He said he didn't want to over promise and under perform which was nice to hear in a world where everyone promises the moon and delivers zip so I really respected that. As it turns out Ben and his team went WELL beyond my expectations. The team was easily reached if I had questions about my case and stayed in contact with me so I knew what to expect. The result of my case was not only the best case scenario but a dream scenario. The law firm of Summers, Ruffalo and Rodgers will do what it takes to take care of you. If you hire Roger Layne, you will regret it. My dear friend hired Roger to help with a divorce and…read moreI have sat in on some of the meetings and the mediation. Absolute waste of time and money. Zero communication. Lazy. Didn't even bother trying to settle case. Just ignored it and let it drag on until he was fired and a new attorney retained. Roger was completely negligent. This firm might be good, but Roger would rather watch a Vols game during mediation than actually take an interest in what's going on with his client. When my friend got his file, it was sloppy and the new lawyer could barely make heads or tails of it. Roger couldn't even bother having an assistant type up his hand written notes that are nearly illegible. The notebook pages were just scanned in and saved. Discovered motions for default judgment based on inactivity on Roger's part, that were filed by opposing counsel that my friend had never been made aware of (I wonder why...). Roger dropped the ball on interrogatories and somehow neglected to review or submit them FOR MONTHS. When opposing counsel did ask follow up questions, Roger "forgot" to tell my friend and said "oops, I dropped the ball..." When reviewing the answers, that had been given orally in a meeting with Corissa, discovered they were unprofessionally written, with information missing and inaccurate, additionally, paperwork (i.e. bank statements, etc completely missing). I had to go in and organize, correct and fix the file so that it made any sense at all and help my friend try to recover all the evidence and that was lost. At this point he had lost all hope and motivation. When you pay an attorney to care and they treat you this way, it's hard to stay silent. How this firm continues to keep him on board amazes me. My best advice... go anywhere else. Seriously. $5000 and a whole year wasted, just to start over with a better attorney who actually wants to help. Watching a friend be treated so carelessly during one of the hardest times of his life and seeing his hope slowly go down the drain was very upsetting. If Roger had any conscience, he'd refund the retainer as a gesture of apology and acknowledgement of mistakes made, but I doubt that will happen. Let me make this clear, I was NOT the client or party to this law suit. My friend was the client and I have had to pick up the pieces and help him through this process. Update: The new attorney has done more in 2 weeks than Roger did in the several months he "worked" for my friend. What a shame that this firm allows such sloppy work to sully their reputation.

Due to his injuries after leaving the hospital it was too hard to take him places for many months. But that was not an issue for Robbie. He got started right away and walked us through each step and constantly kept us in the loop of what was happening with his case. I will never be able to thank him enough for everything he did for my husband. I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone needing representation.

During these months, I went to several health care professionals to substantiate my case. I believe I did ALL the work and this firm did absolutely nothing to help me. I had one telephone meeting with an attorney at my request to help guide me on what to say in an upcoming meeting with one of the SSA doctors. The attorney acted detached and uninterested and was no help whatsoever. It makes me sick to think of the money this firm received for doing nothing. Danny Garland is hands down the best attorney in Knoxville! With nearly 30 years of experience, he…read moreknows the law inside and out, and elegantly outwitted our opposition every time. I witnessed first-hand his positive rapport with local judges and other attorneys in town for being knowledgeable, ethical, and tireless in his pursuit of justice. Danny and his paralegal, Carolyn, work seamlessly as a team to ensure i's are dotted and t's are crossed on the mountain of paperwork required throughout the process. This included staying on top of petitions, counter-petitions, multiple contempt violations, hearings, depositions, interrogatories, and countless records entered as evidence during the trial. They both went far above and beyond my expectations in helping me to obtain a favorable outcome for both custody and child support. I truly became friends with both of them throughout the nearly year-long court battle in a very high-conflict co-parenting situation. My daughter's father hired an extremely aggressive lawyer, and together they used every trick in the book to attempt to intimidate and bully me into submission. Danny encouraged me not to back down and gave me the confidence to keep fighting for what was best for her. Danny and Carolyn had my back unconditionally, coaching me through every step with empathy and patience. I now have the parenting time I will need to try and undo the trauma that has been inflicted upon her. As my review hopefully demonstrates, I cannot recommend Danny enough.

My experience with this law firm was extremely disappointing from start to finish…read more Communication was poor, and the level of professionalism displayed by the attorney, paralegal, and office manager fell well below my expectations. Throughout the process, my family and I felt dismissed rather than treated with the respect and courtesy that clients deserve. At the firm's request, we obtained a competency evaluation from my mother's physician. I was present during the evaluation, and the physician determined that she was competent and provided the requested letter. I promptly mailed the letter to the law firm. After two weeks without any communication, I called to follow up and was told they had never received it. After I sent it again, the office quickly located the document. This lack of organization caused unnecessary delays and frustration. If I could give them - 10 stars I damn sure would. When we arrived to execute the trust documents, my mother was taken into a private room and questioned for nearly an hour. While I understand an attorney has an obligation to ensure a client understands and is acting voluntarily, the length and nature of the questioning felt excessive, particularly given that they had already requested and received a physician's written opinion regarding her competency. The experience was upsetting for both my mother and our family. After paying $1,700 for legal services, we expected clear communication, professionalism, and respectful treatment. Unfortunately, our experience did not reflect those expectations. Although the fee was ultimately refunded, it did not change the frustration and disappointment we experienced throughout the process. Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend this law firm. I hope they will improve their communication, professionalism, and client relations so future clients receive the level of service they deserve.( they totally made my mom very uncomfortable prodding her with questions she didn't fully understand from what my mom said fit was like an interrogation) of an 87 year old woman). The way my mom was treated they should be disbarred!!!!!!!!'
