For the interior work, I supplied the paint, for I was playing around with different shades, trying to match my couch, and also the faint colors on the wallpaper in the dining room. I was in awe watching Matt use a roller that extended further than I had ever seen before. The line between the accent wall and the wall paper was very straight, as was the ceiling lines, for I had a different paint on the ceiling than on the walls. I used Sherwin Williams Duration paint on the walls, for I was told this was a very good paint that would last for years. They did 2 coats, and waited to do the 2nd coat. A couple of areas one of the painters did where my husband tried to patch up due to settling didn't come out as I expected. After Kevin returned from vacation, he did come out to correct these areas. Since Matt and Andrew did such a good job, I hired this company again for my exterior work in September. (The exterior of my house was painted just 5 years ago, but all the trim was peeling, and I had several boards that were rotted. The company I used back then was out of business.) In September I told Kevin I wanted a job that would last 15 years, for I don't like dealing with the paint selection, nor the cost. My roof is a bit tricky, and I asked Kevin to meet me ahead of time with my current roofer, so the company felt comfortable on the metal roof, without denting it, for they needed to be on the roof to paint the set back 2nd floor. (They used boards that had some time of rubber backing, and thus stood on these boards painting the 2nd story in the front.) We knew 1 fascia board up very high had to be replaced. Once the house painting was underway, more boards were found to be rotted, so these were replaced as well, then primed before painting. Kevin also suggested I have my roofer investigate why the high up fascia board rotted in the first place. Great advice, Kevin. (As it turned out, my flashing around my chimney wasn't done correctly back in 2002.) Kevin also suggested I should have my exposed fascia boards covered with flashing now that all the boards are freshly painted, which I am working with my roofer on.) The exterior of the house took 4 days, with crews from 2 to 5 young men. Again, I requested 2 coats of Sherwin Williams Duration, and Paulson Painting supplied the paint this time. The first coat was sprayed on, then back rolled, and the 2nd coat sprayed. Trim was hand painted, again 2 coats. They covered my plants and picked up after themselves each day. Kevin dropped by 2 times during the 4 days to check on his teams' progress and quality. I thought I might have scratches on my deck from their ladder, but I didn't. They were very careful to not get paint where it shouldn't be. The only thing that could improve was the responsiveness of the office staff (Kevin's wife), who handles the payments, scheduling and inquiries. She is a very nice lady, but hard to get ahold of at times. The real test will be in 2026 and beyond. I hope the paint still looks great then.

His quote was not the lowest, but was right on target and much better than the outrageous quotes from some of the big flashy companies. The work started right on the arranged date, and the crew was extremely efficient. They pressure washed the entire house, even the vinyl siding that was not to be painted. The attention to detail was impressive, and care taken to tape and protect non-painted areas. They put in some long days to avoid weather issues! Throughout, Gabriel was instantly available and communicative whenever there were questions. Besides this, he and the crew were genuinely nice people to meet and have around to work on our house. I was a bit of a skeptic with all the glowing reviews but figured, let give him a shot and like many other customers, I couldn't be happier with this decision. Gabriel stands by his work and goes above and beyond with customer service. For exterior house painting, his bid came in competitive and he indicated he would provide 2 coats of paint. As we walked around the house I was impressed by all the items he was calling out that they would take care of after pressure washing and for prep along with his attention to detail. When they showed up to do the work, I provided input on a few things just to make sure that it wouldn't be missed during prep and they always said sure, we'll take care of it without hesitation. Gabriel even helped me understand their process further and explained a few things to me, which I appreciated. During the final walk through, I already marked a handful of small things with tape (inevitably there will always be a few touchups and polishing touches needed) and Gabriel was quick to add more blue tape for items that he would fix. We were needing to have an older deck and open porch restained at our rental property after…read morereplacing some damaged boards. I was impressed by reading the 5 star reviews on Yelp and contacted Axel & Aaron Painting. We sent photos of the job to Kimberly (as requested) first, and received thier verbal quote from her. Since we hadn't met in-person and the quote was just verbal off of the photos, we wanted to meet them at our rental property to review the scope of work. My husband and I met at our rental property with the two owners, Pedro and Kimberly, and all went well. My husband spent considerable time with Pedro discussing the prep work needed. We felt comfortable proceeding, and even told them about our next job, in hopes that they could also do that (if all went well). But on Day 1 things did not go well. Two workers came to pressure wash, but Pedro was never onsite. The workers were done and left within 2 hours, before we could get back to the rental to see the work. It's a large deck and large porch with raijlings, and we found many areas had been missed, so we called them to let them know right away. My husband sent them photos as well showing the mildew and dirty areas that still needed more pressure washing (see some of the photos). We expected Pedro would of course want to come back out himself that afternoon, or the next day, Day 2, since the prep and painting wasn't going to start until Day 3, so there was still time. Kimberly, after receiving the photos, was dismissive and told us by phone "this is normal and those areas can just be sanded before painting". You cannot sand away, or paint over the mold/mildew they left behind. I think it would likely have taken 1 hour more of pressure washing and they would stay on track to start prep and paint/stain on Day 3 (the second day of work) but there was no response or assurance from Pedro it would be addressed. That evening they sent the bid with an extra $300 add-on for the "option" of two colors "IF" we were to decide to paint the railings white. This was the first and only written proposal, and it seemed fair, so we were still ready to proceed. We just needed confirmation from Kimberly, or a callback from Pedro that they would come back to finish the missed areas since. There was no still no reply. Instead, the next morning, we got an email as follows: "Unfortunately, we won't be able to complete your staining project as planned. As we mentioned before, pressure wash was completed. Sorry we couldn't meet your expectations.". This is very unprofessional and caused us (and our tentants) a huge inconvenience. We saw RED FLAGS, and we were beginning to question if we should go any further with them. I am certain the quality would have been shoddy.

I am seeing a ton of positive things said about this company and that's great, however my…read moreexperience with Legacy Painting have not gone very well and after almost 2 months reflecting on this, I'm ready to share my thoughts. For starters we were looking to have our house painted. We had 3 estimates and based on professionalism and price, Legacy was the clear winner. 2 other positive things I'll say is the guy that wrote up the contract including repairs to the house and the gentleman who pressure washed the house were also good. This is where things get negative. The painters are Spanish and my wife and I are English and all communication was never very clear. There were days they waved goodbye and I replied "all done for the day" and they reply yes. But a few hours later they show up and go back to work. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal, but we have a dog that's not so stranger friendly and they opened the back gate why our dog was in the backyard. My wife tried letting the woman know "please don't come in" but she didn't understand, causing us to hastily get the dog back in the house. Other issues involving the contract to repair the house were ignored and just painted over what we paid for repairing. My wife tried reaching out to see why this had happened, but we really never got an answer. Parts of the house need another coat of paint, and as far as we know no one ever came to inspect completion and all pictures we take won't show the areas that needed extra work. The last thing I will say and what bothers me the most, we instructed days we would be out of town and didn't want anyone over for any reason. While on vacation are ring camera was going nuts and someone was walking around cleaning up. We had so many issues with Legacy my wife did try reaching out personally, but she never got a clear resolution. Talking to my wife about what we have as a finished product is very disappointing to her. She is the most reasonable person I know and is hoping to just get the paint used so we could just finish ourselves and move on.
