I will begin this by saying I am simply rating the staff at this office, rather than the doctor himself. Dr. Castleman is quite excellent. He is the cardiologist for myself, my father, and my mother.
He has given me excellent care, ever since I was hospitalized for cellulitis. Because I find him to be a great doctor, I suggested my dad see him, and then later last year my mom needed a cardiologist, and so he is hers as well.
Now, the staff here have proven to be extremely unprofessional. Today was to be my moms first official doctor visit at DR CASTLEMAN's office. Because I was an existing patient, all I had to do was check in and wait. As for my mom, she had questions to answer and forms to fill out. Before I made the appointment for both of us, I was reassured that we could be seen in the same room together. I did this with my dad on his first doctor visit as well. Well after I signed my name and checked in, I was instructed to do the same for my mom. Soon after, my name was called and I told the nursing assistant the situation. She said it was fine and she would just take my vitals, and come back for my mom. I thought it was that simple
... Not too long after that, the front desk and the nursing assistant for arguing right in front of me and my mom. They couldn't come to a simple decision to just allow the both of us to go in together. I overheard one saying that the doctor needed to go. My Point meant was for 8:30 AM and my mom's appointment was for 8:45 AM. The time was not even 8:30 AM, and I overhear them saying that the doctor needed to see me right away and leave.
It took me almost 2 months to make this appointment, and I hear that the doctor is in a hurry to leave. They shouldn't make me an appointment, if the doctor is scheduled to leave immediately.
I also don't see a reason why these women need to be so immature and argue in front of patients. My mom felt so awkward and so discouraged from coming back. I explain this to one of the ladies checking all my mom's information. She continued to apologize for the other ladies actions, and she was trying to reassure my mom not to be discouraged from coming back.
I adore my doctor and I honestly wouldn't go to another cardiologist if I didn't have to, but today's experience is just so unnecessary and extremely unprofessional. I've overheard other patients that have also been disappointed or upset with the staff here.
I've experienced more negative staff, and then friendly. I don't care if you're having a bad day, but you work in the medical field and you should always be professional and help make things easier for us patients. It isn't easy coming in to see a doctor. And then you end up being in the middle of some stupid disagreement. It makes things so awkward and just so weird.
