This place has the most comfortable chairs and they recline so when I watch movies at the theater it feels like home

Went to see "Song Sung Blue" on Christmas Day. The newly updated seating was a big bust. The seats were among the most uncomfortable we have experienced. Then...it came to our attention that the movie had been moved from one theatre to another and there was a very last minute shuffle of people who had purchased their tickets online and were forced to move to other seats. I was furious for them! And to make matters worse....Bought a large popcorn and it ended up being scraps, not hot and tasted stale. The way the concessions are done now, there was no way to talk to anyone to get a new bag. Shame on Epic. The staff is almost non-verbal and not helpful at all. read more

Don't go on the weekends. They sold me a ticket for the wrong movie and the wrong size drink. Also waiting for the drink was a mess. They never called my number and after waiting for 20 minutes I went up to ask about it and it had been sitting on the counter. No one told me it was there. The refreshment system is a mess. read more

Saw Song Sung Blue, the best movie I have seen in years. Saw it with my husband, then went again with a friend. The true story of a Neil Diamond impersonator, but much more than that. The Neil Diamond impersonator was a Vietnan tunnel rat, then an alcoholic. Amazing movie, with no words kids should not hear. Also, the recliners were great read more

The new seats are horrible. I have had back surgery and they were so uncomfortable. I went to see the Tom Cruise movie and was so disappointed in the seating that I will not be going back. read more

I don't go to the movies very often. Between the prices, and the obscene political wokeism that has engulfed much of Hollywood, I've decided to spend my money elsewhere. However, I put my personal feelings aside with the long awaited release of "Top Gun - Maverick." Tom Cruise is an expert at his craft, and does not try to indoctrinate people with his political beliefs. Instead, he does what he does best - act. Epic Theaters in Palm Coast was the perfect spot for us to view this LONG awaited sequel! The theatre was clean and neat. The seating comfortable, and the staff super friendly and accommodating! The movie was.....awesome. Period. Entertaining, heart-pounding, and FUN! That's what a summer movie should be! Bravo, Tom.....nicely done, Sir! Thanks Epic Theaters! read more

We hadn't been to this particular theater since they renovated the inside so we were excited to give it a try. Probably will not go back. The girl working the concession stand clearly did not want to be there that day even though we were one of the only customers because it was a Tuesday The previews are way way way too loud. Ear piercing!! The worst part of the experience was actually the seats that are new. We thought because they were reclining that they would be quite comfortable but getting into them is difficult because they are high up like a tall toilet and you feel like a little child with your feet dangling. You can't really sit in them unless you actually recline but the seats do not fit well in the lumbar or knee area. For fun we tried to sit in the lounge seats at the very bottom and laughed because you have to crawl to get into them. Not a smart way to spend so much money! read more

We arrived 15min early and ordered food on their ordering displays. After waiting 20min they decided to stop using that system and it was a free for all where they just grabbed receipts from people and started filling them at random. Mind you, by this time there were at least 100 ppl trying to get their orders filled. I voiced the fact that people had been waiting and the lady flat out ignored me. I went to customer service to get a refund. They told me the refund had to be done at the refreshment counter and when I told them it was chaos over there they literally rolled their eyes and told me they were just one person having to do everything. I ended up not getting the food I paid for so my kids wouldn't miss the movie. So come 2hrs early or don't bother coming at all. Worst movie experience of my life. read more

New to the area, we like to go to the movies. Epic Theaters apparently is the only group in the area with new feature films. The theater is a bit dated, the seating is regular Stadium Style. It's the only game in town, so I guess we'll be back. read more

