The communication was fantastic and I got photo updates of my horse throughout his trip and during his layover. He made it home safe and sound. Pick up and delivery times were both on schedule and it was a really easy process to move him. Everyone was incredibly responsive during the planning phases of the trip. They did such a great job and I'm very happy that my horse was so well taken care of while he was with them. And the drivers, incredibly professional and gave regular updates during his trip. i was quoted A 3 day window after they got to the hub in Texas. Which was not where my horse was taken. I had no address or known location of my horse from the start. it turned into almost 2 weeks of not knowing where my horse actually was. to being told multiple excuses for why my horse didn't ship. to my horse dropping 200lbs because i had only packed enough hay to last 6-7 days which would have given me a few days to transition him to new hay. they swapped his hay cold turkey twice before he arrived to me. Not one single time did they mention to me how much weight he had lost. It was significant and even my uneducated horse friends were appalled they then refused to help me until i got my very much non equine husband to talk to them. only then did they finally give me a full refund...after they practically held my horse and starved him. he came to me with cuts on his face among many other issues no horse should have to deal with at the hands of neglectful humans i had documented everything. i had to get the vet out to evaluate him. im not the only person who has had similar if not worse experiences with this company.. be very cautious shipping any animal with them. they are very much business only and no care for the animals themselves read more

After spending weeks researching online, calling, making a Word document comparing and contrasting 18 of the best commercial and private haulers I could find (being OCD and a worried horse mom is beneficial.. sometimes), I got the best overall feeling of security from Equine Express. I was moving across country from CA to OH and didn't want my kids going with just anyone. I did my research, and vowed that whatever company made me feel the most secure, would receive my business, no matter the cost. Luckily, EE not only gave me the "warm and fuzzies", but they also came in with the lowest quote out of all the haulers I contacted. Neither one of my horses were used to being trailered, and I have an older Arabian gelding who gets extremely panicky when anything in his little world is altered. So peace of mind was KEY to this selection. A week before the boys left their home, Greg from the main office knew I was road tripping to get to our new home, and he went above and beyond suggesting the safest possible route for my husband and I to drive across country. He didn't have to call and tell me to avoid the northern routes in the winter, but he did, and he went completely above and beyond to make sure we had a safe route. If that isn't friendly customer service, I don't know what is. Overall, the experience was awesome. My boys arrived in excellent body condition, hydrated and happy. The dispatcher kept in constant contact with me, so much so, that I didn't feel the need to call in or pester :) Pickup and drop off were perfect timing and the guys made sure to position the truck appropriately so the horses wouldn't jump off in my icy driveway when dropped off at our new home. I've used this company twice, once a few years ago from GA to CA and again recently on the return trip. Great first experience, not great the second time. Drivers were great, communication was pretty good although they changed pick up times alot. My horse was with them for 5.5 days including a 2 day layover at their facility in TX. I sent two large three string bales of Timothy hay with him. Discussed with the driver, wrote down in multiple places, and talked to the office staff that is ALL that he should be fed. No other feed or hay and requested he had hay available on the drive as well. When he arrived in GA he had lost a good bit of weight and only a QUARTER of one bale was used... Around 5 flakes. Over 5.5 days. I know he was likely stressed, probably didn't eat much especially in the trailer but that is not an explanation of what happened for two days in a stall at in TX. I'll never know if he was just fed the grass hay at their layover facility or if he was not fed at all. But I do know he wasn't fed the hay I sent him and lost a significant amount of weight on the trip. Unfortunately won't be using these guys again. read more

