Ocean Walk Shoppes

Many restaurants and bars and very few stores. Definitely a tourist site. Both the Daytona beach bandshell and Ritchey plaza are located there. Tight on the boardwalk.

We look forward to coming to bubba Gumps when coming to Daytona. This visit was good except my food. My son and his friend ordered crab legs and chicken tenders fries and coleslaw. We also got 2 appetizers. So far so good. I ordered the I'm Stuffed Shrimp and I crave this every year so I was excited to eat this and it was horrible it tasted so fishy I couldn't even finish it, and I've had the worst upset stomach since we have left. So disappointed.

Ocean Walk Shoppes is a three-story shopping, dining and entertainment complex overlooking the Atlantic, a sort of mall turned inside-out. They have a number of chain restaurants, such as Adobe Gilas and Bubba Gum Shimp Co., as well as some shopping and the only movie theatre on the beachside. It overlooks the Daytona Bandshell, a historic seaside stage which features free concerts by local jazz and blues bands on weekends. The place is well lit, patrolled by security and is a far-cry from the seedier Main Street / Boardwalk area just south of there. Parking is in the garage across A1A; it's pretty cheap with validation. I can only give it three stars because I am starting to get tired of these nouveau redevelopment areas, which feature the same mall-like atmosphere in every city they invade. But that's just me. It's a decent place to spend an evening--the same evening you can spend anywhere else in this great consumer nation of ours. End rant.

This is more about the restaurants and the movie theater. During the summer there are Saturday night concerts for free with fireworks. On some Friday's there are other free concerts. The "shops" are not really worth coming for.

Boring and way over priced. I have seen much better places in any average indoor mall food court.

I checked out a few shoppes after eating at Bubba Gump. Very pricey and not too much of a store selection.

After we decided to grab a drink at the tiki bar and ended up sitting out by the bandshell enjoying the beautiful scenery and view for about 3 hours.

This time was my first time ordering food, and I was pleasantly surprised with the chicken BLT wrap. It comes with beer braised chicken, avocado mayo, bacon, lettuce and tomato. It was flavorful, and felt slightly healthier since it wasn't fried. It also came with a plentiful amount of French fries. The theatre itself is very comfortable, with reclining seats, and trays that you can place in the cup holder of your chair, and make it easy to enjoy your meal or snack. Will probably be back next year, to check out whatever new release movie may be out at that point!

Basically it was soda and popcorn and that was it. Soda machines are regular style and not like the Coke Freestyle machines so it's very limited in options. We had bought the Atmos theater option expecting the full surround sound as advertised. It felt like the movie was almost muted or lower volume level in general. It was odd. The recliners worked and floors appeared clean, but the armrest and cupholders were oily and sticky. Next - if your app is having issues, please post on website or social media instead of hoping people fight with it for days. The almost $10 convenience fee seemed a bit excessive especially for 4 tickets. Other companies tend to waive that fee when it's 4 or more tickets or if you're part of their rewards. We did not receive any reward points for tickets or concession due to the technology issues. Icing on the cake for the way things were going at that price...

My tour group was allowed to watch a race car hobbyist club drive their cars around the track which was really cool to see. This review is strictly on the Rockville event they host here…read more Rockville was always a fun event to go to but Unfortunately, every year now the same thing happens... it rains, and they either cancel or evacuate. When they evacuate, the process to get back in is excruciating. A giant line forms when everyone is trying to get back in, and then you start to miss bands you wanted to see. Also, what use to be bands playing for an hour, this year played for 30 min or less. Changes need to happen. And you should start by Changing the date of when this event is held. I can't imagine going back and having to deal with the extreme heat, get rained out shortly after and be uncomfortable the entire festival. I'm sure many others are starting to feel this way.

The woman at the entrance was kind and helpful, though she spoke so softly my ADHD brain had to lean in like a detective--but her directions were spot on. Inside the main building, the art from Cuba was the star for me--bold, vibrant, full of life. Some of my absolute favorites were in the Cuban art section--each piece felt like it was humming with its own frequency. The geometric painting (the one drenched in deep reds, burnt oranges, and that sharp black hourglass shape) hit me first. It's bold, mathematical, yet somehow spiritual--like a coded message meant for anyone perceptive enough to catch it. Very "guardian-spirit-meets-mid-century-modern." I stood there longer than I expected. The giant ancient sloth? Unreal. I wish they'd place a modern-day sloth beside it, just so my brain could process the scale without glitching. The bug/kids section was unexpectedly adorable. The kids were living their best lives, and honestly, I was right there with them--zero shame. I did drive over to the second building for the "It's a Ship Show" exhibit, and okay... I see what they did with the title. At first glance I read it as "It's a Sht* Show," and for a split second I thought MOAS got sassy. The artwork leaned heavily into still life, and to me it felt more like pieces you'd find in an upscale lounge, a refined boutique hotel, or a polished restaurant--visually pleasing but not as emotionally stirring as the main gallery. Just my personal taste. I could've spent more time wandering around, but I was on a first date with someone who kept making me laugh. I felt like the loud kid in class trying to stay quiet in a museum. Overall, great value, memorable art, and a surprisingly fun atmosphere. I'd definitely go again--preferably when I'm not giggling through every exhibit.