This is poorly managed and it passes down to all employee's. Sunday 8/27 at 6:30 showing. Movie never started - employee's kept coming in saying anytime will start. After an HOUR waiting now they say "go stand in line at customer relations" (30+ minutes to get your money back!) How about the $20 for food never eaten waiting for movie to start, manager says can't take that back. BOTTOM LINE: I purchased 2 tickets on line #PAL00094381 so not to wait in line. I walked out after waiting 30 minutes for the refund (just tickets not the over priced food) From now on its always another Theater driving to Daytona Beach - Never Epic. ***The week before went to see another movie at same Epic Theater had a double charge on my credit card, contacted Epic, never to hear back. Asked the Manager behind the food area if I can get some jalapenos for my nachos and she said they were out when you can clearly see the costco jar in the fridge right behind her. She was just too lazy to take it out and put some in a container. The worker at the register was kind enough to do it for me. read more

Seats don't recline, only one ticket machine in the lobby, the bar, I won't say it's a bar, wasn't even open. Didn't even need to buy a movie ticket, there's nobody checking you in. The a/c was comfortable, the theater sound wasn't overwhelming. There was no garbage tossed and the seats weren't sticky from abuser's. Which is a plus, in our opinion.I guess we'll have to see if we want to go back. read more

I would like to start the review by saying the employees were very nice, I went here yesterday to see Hobbs and Shaw. The seats were comfortable, clean theater, and the ticket prices were competitive to other theaters that I would've had to drive far out of my way to anyways. If you're getting water at this theater you have 3 options. 1. They have two water fountains on both sides of the theater that are ...decent at best, the water comes out a little bit colder than room temperature and the pressure of the water fountains vary drastically to where one will shoot water well over the fountain and onto the floor. I usually don't like drinking out of water fountains because there's always the question of how clean the fountain is but the theater for the most part was very clean excluding the vents on the lobby ceiling when I first walked in that were covered in dust. 2. They also offer bottles of water that are $4.50 for a Dasani bottle (20 oz) and a large bottle of Smart Water for $5.50 (1 liter). Which is pretty self explanatory. I hate Dasani and figured that the double in price for not even twice the amount of water would be worth not drinking Dasani. The smart water was ice cold and tasted perfect! Almost made me forget about the poor financial choice I had just made. 3. If you are looking to avoid the movie theater tax of buying an expensive bottled water they have a complimentary water, which is about the size of a water cup in a doctors office waiting room (approximately 10 oz, Maybe less.) when I asked if they had a larger size I was told that you would have to pay for the cup as if you were getting a soda , which was at minimum $4.75 for a small cup of water, 25 cents more than the Dasani for presumably less water. I stuck with my Dentist Office lounge cup of water and it didn't taste bad , but also didn't taste much different/better from the water from the water fountain. Would have been a better if it lasted longer than the walk to my theater from concession. All in all not a very good hydration experience, but I'm sure you can bring in your own water. Epic Theatres Palm coast has went from the nice new movie theater to the worn and exhaust hot spot. This place was amazing when it opened but as time passes this place just seems to not keep up. The seats seriously need to be redone or replaced and also in the bathroom the tile is missing and the hand dryers look like something from a horror film. I went to the movie theatre and my popcorn had some sort of bacteria or something on my popcorn, hurting my friend that ate the popcorn. She had inflamed intestines and was very hurt after. Not to mention the oral sex going on 3 feet from usif you look closer it is green not black. Not to mention the trash bags full of popcorn they keep... but who knows about that hmmm? read more

The theatre was nice and clean and the box office line moved quickly. I wish the seats were a tad bit more comfortable and the individual theatres were cleaned between screenings. The parking was ample and the restrooms were neat and tidy as well. Overall, I had a positive experience. read more

