Super clean, luxury gym. The staff is nice, always friendly and welcoming, and easy to "check-in" on the app (instead of at the front desk each time). When you join, you get $100 for the Equinox store (carry all major brands), and a free personal pilates session and a private PT session. I will point out they really PUSHED signing up for both after I completed my first sessions, which was annoying. I simply stated that private PT sessions are always super expensive, and on top of a gym membership would be way too much. Instead of accepting that, they pushed (in person and by email) to sign up for "just 2-3/week". I did not appreciate that in the beginning (lucky for them I was under a 1 year contract and couldn't leave just for that). They have something to offer everyone in the way of classes- pilates, cycling, yoga, running, and all types of HIIT. Absolutely loved some of the HIIT classes I took; the downfall is they have very limited times (during the week the latest class is 6:30 pm, and 5:30 pm on Friday). The popular classes get filled up FAST, within 15 minutes (you can set a reminder but if you're not available to book you're out of luck). Weekends also have very limited classes (only in the am). The gym itself is nice, lots of equipment available, pretty small floor space though and can get packed certain days/times. They do a great job of having clean sweat towels (and cool sweat towels) available and the gym is always super clean; they actually mop after each and every class, and spray down equipment. Gym, bathrooms, and showers are always very clean. Although a bit overpriced, they do offer spa services (facials, massages, etc.) and private training sessions (including for pilates). This location also offers a free steam room (other downtown location has a sauna as well), free lockers, and Kiehls products (shampoo, conditioner, body wash). I always appreciate they have little items available for after the shower- hair ties, q-tips, mouthwash, hair dryer, lotion, etc. Downstairs they have a juice bar, again with weird hours. Overall, I love the gym, just wish they offered more classes. read more

It feels like going to a spa every day --- truly. I joined for the amenities like a steam shower to be honest, then ended up being enticed by the actual gym. It's always clean. You get some free sessions with incredible trainers when you join (and they don't push you to purchase at the end of the session). It's a delight to go. The employees are always nice greeting you at the door. I lost something today in the locker room and went back at the end of the day -- it was found and waiting for me. The gym is super nice. Lots of equipment and classes. But why do the people who work there wear club clothes on the floor? I get theyre sales people but they're selling gym memberships not dates... right? It's a little odd to see someone in a tight mini dress walking around the gym in heels. Just my opinion! Read reviews here and then decided to check the place out myself. Wanted to go to this location because I believe it's the newest one, even though the other closest one is a 4 min walk and this one is 8 min for me. Staff was super nice and sweet. Greeted me at the door with a smile. Everyone in the gym has a great attitude. Super helpful. Trainers seem knowledgeable and professional. The sauna is great. Clean. So far loving it ! read more

Best location next to Boston commons! Although the trainers are a huge pain point at this location- ironically at this location they are the ones that lack gym etiquette rather than the usual case of fellow members. At this location I've had several instances of trainers taking something I'm actively using, not wiping down equipment after use, and not re racking weights with their clients. There is also way too many of them at any given time, and will call/text/email about scheduling a meeting so so often- I'm a night shift nurse and was woke. Up so many times because they called twice in a row and got through dnd. I've asked so many times politely for it to stop, just all around ruins the "luxury" gym experience and something I would expect to put you with at an LA fitness not equinox. read more

One of the worst gym experiences of my life, ironic for a gym with claims of a premium experience. When I signed up in June, I informed the trainer that I am a student and only in Boston for 2 months. He told me that this wasn't a problem at all and we proceeded with the registration. When it came time for me to leave, I emailed 2 weeks in advance to cancel my membership. This time I was told I would need to provide concrete evidence of relocation and needed to give 45 days notice so I will be charged for the subsequent month even though I won't be here. The initial trainer never brought these deceitful police's to my attention and I believe I was purposely misled into signing a 1 year contract with them. 45 days is just insane. If I was to follow the 45 days notice, I would've needed to submit my cancellation request a week into my membership. What an absolute joke. The manager also did not handle the situation with any care at all. Furthermore, I had to go through 3 trainers to schedule an equifit. The first 2 reached out and when I expressed my interest they just ghosted me. The equipment is also extremely mediocre. My local gym back home which costs $30 a month has very similar equipment. I was excepting much more for the price. For a gym that costs about $210 a month, this is one of the worst experiences you can get. My friend was going to sign up and I told him about my experiences and suggested he go elsewhere. I suggest you do too. This was my first and last time at any equinox. read more