While he didn't leave on the exact date I had originally asked for, Max & Mike did keep in contact with me & I always felt like I knew what was going on. I shipped my horse from Maryland to Colorado and cannot say enough good things about Equine Express! Excellent communication skills and bent over backwards to help me coordinate flying back to Maryland from Colorado to meet the truck. I was a bit of a nervous wreck shipping my horse, and Amanda patiently answered all of my questions and was always cheery and comforting that they would take care of her. Drivers on both ends of her trips gave me an hour window and arrived right on time in addition to also being incredibly friendly and personable. Darwin made sure to let my horse sniff him and gave her some pets before walking her out of the barn...an incredibly nice gesture, especially considering it was 2 in the morning! Caleb was also really gentle and sweet with her when he dropped her off in Colorado. She looked great and he was sure to tell me how much she had been eating and drinking, which I really appreciated. It was a tense situation this time because the Michigan location was in a much deeper CV19 lockdown than Texas . I had also already just been ripped off by Cross Country Express for a deposit after confusing the two companies. Don't make my mistake. Go directly to Equine Express and don't risk your information to Transport Quote Companies like ''Uship'' . Equine Express' Mike Alexander and Meghan were both professional and kind. Their business covers multiple trips from their site each week in every direction and they keep current with the highways, roads and byways of the USA. Each time they have had the most competitive rates or close enough not to matter when it comes to their safe hauling rigs and equine savvy. My pony was due to come to TX from Michigan when storms were predicted in and I would be at work away from home. Equine Express worked with me and kept the mare over the weekend at their facility . They even updated me with pics over the Memorial Holiday. All of the transporters were knowledgeable and comfortable with the ponies. The last driver was even quite comfortable driving over a cattle guard that friends with smaller trailers don't like to maneuver over. The Seller on the Michigan side of the ship let me know that she was also happy that the pony she was parting with was making the trip on such a nice vehicle and with professional drivers. We were referred to this company from a lady that owns a boarding facility down the road from us. They gave us a quote that seemed quite fair. Easy to book online and get a hold of if any questions. We were transporting out of state and were new to the process. We couldn't have been more impressed with this company. They moved our pick up time around but once they committed they were punctual. The semi-truck they used to transport our Mare was beautiful! Our neighbor, that sold us our horse, called to tell us they saw Equine Express coming down the road. She thought the "Clyde's Dales were coming to town". When they dropped off our horse in AZ, at 5am, they showed up right when they said they would. Even the facility, on the receiving end, were impressed with the professionalism of the drivers and company. They'd been driving through the evening and were still pleasant. A++++++! These guys are THE BEST. Hands down. I had a bad experience with a previous hauler, and so I was extremely nervous about shipping my horses from California to Tennessee. Equine Express patiently and promptly answered every single email I sent. On the day of arrival, they called me when they were about 150 miles out to tell me what time they were coming. I asked them to call me about an hour before their expected arrival, and they did. They showed up on time, and demonstrated absolute patience with my big guy who can be a nervous Nellie. They told me to call or text anytime, and when I did, they were more than happy to speak with me and give me a full report of water and food intake, and poop and pee. They let me know when they were arriving to the yard in Dallas, and they called me a few times to check in. They took care of all my special requests with no hesitation. I received multiple calls regarding their departure from Dallas and expected arrival time in the Nashville area. Again, they showed up on time, and my horses looked as good coming off that rig as they did getting on. WARNING do not count on Equine Express. I scheduled a move to the NW from Texas in January 2018 for a move at the end of April. They sent me an email shortly after I inquired and Greg wrote that they had another horse going and that they could make the trip. I checked in early March and they told me that my horse would be moved either April 23 or 30th. Over the next 6 week the repeated assured me that they would take my horse on one of those dates. Each time I called them, I spoke with someone named Caleb and each time he'd say "I was just working on it" and I'm waiting to hear back from the others. After I moved from Texas, I was expecting my horse to be picked up. I left early so that I could be there when he arrived. For the two weeks after I got here I called them several times and they always assured me that he was still going as scheduled. To make a long story short, here it is the last weekday before my move and I have not heard from them. They told me that they would let me know by the end of yesterday. I have had to scramble to find another provider. By not being honest with me, they deprived me of the opportunity to work with an honest business and get my horse out to his new home. As I interviewed other transport providers, I explained why I was being so last minute. A couple of the providers asked who I was working with and when I told them Equine Express, they said they had heard that they did this (see other review here with the same story as mine). One other said they they didn't understand how they had so many five star reviews with all of the other people they left out there high and dry. I agree. Don't count on them. read more

Equine Express is the only.. only!! Big Rig hauler to go with! They are amazing! We shipped our 2 senior quarter horses from Paso Robles, ca to Sedro Woolley,Wa. The drivers Billy & Brandon called an hour before they got there and were right on the money! Such nice men!! Gracious and very horse savvy! gentle. the van was amazing.. very clean and horses on board looked very happy! My horses who have not been hauled in 15 years.. hopped on and got in their stalls.. all ready to go! Greg at main office was terrific with communications through out the entire process! I called to book a transport a month and a half ago for my mare to be moved from Baton Rouge to Columbus, NC. I explained to the person who took my call that I was selling my house and would be closing on June 18th. I stated that the mare would need to be picked up during the week of June13th. I was assured that this would not be a problem. I also called a week before the trip to make sure that my reservation for a box stall and departure date were confirmed. Received a text from Caleb on Monday the June 14th asking if I still needed transport for my horse. I was flabbergasted! It seemed like they didn't know that I had reservations. I couldn't get Caleb to call me he only responded via text. On Wednesday, June 9th, Brook called me and told me that the pick up would be on Wednesday the 16th and that they would be bringing the mare to Dallas and holding her at the facility for an undetermined time frame and then putting her on the next transport headed East. She could not give me a delivery date. This notification/communication was at the last minute leaving me in a bind, days before I close on the sale of my house and head to North Carolina. That being said, my experience with Equine Express was very disappointing & totally unacceptable. read more