It's a shame that the local movie-going public is at the mercy of this theater's idiocy. I tried to like this theater. I really did. It's a new building, they show movies in 3-D, and they serve wine and beer. So far so good, right? Unfortunately, if you buy your ticket online, you still have to stand in the line to buy tickets in-person. (This line often extends to the sidewalk.) This is because, despite the new building, Epic Theaters Palm Coast does not, for whatever reason, have ticket vending for credit cards or pre-paid tickets. It's 2018, not 1998! Yes, you can go into the building and stand at the customer service desk for your pre-paid ticket, but you still have to wait until one of the ticket sellers has a moment to print your ticket. Remember when I said the line goes to the sidewalk? The ticket sellers do not have a spare minute. You have to wait anyway. If you plan your day ahead by checking their website for movie times, at best you will have a 50/50 chance of those times being accurate. Just today I, and two other groups, asked for the 5:30 showing of an Oscar contender, only to be told by an over-worked, underpaid employee that there is no 5:30 showing, and that "sometimes the website is just wrong." So, I guess check the website, and then call to confirm? On another recent outing to Epic Theaters, the movie's sound was broadcast with narration for the blind (the screening was not meant to be). I and another patron (we did not know each other) went to the front of house to notify an employee, who assured us the sound would be fixed, with their apologies. Ten more minutes into the movie, and the sound was not fixed. Thankfully, I received a refund. Oh yes, and sometimes they hang the movie posters upside down. (I really wish I'd saved my snapshot of the poster for The Beguiled outside the theater, in which the women somehow just hang from the ceiling.) I've given Epic Theaters Palm Coast even two stars because, as incompetent as their corporate/management is, the employees somehow have infinite patience. Three groups need to be told there is no showing as advertised? No problem. I need a refund? No questions asked, here you go. If a theater franchise is looking to expand, may I suggest the Palm Coast area? Obviously we need another choice when we decide to spend our hard-earned money at the cinema, and obviously Epic Theaters needs a healthy dose of competition. read more

went to the Mt. Dora location to see 3d movie with the family. the theater was hot no ac. we reported several times to be told it had been put for a week. we were swetting badley. my son and dad had to watch the movie from the hallway because it made them sick. I spoke with the oddity manager who refused to give me his name or another managers contact information. he said he would found our money till he seen the whole theater in that room was just as up set. then back peddled to offer free passes. problem with that is a pass is only good for a regular priced movie when we paid almost 14$ for our tickets to see it in 3d. plus was told by staff that 3 room total was that way and had been. so that says they knew that it was out and sold tickets anyways. this is wrong in so many ways. read more

Clean theatre, relaxing atmosphere, and fast lines. I went to this movie theatre to see a matinee movie with a friend, Crazy Rich Asians. I usually don't watch movies at movie theaters, because I prefer watching them at home. If I do go to the movies, I always go to St Augustine. The drinks were pricey but the positive aspects of this theater surpassed the prices of food and drinks. The seats were comfy. The theater was not so crowded. I was told the price of a movie ticket was $6 on Tuesday. That was the day my friend wanted to go. read more

This is my closest theater so we will definitely be back however I have to say that other Epic Theaters that I have gone to had recliners. I was very disappointed about the lack of recliners. They make the movie experience and we are heartbroken that our nearest theater doesn't have it. Disappointed!! read more

First, I would like to state that I rarely "complain" but unfortunately, my experience tonight at this theatre was so less than satisfactory that though I would much rather be in bed, cuddling with my husband, I am here...complaining. I have had positive experiences at this theatre before tonight. My husband and I decided to catch the 10:50 screening of World War Z in theatre 14. First, there were no local advertisements, filler, ect. playing before the coming attractions. Not the worst thing in a world, but now in hindsight, definitely a sign. Coming Attractions come on and "Oh hey, projector is not centered on the screen. Well...i guess someone will fix it in a second...oh wait...the movie is coming on...um...hey guys...center the projector!! Maybe if I can telepathically communicate, someone will check and adjust the screen!! " Alas, no such luck. So being a paying customer, I took it upon myself to step out and let one of the employees know that the movie is not centered on the screen. Teenage kid, summer job, totally could have cared less, responds "Why dont you tell the manager YOURSELF." UM. NO. So I turn, see the manager in the ticket booth, and I sure I could have walked all the way across the lobby, but hell, I just paid to see this movie and why should I be missing out when they're not even doing their job to begin with, so told the kid "You tell him, you work here." So I settle back in my seat awaiting the correction/adjustment and none ever came. Okay. Let it go right? Trust me, I tried. I have usually seen an employee poke their head into the theatre once or twice while the movie is playing, so I figured when that happened, they would notice the movie was not centered and would fix it. Nope. No one ever came in and we watched the movie at a downward angle with a huge ass gap at the top. So about halfway through where there was a break in the action, I ran off to the bathroom. Then, curiosity got the better of me, so I walked into Man of Steel next door. Yup. That is what the movie should look like. Perfectly centered on the screen where World War Z in theatre 14 was so low, there was about 3 feet of screen space at the top. Armed with knowing that I was definitely not imagining things, I tried again. Same kid. "Excuse me, but the movie is not centered on the screen. Its way too low." Him - "Oh well, the manager checked it and it was fine..." Me - "No, its definitely not." Him - " OH...well thats just the way that theatre is...Theatre 14 plays the movies LOW." ....................UM. REALLY? So in conclusion, I would like to say that I am not trying to disparage this teenage's boy's attitude and summer job. I am disappointed that not only no one took the responsibility to check a customer's "complaint," but that they were also indifferent. I said something, not once, TWICE and NOTHING was done about it. Obviously, Management should manage better and properly train these young up and comers about customer service. Hey, If your gonna blow me off, cool. Do it like "No problem Ma'am, we will get that taken care of right of away." And not like "No, YOU tell the manager YOURSELF!" I know its Sunday, but if Im gonna get that kind of quality screening with rude employees, it will be definitely more bearable if there was a discount for "Less Than Average Showing, Lack of Quality Control and Totally Rude Service." read more

