A few months later I started showing, and subsequently - fast forward to December of 2024 - I bought my first horse with Hannah's help. Hannah has made me feel incredible comfortable in a completely new world. She knows her stuff and looks after the horses incredibly well. I always love my time at the barn and Hannah has helped me push myself to improve. She is an incredible riding instructor and trainer, and I truly can't recommend her enough. She has made fall in love with the sport - that also helped me through some pretty challenging personal times. Highly recommend if you are looking for a family like barn experience.

Hannah is extremely patient and kind and has helped me along in my very short riding journey. I value her as a trainer and friend so much! She is extremely compassionate and understanding. She will never make you feel bad about your riding, rather provides positive feedback and a plan of action for improving at your pace. The barn is like a second family. From the horses, the riders, and their families, Laurel Ridge Stables has really created a safe space focused around community, determination and good sportsmanship. I always joke saying I'm healing my inner child but it's true. Working with Hannah and the horses have changed my life. This barn is a show barn, so the barn participates in shows in/out of state (mainly in Texas). I started showing this year and it's such a fun way to get more involved and work towards a goal. No matter how young or old, there's always room! The lesson program is wonderful and each horse has something to teach (just be sure to say thank you and give lots of treats)!The horses are all well taken care of and barn is beautiful. There is an outdoor bathroom on site and a sink to wash your hands. If you thought about horseback riding and didn't know if it was possible, please know it's completely feasible and worth it! I've ridden at Foster Farm for two years and it is the best place for English riding lessons in…read moretown! Located on a beautiful facility just south of downtown and operated by the best saddleseat instructors in town. I had ridden American Saddlebreds as a child and had no idea that Foster Farm was just up the road. It is the only Saddlebred farm in the downtown area and they are filled to the brim with championship riders and beautiful show horses. Giving your child the gift of horsemanship is irreplaceable and I highly recommend Foster Farm as a starting point. The trainers specialize in starting young and aren't afraid to teach little ones. And they can carry riders all the way up to championship status. It's an incredible sport, unique, and so very different than many other disciplines out there. The facility has gorgeous trails as well if you're interested in that! I can't say enough about Nicole, Stephanie and Hugo - the Foster Farm family is the best place to ride in Dallas.

Arrived for our first lesson on a Sunday afternoon....no-one at office…read more. no one around except other riders...ask a rider, young man, where we were suppose to go. He directed us thru two barns to our instructor. She was nice , a little rough. but nice. She told our daughter to go pick a hat. What?! We had NEVER ridden english and had no idea what we were suppose to be looking for. But we picked one, which ended up being to big. She had our daughter get on, now our pony looked like a underfed old barely able to stand older pony. I felt very sorry for the little thing. We were lead around the entire barn area twice...then taken to the covered arena , where another lesson was being conducted and I think we intruded. After about 3 times around our instructor told our daughter that she had another student and she needed to get off. I was very very put off from this experience. I guess the western world is a little more friendly....or perhaps I chose the wrong English place for our first lesson. Needless to say I canceled our camp reservation. I think I can do as well as they did. I do NOT recommend this place.

Owner is full of himself thinking he is above other people and has the right to put down children…read moreand boarders in front of other people. We boarded there and were looking at buying a saddle from Kai, the owner and while trying to negotiate a price, he called my daughter a barn rat. There was also a lot of insanity around him not allowing people to leave with their horses once disgusted by his terrible manners. Literally tried blocking the exit until people threatened to call the police to remove their own horses! This man is unhinged, very unprofessional, and extremely rude.

She makes sure to treat each child as if they are special, and my child has been no exception. I admire her for such attention to detail, her open communication about the children to the parents, her professionalism, and her nurturing, caring spirit. She treats the kids as if they are her own. The way the children are cared for and learn is very important to her. She is always willing to lend her expertise to the teachers and always looking for ways to improve the program. She is always willing and able to listen--and it's genuine. The way she greets each and every parent and child by name and with a smile each and everyday shows how she takes the time to get to know them. Mrs. Magee represents the school well. Parents who want their children in the best of hands when they are away appreciate her. Since the management change two months ago, this facility has unfortunately gone downhill. My…read more2-year-old has come home with more unexplained injuries in the last few weeks than in our entire two years here. These wounds are often not treated properly, and there have been multiple times where no incident report was filed -- and neither my husband nor I were informed by staff. The assistant director, Vanessa Ortiz, has extremely poor communication skills. It often takes more than a full school day to get a response to emails about serious issues like injuries. When we've tried to address concerns in person, we're met with excuses, not answers -- and certainly no sense of urgency. Also, if you have an issue and ask for the teacher's names (since we don't know their names due to so much turn over), don't expect to get them without the director reaching higher above her and then telling you to reach out to the area or regional director :) Shockingly, some teachers have even stepped in during conversations with other staff and *yelled* at us while trying to defend one another. The stories we're told rarely add up, and it feels like there's a serious lack of transparency and accountability. Supervision in the classrooms is clearly lacking, and poor communication seems to be used as a cover-up rather than a fix. There has also been an alarming amount of turnover among staff and students in just the last two months alone. That said, I want to give a huge shoutout to Mrs. Margie, Mrs. Wanda, and Ms. Jasmine. These amazing ladies are the only reason we're waiting until summer to pull our son. We truly appreciate the love and care you show our baby -- thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

It was worth waiting for them to be available for my son. Teachers were very supportive, gave us suggestions and helped our sons development. The office staff knew our cars so they called our son as soon as I turn into the driveway and he was ready to come out when we park the car, we didn't wait to pick up our son. We enjoyed attending every events like the open school, grandparents day, and Christmas, not only to see my son but others growth. What we liked was their menu too, they had fish day. They care what nutrients to give children too. We were sad to leave this school.