Equine Express was EXCELLENT!! We shipped our big gelding from north of Seattle Washington to Los Alamos New Mexico. He was there in 48 hours and arrived in great shape. I was nervous about it, never having shipped a horse before, and Trace had only been trailered to local trail rides in the past. We opted for the box stall because we wanted Trace to be free to turn around. He was acting up at first and they knew exactly what to do. He settled down after the truck was underway. This company has a LOT of experience. The driver Jared was a total professional and very pleasant. I especially appreciated how he enjoyed the horses he was caring for. Kept me apprised of his location and how the horse was doing. The booking process was clear and easy and they made sure all my questions were answered. I have had horses all my life but always bought them locally, in December 2017 I saw two nice looking well broke geldings on a Facebook post, they were at an Arkansas kill pen lot where unsold horses will be put in a semi trailer for a one way trip to Mexico to be slaughtered. So I buy these two horses now how do I get them from Arkansas to Washington State??? First I asked my POC at the Arkansas facility who she recommended and she sent me some names and numbers for small haulers but I decided to go on line and look for a commercial equine transport company, up popped Equine Express. I checked their website, checked the Yelp reviews and decided that this was the group that I wanted to hire to move my horses. Mike at the EE office was very helpful and the quotes for the cost to pick up my horses, provide them with their own roomy box stalls during the trip, haul them back to their facility in Pilot Point TX where after a few days rest they were put on their rig and hauled up to Washington was very reasonably priced. I really felt comfortable with the whole process with this company. The driver also contacted my POC at the Arkansas facility for the pick up and she had a great experience during the pickup and loading of the horses with this company. The horses came off the truck calm and dry after the two day trip to Washington. I got calls from the drivers during the trip on how the horses were and their route and ETA up to my place. Not only were my two horses on the trailer when they arrived but another horse that was going up towards Seattle to get dropped off plus they were going to pick up a few more horses the next day in Washington to haul south with. When I met the driver he told me that this company is also the major hauler for the SE colleges that have equine programs. They'll go up to those college campuses and fill up their rigs with horses going to competitions. How cool is that! Definitely recommend this company and will use again in the future. read more

Terrible communication! I read great reviews so I really wanted to use them to transport my horses. I followed all the appropriate steps to set up the transfer and they dropped the ball. When I first called to set up the transfer, I was told the date would not be a problem and I would hear back from them when the time got closer. As time got closer, I never heard from them. I called and was told someone wrote down the wrong month. To make a long story short, I ended up having to call them numerous times because they would always say " we will work on it and call you back". Not once did they ever call me back. Best experience my horse and I ever had. They were great with me on the phone and understanding when I had to switch moving dates a few times. My horse was picked up on time and I communicated with the drivers as well as the dispatchers during his trip. I really wanted to give a higher review, but the only easy part of this for me was the initial call and planning. I called about a month in advance and they were very accommodating, and said we would plan for a pickup on my requested date. I understood that the date might not be exact, which was fine as they have a lot of transports. My date was then confirmed, and on the day of I didn't get a phone call or email; I called and they said no date was ever solidified. We then planned for the following week which was fine with me. As the date approached, I was called and told the date would have to be pushed back. I wasn't put off by this until they called yet again and told me they couldn't accommodate the same trailer loading because they "didn't realize I had a goat." I had told them during the initial request and phone call that I had two horses and a goat, and had confirmed it on the phone 3 separate times. The pickup date then got pushed back another week, but was confirmed for 3am on the following Friday. I got a call from the main line the day before pickup saying they may be 2-3 hours late, which was no issue for me. My boyfriend and I then stayed up and waited to hear from the driver and for the horses to be picked up; we did not sleep while we waited and we received zero communication from the driver(s). I was never given the drivers number, and I wasn't able to get ahold of someone until almost 9am the day of pickup (I had to call the main line which then told me to get ahold of the driver instead of contacting them from the company line); and it wasn't until then that they told me they wouldn't be there for another hour, now making them about 5 hours late. Their loading went well, the transportation seemed to go alright (I only received 2 phone calls in the entire week duration they were being driven from the east coast to the west coast) and their drop off was fine. I just wish there was more communication all around. I likely won't return to this service! read more