What a breath of fresh air! If you are used to big city theaters or just overly crowded suburban theaters, you will feel a big difference when you come to this one. The prices are cheaper, the entry/concession area is more spacious, and the seats are simply more comfortable and roomy than any other I've experienced. You won't feel rushed, you won't feel shuffled through lines, and you won't feel the back of the seat in front of you pressing against your knees. As another reviewer mentioned, there is a small waiting area that has tables and chairs and a big screen showing previews. I've never seen anything like this before but I thought it was brilliant! I'm always arriving early to movies because I get anxious about lines and finding a good seat. Well, since that is not an issue at Epic, I found myself just hanging out in the waiting area while the theater was being cleaned in between shows. I guess this is also a small party space, since there was a leftover "Happy Birthday" sign strung across the ceiling. My only complaint was that the film cut out at a critical point in the movie I was watching. But, the staff took care of it as soon as possible and even checked in with us to make sure they had restarted it at the right point in the movie. Even though this was disruptive, I liked how it felt like we were all in it together rather than at other theaters where if there is a problem you have no idea what's going on. Epic Theaters is our go to location when visiting our parents down in Palm Coast, FL. It is pretty standard as far as seating and concessions go (no super plush recliners at this theater), and you don't have to choose your seats ahead of time. A nice feature that this theater offers is a weekly showing of "classic" films. We were able to see both Back to the Future and the original Psycho while we were on vacation, and loved it! My one word of advice here is do NOT buy your tickets online. The theater doesn't allow Fandango, so you have to go direct through their site. When you purchase through the site, they charge more than they do at the box office and also did not have a senior price as an option. And they charge a convenience fee. I ended up returning my tickets when I arrived and buying them back (had to have a manager do it), and got $15 back! read more

My wife and I went to see Tenet at 6pm last night, August 31. We very exited that the theater had reopened end even more excited to see the movie. The volume of the movie was EXTREMELY loud and painful during any action scene. The final action scene was PAINFULLY loud and my wife had to plug her ears and I almost did as well, which is rare since I am a Marine in an ARTILLERY unit. After the movie I along with other patrons expressed our complaints and discomforts to the person "in charge" and was only given a "sorry". After the movie on the drive to the grocery store and then home me and my wife's hearing felt like we had just left a 2.5 hour rock concert....in the front row. As I write this 18 hours later I am noticing a continued hearing loss. This is UNACCEPTABLE, every parton trusted your associates would check on the theater and the quality of the movie and it's patrons since they were in the theater multiple time before the start being seat police. We are very DISAPPOINTED in the care taken at this theater. We both are seriously reconsidering ever returning. read more
