Since 2014, I've had the same primary physician. Well, no longer! I recently made the switch to Dr. Denise Erdem on a coworker's recommendation and I'm happy I did. First and foremost, a gentle and kind woman, Dr. Erdem, speaks proper English. I know that seems silly to say, but this was a huge factor for me. I may speak Spanish, but I don't like getting medical explanations in that language. Some doctors, while bilingual in Spanish and English, naturally default into Spanish with me, and well, that's a major pet peeve of mine. Good thing I won't ever have this issue with Dr. Erdem - she's as English as they come being from England herself! Anyway, language issues aside, Dr. Erdem is one of those doctors who genuinely cares. She has a great bedside manner and truly hopes to only see you yearly. She won't call you in for every little thing. Not to mention that she believes in natural methods, too, and prescribes pills as a secondary method. Oh, and she's realistic when it comes to money. She will tell you herself to go to the lab to get bloodwork done if your insurance covers it. There's even a sign about it. Other than this, you should be aware that her office is in Coral Gables in a garage that you actually get free parking for being a visitor. Score! How often does that happen in Coral Gables? I think the only thing left to comment on is the office and its staff. Not much to say really. This was the quickest doctor's visit of life. In and out and it was glorious! I did go on a Monday though, so the staff didn't seem to be as attentive as I thought they should be, but eh, it was a Monday. All things considered, I had a great first impression, and well, if this great first impression proves itself correctly, I'm sure I'll update my review and up my rating. read more

I don't usually leave reviews but this company deserves a bit of attention. The front desk girls must of come straight out of a 1980's NYC DMV office. There lack of empathy for the customer is insulting. And whoever this Erdem is has no handle on her office. This places gets 2thumbs down. Yelp should have an option to give negative stars. read more

I love Dr Erdem and her staff is great, the other posts surprised me actually, since I had such a great experience here. I don't really know if her staff is new but if they are, she did good because her team it's working great. She is now my family doctor and I'm thrilled! read more

This doctor is great. She is very pleasant and has very good common sense. Doesn't ask you to do unnecessary tests and listens to your needs. She doesn't rush you and apparently doesn't overbook patients as the wait time is normally quite short. I highly recommend her. read more

I had the worst experience ever with this doctor. Yesterday she charged a 29 usd for a 5 min consultation as my abdominal pain persists. Today I asked a letter indicating that I do not feel well as I need to stop my gym membership while I find what is happening. She said no they don't give those kind of letter. Apparently after a reflexion she changed her mind an accepted to give me the letter but paying 50 usd. Is that the kind of doctor that you want monitoring your health. Mainly in this unprecedented times. We need more human practices! read more

Been a patient of Dr. Erdem for quite a few years. Smart, always on target and willing to refer to a specialist when needed. Knows how to work with non-compliant patients; kind when appropriate but also ready to be tough. The staff is first class. Never a problem when you need referrals or your medicines called. Nice to have a team working with you and for you when you are ill and you need it the most. read more

I honestly think Dr. Erdem is an excellent doctor. She is without question intelligent and well educated. However, this is the third time they have failed to put either the quantity and/or DEA # on my prescriptions, forcing me to return to the office the next day and miss a day of medication. In addition, I have to wait at least 30 minutes past my appointment time every time and that just unacceptable. After being made late for work so many times by this office, I will most likely be finding another doctor. read more

I can't believe I'm reading so many negative comments about Dr. Denise Erdem's office. I thought she was amazing and so kind and sweet. She answered all of my questions and was helpful in every way. I'm reading comments about her staff being unprofessional and bad, but when I went I was treated perfectly. The girl that was working front desk gave me a list of gyno's to chose from and suggested I do my blood work at Quest. I was not there for long. I was the last patient they saw that day, so maybe that's why everything went smoothly, but I can't imagine it being any different. They called me as soon as they received my blood work. I'm very happy she is my primary doctor and can't wait till my next visit. read more

Where do I start. The staff is unprofessional and will!! be rude if you ask too many questions. To get a copy of a physical or any kind of documents takes 5-7 days?? Not even hospitals take that long. If you ask for a copy of something on your chart it is a tedious task and their facial expressions show how unpleasant you make them feel. The receptionist is constantly eating food and chewing like a cow. She is also always on personal calls, gossiping while at work. I've experienced her place people on hold while she chats to her friends. She will lie and tell people on the phone she's currently busy with an emergency. The doctor will schedule over 5 people for a 9:30 appt. so your 9:30 check up turns into a 11:30-12:30 pm appt. Also, she's(Doctor) carries baggage if other patients upset her- into your visit. Overall, the customer service is terrible and after all who can run a business when they don't care about the patient/customer. Avoid at all cost!!plenty of other good Docs in the area. Just my two cents I work with these knuckle heads all the time- steer clear. read more

Dr. Erdem is everything you want in a doctor. She is excellent and I can't say enough about how happy I am that I found her. Not only is she compassionate but she takes alot of time with you to not only listen to you but to explain things as well...she doesn't just go through the motions. She is really thorough and cautious. As far as the other reviews on her staff, judge for yourself why the yelp user Joanna L would go into such a long diatribe over a prescription call in. She sounds a little unstable. Seems to me like she needs an ego and attitude check. I have never had any problem with Dr. Erdems staff. Perhaps because I am friendly to them? Go figure? They have always taken care of me and even made room in the appointment book when I needed to be seen the same day. read more

I liked Dr. Erdem just fine, but I gave the office a 2 star review because we've had horrible service from her staff, particularly with regards to billing. Medical billing is frustrating and confusing enough, having to deal with doctor's offices and insurance companies, etc. Dr. Erdem's was my primary physician and an in-network provider for me. Her office made a mistake, confirmed by them, that they sent a bunch of lab work (blood testing and such) to a lab that was out-of-network for my insurance. The testing was done in November 2012, I received my first HUGE bill from this out-of-network lab in January, and the doctor's office assured me it was their mistake, to not pay the bill, and they would handle it. I heard nothing from the doctor's office or lab again until I received a notice in June 2013 saying the bill was way overdue and had been sent to a collections agency. Of course, I called the doctor's office, they told me they would call me back that day, I called again near closing time on the same day, they promised me they were on the phone with the laboratory and insurance company at that moment, and promised a call back. I said I hoped they would call me back that day as it's under my name at a collections agency. Of course, they did NOT call me back that day. Now I call and they are only open Mon, Weds & Fri. So I need to continue to chase them and wait another day to call them and see what's up. Big waste of my time, their error, and now my bill is at a collections agency! I'm sure it will be resolved eventually, and I'm not going to pay it, but the huge time lapse, no word until my bill is at collections, and then a promise of call back and no call back is SUPER unprofessional. I don't think my family will be going back. read more
