Avoid this company at all cost!
Three days before the scheduled removal of my tank, two people called me about the details of the tank and asked me why I wanted the tank removed or was I gonna sell my house. Then on the scheduled day, the excavators came early, and started the work. Again asked me if I was gonna sell my house and I said" NO". I stayed with them the whole time while taking pictures and videos. My tank had oil (which we already know since we've been monitoring the oil level after we shifted to central air in 2014 and was not ready to remove the tank due to budget constraints). I also took a video while the oil recovery company sucked up all the oil and scraped the sludge. Tank was intact. During this time, the excavators left to get refilling materials. When they came back the tank was already clean. Then Victor, did more digging and pounding to remove the tank out. When the tank was out, there was one big hole at the bottom part of the tank and then Victor, said "this is gonna fail inspection". Then they called for that Mr. Hugh to talk to me. Hugh said: " You need soil remediation and that costs $8,990.00, and that they will do everything from testing and getting the clearance from DEP because the tank will surely fail in the inspection. I said "NO" I will wait for the inspector to inspect it. I was so confident that the inspector would say the hole was from excavation puncture. The excavators told me that the inspector will not get there until after 4 hours because he was doing other inspections. Mr. Hugh told me that he will call the inspector. Suddenly, right there and then the inspector arrived. Without taking a close look at the hole, filled out the orange slip and said something to the excavators and handed them the slip and left. "Tank Failed" Victor, the excavator said. I was so disappointed of the actions demonstrated by these people right there in my presence. Then after telling Mr. Hugh I can't afford that money, he said "you are selling your house, right? Again I said NO!. Then told me they have sent the quote to my email to approve. They quoted $8,990.00 for soil remediation. I insisted that they leave the ground open and the tank at my place because I wanted to get some ideas of what to do and have everything in case an investigation was necessary. But Mr. Hugh and Mr. Keith insisted to take the tank and refill the excavation, leaving it in an unfinished state. Now, they left me with an open case with the DEP caused by their negligence or whatever intentions God knows. The ground was left not covered properly. Much of the gravel used for refilling were left on top of ground. Super frustrated and deeply disappointed with the outcome. Has given me so much hassle reaching out to DEP. I was trying to hold off paying the balance but they were trying to harass me using their lawyers. I just settled everything but with a heavy heart. Anyone who can help me reachout someone like a Consumer Protection Agency please help!!! Will never recommend ...If you don't want to go through what I am dealing right now, stay away from them at all cost! read more