Froze my membership with 6 1/2 hour training sessions remaining, when I unfroze my membership these sessions were missing from my account and my training session balance was 0. Called MULTIPLE times about this issue and was told the same thing each time "management will look into it and email you about it asap". Going on 4 weeks now of this. The Spa has been closed since 2019. The equipment is never maintained. Locker rooms are dirty. Staff are hanging out and having a good time, never working. I give this club 6 months before they shutter their doors. read more

Signed up for this gym using my company corporate discount. Alexandra was my first impression of the place. She was very friendly and open/honest about the membership package. It's expensive, but IMO worth the price. It has everything I'd want; clean locker rooms and clean equipment, extra amenities, lots of space between equipment, and plenty of free classes. Never gets overly crowded, and I never have trouble finding equipment. I also don't get any bad vibes from the other gym members here. At other gyms, I was too intimidated to go in certain areas (eg free weights or benches) because there were too many gym bros taking up way too much space, hoarding equipment, staring at girls, etc...basically the worst. The members here, however, are respectful, mind their business, and I feel comfortable around everyone I've encountered so far. I also have Sheila F as my personal trainer and I can't say enough good things about her. I hadn't been in a gym since Covid, and am dealing with chronic pain issues. Sheila gave me a lot of my confidence back in exercising and created a custom plan that's working really well for me. read more

This gym is the best! I never was a "gym person" or even one to work out all that much.. until this gym came into my life! First of all, it is BEAUTIFUL. Very well-designed, particularly the yoga and barre studio (which I am in the most often). Speaking of which, the classes are wonderful. Huge selection and the Barre and Pilates instructors (Kayleigh, Jolene, and Ali in particular) are amazing. Very approachable, super-nice, yet they push you to do and be your best. And last but not least, the best part of my Equinox experience is my trainer, Leah. She is beyond amazing.. kind, caring, supportive, funny, incredibly knowledgeable, creative with work-outs, and the progress I have made since I started working with her physically and mentally has exceeded all of my expectations. I can't recommend her highly enough-I always look forward to my workouts with her (even though she pushes me really hard!). It really feels like we are a team and I am so grateful to her! So, try Equinox Seaport out.. well worth the monthly fee and just an overall awesome experience. read more

This place isn't worth it. There's no pool. There's only 1 good instructor for the group cycling classes here. Poorly designed area, not that many amenities that you can enjoy other than the lounge. The equipment is very limited because this place gets busy and is mostly occupied by trainers. The management is not very helpful or proactive. I've been a member in other cities and so far, this is a letdown for having the Equinox name. read more

Conveniently located in the Seaport. Poorly designed with lots of empty wasted space and not much equipment. Tough to workout in mornings and evenings with all the army of trainers taking up majority of the gym. They do have nice locker rooms if that is important to you. read more

I have had 2 interactions at this gym and neither of them have been positive. The people who work here are extremely unfriendly, unwelcoming, and rude. My most recent interaction (yesterday) was inquiring about paying for a day pass - something I have done MANY times at other Equinox locations in Boston as well as NYC. The woman at the front desk explained "Equinox is a membership only gym, we only let members in." I explained this is something I do and have done before and she said "maybe those other locations allow it but we only let in members." NORMALLY, this is an opportunity to ask if i'm interested in a membership and would be willing to sit down with a membership specialist but she was absolutely obnoxious and is clearly lacking in the customer service arena. TLDR:: Staff here is uninformed and rude. I will never be going there nor will I ever consider joining an Equinox again in the future (I was a 3 year member in NYC). read more

When I went to cancel my membership, I was sent a contract that I don't remember signing with four signatures that look nothing like mine (or even my name). When I asked about it, I was given no clarity and was just told my account has been canceled now and was charged (without warning) the remainder of my 45 day window I needed to pay for. This entire experience just seems like a super shady business practice. Update: after reaching out per their request, I haven't heard back and it's been two weeks. read more

