We have been clients of Equitable Adjustments for almost 11 months. In that time I have never spoken directly with either lawyer at the firm, nor have I received a single document relating to our case.
I was not made aware of our case being moved from one lawyer to the next, nor when it was moved back again. In June, EA filed against our insurance company which gave them 60 days to respond accordingly or else a lawsuit would be filed. That time has come and gone. According to the paralegal I have been told to correspond with, the insurance company stopped responding 6-8 weeks ago. Yet, again, no lawsuit was filed. Nothing whatsoever has been done. I am continuously told they haven't heard anything from the insurance company, but no action is being taken to move forward.
EA has reports stating there were trace amounts of dangerous black mold and unsafe levels of household molds, our attorneys have stopped doing their job and fighting for us. Meanwhile, we are stuck living in unsafe and unsanitary conditions with small children. They boast on their website that they understand the urgency in resolving storm damage quickly and that living in moldy or damaged home can cause irreparable damage. They also boast that 86% of their cases are resolved within 90 days. But what they don't say is that if your case takes more time and effort than that, they will put you on the back burner and focus on the cases that can make them a quick buck.
The communication in this firm is horrendous, as is their customer service. I went into their office on Oct 28 to track down the lawyers and get some answers as to the plan for our case. One lawyer and the paralegal both refused to speak with me and passed the responsibility to the other lawyer who was in court at the time. I reluctantly agreed to a conference call appointment with him the following morning at 9am. I then sent him an email giving him 48 hours to provide me with all documents pertaining to my case and to release funds. He has yet to comply or call. read more
