The price for trees was more expensive than most other places, but I don't mind supporting small, local businesses. I do expect good service however, and I did not find it here. I decided to make it easy and do that again this year because it was such a great experience. I went to a different lot but they didn't have sufficient staff on hand to get the trees off the lot for people when I was there, so I hopped back in my car and googled the next closest place, which ended up being Frederico's lot on State Street. There were a ton of staff available to help all the customers looking around. They offered four different varieties of trees in a range of sizes, all clearly marked with height, type, and price. There was no rush to pick a tree, but everyone was willing to answer questions, and once I picked my tree, they were extremely quick to dismount it from the metal tree holder and load it onto the top of my car while I paid. The owner himself was my cashier, and as we were talking I learned that this is the 29th year they've been open, and they had moved from a previous location back to THIS location, which had been the original spot he opened up. AND it turns out Frederico was where I had such a great experience last year, too! Their selection, pricing, and customer service were all much better than the other place I stopped by first, so I'm very glad I ended up tracking down Frederico again and will make sure I just head straight there next year. First - I have been a loyal customer and have absolutely loved Glover, which is even more…read moreheartbreaking writing this review. Great selection at higher-market prices. (I'll take it if it's quality, and that's why I've stuck with them.) They'll offer a warranty on every purchase. DON'T fall for it because even if your plants die they'll fight you tooth and nail over why your plant isn't really dead (why it was human error which conveniently isn't covered by their warranty.) They've asked me to dig the plants at my mother's home and bring it back to them (some are massive!) do scratch tests, send pics, it's never sufficient and frankly it's getting exhausting. I have spent thousands over the years on soil, plants, flowers, trees, bushes, etc. but I'm so over it. The customer service (at least warranty) provides little service as possible. I've recommended family members to them and they have run into similar issues and I'm just not going to make recommendations nor shop there myself. My recent issue was with a purchased Japanese maple under the 5-year warranty (which costs extra) and they refused to honor it due to human error. Yet the one I got in the front yard (might I add at half the price, from a company online) is doing fantastic. What I do recommend: buy online, or any nearby home improvement store - at least you'll get a deal so you're not out hundreds of dollars if anything dies or needs replacing down the road. I'm so tired of burning extra money for "quality" I don't reap the benefits of at Glover. (Adding this in response to the business owner below: I took the tree out yesterday that your team of experts just last week gave recommendations on for it having "viable signs of growth". The trunk snapped - all light brown, completely dead. And the only reason they had the idea of depth was because that is what I told them might have happened. You lost a customer. What a joke)

We are new to the area and this was our first year visiting the Merrill family tree lot. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant, the prices were very reasonable, and the tree lot had a very festive atmosphere. There were reindeer, a fun little merry-go-round ride nestled amid a corral of hay bales, an adorable double-decker bus, and a great selection of a variety of types of trees. They also had a number of other holiday decorative items on hand, including some small christmas tree stands (for those of us that were a bit unprepared.) It was a fun time for our whole family, and it was nice to support a local business, especially at this time of year.
