DO NOT book a dentist appointment with this company. I wish I didn't do it!…read more They have some answering service who takes their calls. The person spoke weak English so it took many repeats to get my details across. She booked me for a 12pm appointment on a Saturday, and when I asked the dentist's name... she did not know. The day before my appointment, I received a confirmation call. Apparently the dentist is out to lunch from 12-1pm, so they pushed me back by an hour. No problem. But a bit confusing as to why the answering service didn't know this. Then the office called me three more times to confirm my insurance. I even called back at the end of day to make sure I was all set. I mean. You guys handle appointments and dental insurance all day long. Shouldn't be that hard. I filled out the new patient forms online. Again, seemed standard. Well, I'm still sitting in the waiting room well past my appointment time. They had me refill out the forms because the internet ate them. And they're not able to verify my insurance. Because it is Saturday and the insurance office is closed. I told them I was approved yesterday via a fax. They can find nothing. What's so different about Friday and Saturday staff? Don't they have a process?? I kept getting told that I messed up by "calling corporate" -- which I verified with them, I did not. I called and received calls from their exact office. Someone else just walked into the waiting room with an appointment. They told him he also messed up by booking the appointment through corporate. If corporate answers your phone, then we're all booking through corporate. Right? So I'm sitting in the waiting room. With a TV blaring Sponge Bob Square Pants. I asked them to turn it off as I'm literally the only person in the room. The rest were kicked out for "corporate" issues. The woman did try to turn it off, but said she could not. I tried the remote too. I couldn't even turn down the volume. So if you want a lot of hassle and an office with such poor communication they can't even turn off the waiting room TV, then you've found the right office. -- UPDATE: I left the office without being seen. An exam is what? $60? I'm on a short timeline. Would've paid. And if the dentist who was supposed to see me had any sense, she would've seen me and taken the gamble that everything is as I said and she'd get that $60 settled on Monday. She was siting right there through all of this. I even explained that I'm anal with my teeth. I get them cleaned every 4 months. It's been four months. So I'm very easy. Instead, I will NEVER use this dentist. I will take my family of 5 elsewhere.

I've been coming to A+ Dental in San Pedro with Dr. Philip Park for years, and my family has been…read morecoming here using my dad's Longshoremen insurance. Because we've been patients here for years, this recent experience with the front desk was extremely disappointing. My original appointment was scheduled for Wednesday, August 12 at 10:00 AM. On Thursday, August 6, the office called me and asked if I wanted to move my appointment to Friday, August 7 at 10:00 AM. I agreed, but later that evening my kids reminded me that they had something going on at school that Friday morning. I called the office as soon as they opened to let them know I couldn't make the newly moved appointment and asked to keep my original appointment date. I was then told I would have to pay a $50 same-day cancellation fee. I was confused because my original appointment was not that Friday--the office had contacted me and asked me to move it up to Friday. I understood that I had agreed to the change, but I didn't feel it was fair to be charged a same-day cancellation fee when the appointment had originally been scheduled for the following Wednesday. Despite this, I called again on August 19 to schedule my cleaning. I was given an appointment for Monday, August 31 at 12:00 PM. I was again told about the $50 fee and was told I could speak with Dr. Park about it when I came in. I agreed. I drove approximately 45 minutes from Anaheim to San Pedro for this appointment, only to arrive and be told there was no appointment for me on the schedule. After checking my information, the front desk staff member told me that I had never actually been scheduled because I didn't want to pay the $50 cancellation fee. This was extremely frustrating because my understanding from our conversation was that I WAS being scheduled for that date and time and could discuss the fee with Dr. Park when I came in. What makes this even more disappointing is that I made a 90-minute round trip, spent money on gas, and rearranged my day based on what I was told by the office. If I was not actually going to be scheduled, that should have been clearly communicated to me when I called. I understand that dental offices have cancellation policies, but there also needs to be clear communication and good customer service. Patients should not have to drive nearly an hour each way only to arrive and find out they were never actually scheduled. After being a patient here for years and coming here through my dad's Longshoremen insurance, I expected much better communication and customer service. I hope management addresses this because this experience was extremely frustrating and could have easily been avoided with proper communication.

Dr. Park was very honest and forthright about my tooth, saying he could try saving it but if there was pain after the filling, I may need one. It has been over a month since the filling and absolutely no pain or issues. I'm a little embarrassed about how gross my tooth looked before but had to share pictures on how gorgeous the filling came out. Thank you so much Dr. Park. I promise I'll floss more often
