We heard about him from several people we know in San Pedro and their kids teeth looked great. We went in and had the most thorough consult~everyone there is very caring and helpful. Their office is SPOTLESS too. Very professional staff and our appointments were always on time. Our son got his braces off last week and we couldn't be more thrilled. Absolutely LOVE this orthodontist office! The staff are always nice, friendly, and professional and they always explain everything in a way families of all ages can understand. Their office is always clean and inviting. They make the experience fun by offering points for coming to your appointment on time and for taking good care of your braces and/or retainer and following directions for at home care, which you can redeem for fun prizes! And not just stickers, I'm talking about Legos and other really cool, fun stuff! Dr Kardovich and his staff are the best! I would definitely recommend them to anyone! I took daughter to Dr Kardovich's office for braces ten years ago, and was impressed with the consistently high level of professionalism, quality care and expertise by everyone there. The office rooms were clean, bright and inviting. Her teeth turned out great. Ten years later, it was my turn! I had had my permanent retainer removed years ago, which was put on after my braces were removed years before that, and my bottom teeth slowly started to shift till they became crooked and began to effect my bite. So I went back to Dr Kardovich, and it was like going to visit an old friend. The whole team took such good care of me. Everyone there seems to love the work, and you can tell by how positive, supportive and interactive they are with their patients, the top prize going to Dr Kardovich himself. I just got my braces off for a second time, they even polished my teeth, and they look amazing. I learned a lot this time around, and I just can't recommend Dr Kardovich enough for kids, teens and adults of all ages, alike. I'm sure Dr. Kardovich hears this all the time but I am LOVING my new smile. Although the journey was long in retrospect the time spent was filled with excitement, laughter and then tough love to n my teeth at the end. Everyone in the office made this journey better than I could even imagined. My story over the last 2 years, speaks of faithful brushing, lots of flossing, encouraging staff pushing me to the finish line and Dr Kardovich; patient, thorough, infectiously joyous and just plainly darn good at what he does! Best Orthodontist ever! My daughter just finished treatment and her smile is gorgeous. Dr K is so nice and caring and the staff is just as great. Every appointment was smooth sailing, not more than a 2 minute wait before they call you back, your in and out in less than an hour unless you are taking off braces or getting them on, those appointments are a little longer. I am happy with my daughter's smile and I love that when you finish treatment everyone in the office celebrates. Don't look anywhere else for a perfect smile, DR K is your guy. read more
