I am a 100% disabled combat veteran with PTSD. I have a hard time trusting people. But Jelks Law…read moreimmediately put me at ease. Leslie was the attorney who helped me with my living trust and will. It is important to me that there is NO questions about my wishes and that my loved ones are cared for. Leslie gave me confidence that things were done RIGHT! When you go, tell Eva at the front desk "Hey!" from Jerry.

Throughout the process, my family and I felt dismissed rather than treated with the respect and courtesy that clients deserve. At the firm's request, we obtained a competency evaluation from my mother's physician. I was present during the evaluation, and the physician determined that she was competent and provided the requested letter. I promptly mailed the letter to the law firm. After two weeks without any communication, I called to follow up and was told they had never received it. After I sent it again, the office quickly located the document. This lack of organization caused unnecessary delays and frustration. If I could give them - 10 stars I damn sure would. When we arrived to execute the trust documents, my mother was taken into a private room and questioned for nearly an hour. While I understand an attorney has an obligation to ensure a client understands and is acting voluntarily, the length and nature of the questioning felt excessive, particularly given that they had already requested and received a physician's written opinion regarding her competency. The experience was upsetting for both my mother and our family. After paying $1,700 for legal services, we expected clear communication, professionalism, and respectful treatment. Unfortunately, our experience did not reflect those expectations. Although the fee was ultimately refunded, it did not change the frustration and disappointment we experienced throughout the process. Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend this law firm. I hope they will improve their communication, professionalism, and client relations so future clients receive the level of service they deserve.( they totally made my mom very uncomfortable prodding her with questions she didn't fully understand from what my mom said fit was like an interrogation) of an 87 year old woman). The way my mom was treated they should be disbarred!!!!!!!!'

I was told by a legal person to contact Jay and Drew Clements for all the help I would need to get my wife on Medicaid. She has advanced dementia and had been in a nursing home for about 18 months and our money was running out. Both Jay, and his son Drew, were very friendly and helpful to me from the very first time I met them. They got all my information, then we met again and they outlined the plan I needed to start. They kept me in the loop with meaningful updates through phone calls, text and emails on a timely basis. They attended two court proceedings with me and did the talking. They handled my wife's and my finances so that she was illegible for and approved for Tenncare. Without them, I would never have succeeded. I feel that I have made two very good and reliable friends for life. Thank you Jay and Drew, you are both outstanding!

We also wanted to discuss naming our daughter as executor. Unfortunately, we left disappointed. We did not feel our specific circumstances and goals were fully heard or understood. Much of the discussion focused on problems with our existing wills and recommending an irrevocable trust. When we asked about the potential disadvantages, we were hoping for a balanced discussion, but felt our concerns were largely dismissed. We were also uncomfortable with the comment that having our daughter and son-in-law present was like getting "two for one," as they were included because of their involvement in the property and our estate-planning decisions. While we understand that an irrevocable trust may be appropriate in some situations, we expected to feel listened to and receive a thoughtful discussion of our options. Unfortunately, that was not our experience, and based on this consultation, we would not recommend the firm for estate-planning services. The cost was $309 ($9 was credit card processing fee) for about a 45 minute consultation.
