It was very difficult at first to locate a place because my son is disabled and I needed a building with an elevator in a certain area. I contacted Caryn and Dave at Apartment Solutions in Naperville, Illinois. They stepped up immediately and fought so hard for me. I cannot say enough good things about this team! Dave really pushed incredibly hard to make sure everything went through. Thanks to their absolute dedication, they came through in less than two weeks with a beautiful 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom rental complete with elevator and garage parking. If you need a team that will truly go to bat for you when the pressure is on or you are looking for a team to help you find housing with dedication to your specific needs, look no further than Apartment Solutions! Wanted to look at an house and received the following message from the Realtor at John Greene…read more There is an up front fee of $50 to setup the viewing of the house, and a 3.5% buyers commission (non negotiable if you put in an offer) that a contract must be signed prior to viewing the house. While I understand the laws have changed around buyers commission and sellers commission fee, the percentage requested up front is more than the average commission received by sellers today... usually it's 6% total (buyer/seller) and 1% goes to the sellers company, and selling realtor gets 2.5% to 3.0% and buying realtor gets 2.0% to 2.5%. Even then everything should be negotiable between the buyer/seller which is what the law was changed to mean.. Would not recommend anyone deal with Amanda from John greene Realtor.

We had recommendations for several realtors from neighbors and friends, but Barbara impressed us with her answers, and ultimately we are very glad we went with her! Not just for the insight and experience she brought (for example, when we were crafting an offer), but also her relationships with other realtors, and also the excellent recommendations she supplied for various vendors (attorney, mortgage broker, movers, inspectors; in the case of the movers; they get so much business from her that they gave us a discount!) Home buying and selling is generally a stressful experience, but with Barbara's experience and advising it was as smooth as possible. We have already recommended her to others!

We interviewed three realtors before making our decision. The data pointed us toward The Alice Chin Team, but what sealed it was a simpler question: who would I take into a boardroom or a high-stakes negotiation? The answer was Alice and Jim, without hesitation. Every step of the process was polished, seamless, and refreshingly honest. They brought professionalism and genuine warmth to what can be a stressful journey, and we had a lot of fun along the way. We achieved both our price and time goals, a result we are incredibly proud of, and one that came from the right preparation, the right positioning, and a team driven by excellence behind us. And then there's Jim. Jim is one of those rare people who makes every room better the moment he walks in. Charismatic, warm, and genuinely fun to be around, he's the kind of person you find yourself wanting to call just to talk. But don't let the warmth fool you. Jim is also one of the most honest professionals I've worked with. No spin, no games, just straight talk and a relentless commitment to doing right by his clients. He went above and beyond at every turn, anticipating needs before we even articulated them. If you are lucky enough to work with Jim, you will understand immediately why people who work with him once never go anywhere else. If you want a luxury experience to sell your luxury home, this is your team.

Our experience with Alice Chin was extremely disturbing. I encourage anyone who is considering…read moreusing her as their broker to take my review very seriously before moving forward with her. Throughout our transaction, we experienced inappropriate pressure and resistance regarding us using our choice of inspector and our decision to have our inspector support us during our final walkthrough to verify that mold was remediated properly. A buyer should be able to rely on their agent to protect their interests--not feel pressured or undermined during one of the most consequential parts of a home purchase. In general, anything we asked for, such as updates from the sellers about repairs, she framed as atypical and unreasonable. We felt very gaslit by her. What is even more unacceptable is her subsequent public discussion of our private transaction and personal disputes on her public podcast, presented entirely from her perspective and without important context. Having private client information discussed publicly without our consent was deeply disturbing and a serious breach of the confidentiality I expected from my broker. Given Illinois law's express requirements concerning the confidentiality of client information, I believe the disclosure may have violated applicable legal and professional obligations. In it she also decided to call my husband and I (who she earned considerable commission from) as "bad people" and "bad clients", along with sharing other disparaging characterizations of us. In her podcast she literally admits to greywalling us, mishandling our miscommunications, and being purposely unhelpful. I had held off on posting a Google review and just wanted to put the negative experience working with her behind me but discovering her podcast left me no other option but to post so that I could warn other prospective customers. This was not simply a terrible customer-service experience. It fundamentally undermined my privacy and interests during a process that is already incredibly stressful. Her unprofessionalism and lack of ethics is unbelievable. Alice - I'm sorry your feelings were hurt being called unprofessional and unethical (which you mentioned on your podcast), but actions speak louder than words and that's exactly what you are.

After applying, we agreed to a 16-month lease term and were fine providing our own washer and dryer, even though we were initially told during the tour that the landlord would replace them. Since the home had been on the market for 60 days, politely asked if there was any room for negotiation on the rent. Even if they had declined, we still likely would have taken the home. Instead, we were completely ghosted. Despite numerous calls and texts, we received zero updates -only to discover they were still scheduling tours for the property, despite telling us that applying gave us first right of refusal. Coming from a sales background, this severe lack of communication is extremely frustrating. Worse, we lost out on another property while waiting to hear back on this one. It was a complete waste of our time and $100 in application fees. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