The facilities are nice but their business practices are unethical. Due to a change in employment status, I have tried canceling within my first year of membership, as is permitted in the membership agreement. I have tried to cancel at the front desk, over the phone, and over e-mail to Member Services, multiple times. At the front desk or over the phone, someone "takes your info down" promising someone will follow-up, but they never do--hoping you'll just forget about it and keep paying. Member Services also never responded to my e-mail. I finally talked to the manager in person in December, who despite agreeing that I was OK to cancel, never followed up with me to finalize like he said he would, and hasn't responded to my direct e-mail from 10 days ago where I provide proof of my change in employment. Yet I keep getting e-mails about how Equinox is "unable to collect payment" with my card on file--yeah, that's because I literally can't afford it anymore! It's evident that if I *could* afford it, they would just keep charging me indefinitely, despite no longer wishing to be a member and not using the gym for several months now. And of course there is nothing I can do to close my account myself--it has to be done by someone at the club, who has it in their best interest NOT to close it. This is totally inconsistent with my experience canceling at Equinox Back Bay in the past, who handled it without issue. read more

First impressions over the first month: clean for now, a lot of non local downtown workers, stretching area is full of dropped weights , bunch of guys resting on the flor and making selfies; all training areas minus one are full of guys just standing and chatting for hours, bunch of girls walking 5 mile an hour for an hour with full heavy makeup, small changing room with chatting women groups about health and weight problems with full coverage makeup also; some guys pulling just 10 pounds and making extremely painful faces... like they are giving a birth for 12 h to mega big baby, others sweating heavily on a bike under minimum resistance 3 !!! The best was a training session where payed trainer left the customer along several times. It's also dusty and hot, to hot for any mild or serious workout. read more

The facility itself is nice. Wasted a large amount of space on the lounge, but the gym floor is well maintained and the classrooms are well done. Beautiful windows and nice lighting. Customer service has been awful. I have been trying to contact my membership adviser for MONTHS to get a question answered about an issue on my account. The adviser had no problem calling me and emailing me weekly before I was a paid customer! I have stopped by the front desk 3 times to be told she would call me within 24 hours - months later still no call from her. I have also submitted a formal complaint on their website which was left unanswered. I also referred a friend and have been actively trying to find out when I will get my referral bonus. I know several other people that are members at this location that are having the same issue getting their referral money. Its a shame that for such an expensive and overall nice luxury gym, the customer service is so poor. read more

Jack the membership Advisor was awesome, kind and super knowledgeable! They offer a ton of classes and I never have any trouble signing up. The mornings and immediately after work are a little crazy. There tends to be a line for the showers especially around 7:45am and 6:30pm but that's to be expected. I do notice a ton of staff members hanging out on the floor. Some with guests but many just huddled around the massage tables and stretching area. The machines are clean and new and all the staff I've interacted with have been really pleasant. read more

Equinox coming to the Seaport is one of the best things to ever happen to this part of the city. It's one of the nicest gyms I've been to, with gorgeous views of the city. The classes are fantastic, and they keep adding more (which is good, because they book up quickly). There is also a lot of equipment, and everything is in good shape because it's all brand new! It does get crowded, especially in the morning and early evening, and finding a locker can be a bit tough at times. That won't stop me from coming back, though! read more

Ah, that new gym smell. I thought I'd mix it up this morning and try the new Seaport Equinox. I usually go to either Franklin Street or Avery here in Boston. Given that today is only the first full day of operation, I'm sure some things will change but I thought I'd provide my first impressions. The locker rooms are very nice, as they are in other Equinox gyms. I will say that it does seem a tad smaller than other locations and the lockers are a bit smaller too. They changed from the electric locker locks to mechanical ones, which I assume will be less prone to jamming. The locker room is equipped with the typical Equinox amenities, which are wonderful. One major upgrade is that they now have face wash in the showers. This is great for me because now I literally don't have to bring anything with me to get ready in the morning. I hope they roll this out to other locations. Also, the steam room is massive but no sauna. If I had one gripe it would be that the sinks are motion sensor activated, which I found to be annoying while shaving. The gym floor itself again is slightly smaller than other locations but this morning it was pretty quiet so no issues getting my workout in. I was pumped (no pun intended) to see 4 full power racks and tons of benches. A really nice upgrade in this location are the barbell clamps v clips which are awesome if you've never used them. There are two dumbbell areas which I'm sure will be nice when more people at using the gym. There was a healthy population of cardio equipment (again, no pun intended), but I did notice that a number of treadmills were reserved for a group exercise class. This was fine for the number of the people in the gym today, but I could see being annoyed about this if it was full. Honestly, this is an amazing gym as all Equinox gyms are. Just be prepared that this location is slightly smaller than other locations but has awesome equipment and amenities. read more
