Later this year, I needed clearance for an upcoming surgery, which only required basic procedures like a blood test, EKG, an X-ray, and reviewing the results to confirm I was fit for surgery. My original surgery was scheduled for the end of July, but the hospital never received the necessary clearance documents from Dr. Thierry's office before the procedure. Since the surgery was rescheduled I only needed to repeat the blood work. I had the blood test done on Thursday morning, and it was sent to the lab. By Tuesday, I called Dr. Jacquemin's office, and the receptionist confirmed they had received the results, were preparing the documents, and would send them to the hospital that day--but they didn't. They failed to send them on Wednesday and Thursday as well. My surgery was scheduled for Friday morning. After another call to the office on Thursday afternoon, I was told, "We're working on it and sending it now" at ~3 p.m. I called the hospital 30 minutes later, and they still hadn't received anything. I called Dr. Jacquemin's office again, and they asked me to hold briefly. While on hold for 20-30 minutes, I biked to the office, where they finally told me, "We just signed your documents. We were waiting for the lab results and the doctor was with a patient". They lied to me because they had already confirmed on Tuesday that they had received the lab results. No apology, nothing. I spent nearly an hour there, making sure the hospital received everything. If you want to add a nerve-wracking experience on top of preparing for surgery, good luck dealing with this office.

First and foremost, a gentle and kind woman, Dr. Erdem, speaks proper English. I know that seems silly to say, but this was a huge factor for me. I may speak Spanish, but I don't like getting medical explanations in that language. Some doctors, while bilingual in Spanish and English, naturally default into Spanish with me, and well, that's a major pet peeve of mine. Good thing I won't ever have this issue with Dr. Erdem - she's as English as they come being from England herself! Anyway, language issues aside, Dr. Erdem is one of those doctors who genuinely cares. She has a great bedside manner and truly hopes to only see you yearly. She won't call you in for every little thing. Not to mention that she believes in natural methods, too, and prescribes pills as a secondary method. Oh, and she's realistic when it comes to money. She will tell you herself to go to the lab to get bloodwork done if your insurance covers it. There's even a sign about it. Other than this, you should be aware that her office is in Coral Gables in a garage that you actually get free parking for being a visitor. Score! How often does that happen in Coral Gables? I think the only thing left to comment on is the office and its staff. Not much to say really. This was the quickest doctor's visit of life. In and out and it was glorious! I did go on a Monday though, so the staff didn't seem to be as attentive as I thought they should be, but eh, it was a Monday. All things considered, I had a great first impression, and well, if this great first impression proves itself correctly, I'm sure I'll update my review and up my rating.

By the fourth question the doctor was visibly inpatient and he had the audacity to tell us to hurry up because he didn't have all day to wait. I can't tell you how upset we were. We left and never returned.
