Epic studios is absolutely amazing! We almost did not have a video, but thankfully we listened to everyone that said we have to have one. I looked a ton of videos during the interview process and I was not impressed by anyone's work except for Epic Studios. I was tearing up in the videos and I didn't even know these people. As soon as I spoke to Victor I knew that he was the videographer for us. Day of: I live in LA so Victor and I never met in person until the day of the wedding. He came in my room with his crew and introduced himself. My first impression was that he was genuine. That is one thing that I look for in people especially people that I hired for my wedding. He had 3 people in his crew (including himself). I also hired a photographer who had an assistant. You would think 5 people documenting your wedding is overwhelming and feels like a reality show. To be honest, Epic Studios was amazing and I didn't even notice that they were there. That is how it should feel in order to get your natural self :) Video Teaser: I just received my video teaser and am in LOVE. It made our family and friends tear up. I am honored to say that I had my two day South Asian wedding captured by Victor Mihalchuk and his crew at Epic Studios. I was referred to Victor by the photographers I had contracted for my wedding (MDC SF Photography) for his natural approach and dramatic effects - exactly what my husband and I were looking for. Victor was easily approachable and flexible in his location to meet us and times. After one encounter and seeing his desire to make literally epic cinema we knew we were going to love his work. My husband and I hired Epic Studios for our 2014 summer wedding videography. When I first met Victor, I knew we'd have a great working relationship because he cares about his clients. I had watched a few Epic studio teasers on vimeo and I could tell Victor has a great eye. Planning with Victor was seamless -- he would make meetings with us and talk to us via email and phone. We were able to provide him with how we wanted our video to be like. Additionally, we were able to tell him our wedding timeline so that he was able to get great angles of our foxtrot first dance and our wedding flash mob. The day of --- Victor and his brother were amazing. Very friendly and helpful. Also, they are not intrusive. When they are filming, you can't tell that they are there. They aren't in your face. They are in the background capturing real moments. They are also cinematographers...they know what moments are appropriate to capture. Also, their turn around time is fast! We got our teaser the following week after our wedding. We also had our wedding movie 5 months after the ceremony. The DVD --- so we got three copies. I'm assuming the other 2 copies are for our parents. Our video was amazing! When my husband and I sat down to watch it, we were so impressed!! Like others have stated, this isn't your average wedding film. Its a mini movie. Quality is crisp -HD. The music is made to where it matches up and works as a theme to your wedding. They also don't stick straight to the timeline that occurred the day of ---which can be boring. They have moments rearranged around so that the video isn't boring and it matches up to vows and speeches. What truly surprised me about Epic was how much they knew our tastes as a couple. We love EDM...the ceremony clips of our wedding had violin and piano music, but the reception portion had an EDM mix of Coldplay and Avicii's "Sky Full of Stars." Victor and his team provided impeccable footage and compiled a movie trailer-like teaser and 15-minute highlight video for our October 2015 wedding in San Francisco. We could not have picked a better team! My now-husband and I searched diligently for the perfect videographer to capture our wedding day; we wanted beautiful, professional footage that captured all the highlights of the day's events, but wasn't too corny or dramatic. We met Victor over coffee in Sacramento and instantly felt like we were chatting with a long lost friend; he is so chill and easy to get along with, he wanted to know all the details of the day, what we wanted in our film, and basically said he could deliver all of this (without sounding like a salesman!). We immediately developed a trust in him just from that first meeting. Our wedding day involved several different locations all over San Francisco (hotel to get ready, church ceremony, another site for group photos, then the reception), and Victor was in touch with us via email, phone, and Skype the several weeks before the day to ensure he was up-to-date with the itinerary. He also independently worked with our wedding coordinator and photographers to ensure everyone was on the same page. He never once flinched at the multitude of times and places he and his crew needed to be; he was totally on board and always seemed more calm and excited about our wedding day than we were at times :) Our wedding day was a blur of beautiful and exciting events, but Victor remained cool, calm and collected, which was a great welcome relief for us. He even braved being hit with a humongous unexpected wave of water from the Bay when our cable car was taking him and our wedding party to Fort Point under the Golden Gate Bridge, but he took it all in stride with a smile. The following day, he even wrote a sweet Facebook post on his wall about what a beautiful and epic day it was for him, which made us so happy. Just 2 or so weeks later, we received our trailer video, which was about 2 minutes and felt like we were watching a professional movie trailer!!! It was so beautifully-done and the snips of the day he picked for such a short trailer were spot-on to reflect the important events of the day. We got soooo many compliments from friends and family about how this was the most amazing and professional wedding teaser they had ever seen! A couple of months later, we received our 15-minute highlight video (there are different packages with different times to choose from), which also included raw uncut footage, first dance, and speeches. Victor did such a wonderful job. Watching the video brought us right back to all the emotions and feels of the day, and even the music he chose and the audio background was so fitting; it showed he got such a good feel of who we were and what we wanted to portray. We hired Victor and his crew as videographers at our wedding on 10/25/14 at the Firehouse in Sacramento, CA. Although we haven't seen the full video of our wedding yet, we did receive Victor's teaser trailer. All I can say is WOW! Everyone I have showed it to has started to cry, not just me. I have now watched it over a dozen times and each time am still blown away by the quality of his work. Each new person that watches the trailer comments "Wow, it looks like a real movie trailer!" In short - Victor's work thus far has been beyond compare. The other thing I would like to note was Victor's willingness to "roll with the punches" on our wedding day. Our original plan was to have the ceremony and reception in the courtyard of the Firehouse. As luck would have it, however, it rained on our wedding day. From the start, Victor was amazing to work with. He was incredibly responsive, setting up a FaceTime call as soon as we contacted him. He understood the vision we had for our video and captured the moments perfectly. The teaser / trailer lives up to the studio's name and was absolutely epic! It was available quickly after the day. The final product for us was the 10 minute film and edited versions of the ceremony and reception. It arrived around the 6 month mark after the wedding but they were more than worth the wait. The quality of the footage and sound were top notch (especially for an outdoor wedding). The editing of the ceremony and reception were very well done.