I had an absolutely wonderful experience moving my Morgan mare with Equine Express. It was a flawless transport from Palm Springs, California to Arlington, Texas. From the moment that I called the office to book the transportation date, to the moment that my horse was dropped off in Texas, the entire process went smoothly. They were on time for the pick-up, and they arrived earlier than expected to the drop off point. I was updated often on her progress. My mare had not loaded in a trailer in over six years. She walked right up the ramp with Mike and into her roomy box stall. I was a nervous wreck about shipping her, but my mind was quickly put at ease once I saw how careful and considerate the Equine Express staff actually was. I've used Equine Express twice now. Both times the service was EXCELLENT. Lots of communication, the horses were picked up and dropped off when quoted. My horse arrive relaxed and in excellent condition. The first time I used them I moved 3 horses from AZ to Northern CA, one of which was my elderly gelding, the drivers were patient with him and he looked completely un-phased by the whole trip when he arrived. This was not the case when he was shipped to AZ (by a different company) a few years earlier. The second time I shipped 2 mares from CA to KY one of which was a rescued mare that hasn't been handled a lot and definitely not shipped cross country. Again, they were in excellent condition when they arrived. Equine Express will now officially be my go to for equine transportation. read more

I booked my ride for my 4 yr old mare from Michigan to Texas. Communication was extremely poor. Two weeks out from date of delivery I had to call them to make certain we were still on even though they said they would call me. Five days prior to my pick up date they call me saying they have a problem! They can't come to Michigan to pick her up and could I deliver her to Lexington KY!!! Mind you I booked this trip 6 weeks out. That was impossible for me to do so they said they would find an intermediate shipper. Don't you think they should have called me with a solution to THEIR problem not call me with their problem? That's what I'm paying them for! On Monday, four days before their scheduled pick-up, I get a call from another shipping company (mind you I HAD to call them to find out if they got an intermediate hauler, which they did but never told me the haulers name, and my horse would be picked up Tuesday or Wednesday of our scheduled week). Monday at 5:15pm I get a call from the intermediate hauler telling me they are 12 miles away and will be picking up my mare. I told them I did not have my travel papers because I wasn't expecting her to leave until the following days. I had to drive over an hour home and then an hour back to pick up her travel papers! My horse ended up spending the night in Pontiac, MI then the next day it was taken to Lexington KY where she spent the next few days waiting for Equine Express to pick her up. I never ONCE received a call from the company telling me where she was!!! I always had to call them and they still couldn't give me an arrival day in Texas. "It could be Saturday or Sunday"! Really? I was willing to pay extra for a date certain and yet I got treated poorly. Never again will I use this company. There are other companies that communicate better with their paying customers. read more

If I could have given them 0 stars I would have. I needed a simple job done. I needed a horse moved from Dallas to Houston. Easy enough, as the company is based out of Pilot Point. Right? Wrong. The first week they told me that they couldn't do it for me. Understandable. After all it was short notice. The second week they told me they could do it, and that they would call me on Thursday to confirm they would transport my mare that weekend. Thursday passed and Friday came without a call, so I called them..AGAIN! He tells me "we might possibly be able to transport her this weekend". I'm sorry? Now it's a possibility? This 'company' is unorganized and they gave me the run around. Maybe they are only focused on out of state ordeals. I would recommend that if you have an in state transfer..SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE AND DONT USE THEM! read more

We had one company bring him across the border and EE bring him to us in Colorado) and he arrived in great condition. They were very polite and prompt on the phone when scheduling and touching base. He lost a little weight... As they do when traveling cross country but nothing to complain about. They stayed in touch with us the whole trip and let us know how far out they were when it was approaching his ETA. Then... My horse decided the rig was pretty cozy and was not feeling getting off. The driver was very patient and calm and took his time (it took about 10 minutes to get him off) and never once rushed or pushed him. They moved my horse and burro from KS to WI and the communication was excellent, the care my guys received was outstanding and timelines met (early actually). These two hadn't traveled in a trailer for several years, and the drivers were very gentle and kind - took their time with them, although with the kind of set up they have for loading, it was pretty easy. I was very concerned about their transport, but we're moving and wanted to take them with us. I couldn't be more pleased with this company and am happy to say so! I too read the great reviews, unfortunately, I had a terrible experience. Since my horse was traveling so far, I got him a full box stall so he would be more comfortable. My horse traveled from Minnesota to Northern California with a huge head wound that he received traveling from Minnesota to Texas. The injury was under his forlock and for circumstances that I do not know, because Mike never got back to me, he was never seen by a vet. When my horse was delivered, 7 days later, I was shown the wound. When my vet came to treat, the wound was already starting to show signs of infection and had to be reopened, and the dead skin flap cut away and cleaned thoroughly. This is the day my horse arrived he had to be tranquilized. When I told Mike about the head wound, he was going to look into what had happened on his end. He even asked for my vet's name and number. Needless to say, I never heard back from him. Thankfully, my horse healed with no scaring and settled in nicely. I will not be using Equine Express again nor recommend them to anyone. read more
