But hey, review anything and everything, right?? I visited the island with Land & Sea Tours (who I highly recommend). It was an odd day weather wise so we had really smooth water on the far side of the island, which allowed us to very easily view the sea lions, blue-footed boobies, volcanic rock formations, humpbacks, and more. We stopped at the "main" beach which has a covered area with picnic tables. There is a restroom but it's fairly nasty - I recommend the "big baño" that is the ocean instead. You can snorkel here as well as a few other locations around the island - ask your guide or boat captain. The island and waters around it are an ecological preserve so be mindful to stay on paths, not leave trash, use reef-safe sunscreen, etc!

I was so excited by the thought of leisurely devouring my big, sweet, chocolatey bunny! Yummm! And then...my mother made me share my chocolate bunny with a friend. I cried...for days. Now I get it, though. Thanks, Mom! Isla Coronado is a place so muy bonita, that many people would love to keep it a secret. They don't want to share. When you see the crystal clear turquoise water, white sandy beach, and the unique wildlife on and around this beautiful island, you'll understand why. This uninhabited volcanic island is a natural, pristine paradise. Coronado is one of five islands in the Loreto Bay Marine Park which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Yes, thankfully the area is an international preservation site. It is protected so that its exceptional natural beauty can be shared with future generations. Happiness shared really is doubled. That being said, if you're in Loreto, I highly recommend taking a tour out to Coronado Island. I'll review my tour separately but will say that it was excellent. Depending on the season, you will probably see blue and/or gray whales, dolphins, blue-footed boobies, pelicans, and sea lions, all en route to Coronado's beautiful white sandy beach. If you have a chance to snorkel here, definitely do so. The water was a bit cold in February but the icy plunge was worth it to see things like chocolate starfish, stingrays, and some of the most beautiful and unique marine life on the planet. There. I've learned to share. And, this beautiful island paradise is way better than a chocolate bunny! You're welcome.

Another 5 stars! This was the best thing I've done in years…read more Our family group of 5 rode in a small boat to Coronado Island, piloted by Nicke (don't know how it's spelled, but is pronounced Neek-ay). We filled the boat so didn't have to have strangers ride with us and were very pleased about that. Nicke stopped and we got out & snorkeled at 3 different spots around the island. The first was the most spectacular underwater: Smooth, flat-side, house-sized boulders falling away from the island into the deepest blue depths, fish, all over, different kinds. Me just hanging in crystal clear water 70 feet deep... I haven't seen so many colorful & interesting fish since I was on the Red Sea as a kid. Nicke was so cool & didn't rush us. I could see other boats coming and going but we were here for around 1.5 hours and not made to hurry. It was so beautiful underwater that no-one wanted to move on. The next stop was a sea lion colony. This was an all-male colony; no females to fight over, so we were told we could safely swim with them - and we were not expecting THAT! Never dreamed I would have an opportunity to do such a thing! But we did and it was incredible. These are massive sea lions, not little seals. They were curious & swam all around each of us, and underneath, swirling and staring with their huge soft eyes, staying juuuust out of arms reach. It felt like an impossible dream. Nicke called us "the brave family" when we got out of the water here; I guess we got a little close to the sea lions. Again, other tour boats were coming & going but we were not rushed by our guide. The last snorkel spot was not as splendidly dramatic underwater as the first, but it was every bit as beautiful and had "tropical" fish everywhere. It was beautiful in a different way; you can't believe the colors you're seeing, the different shades of green and everything is close up, right in front of you, because it is much shallower. By the time were were done here, we were getting tired. Nicke took us to a clean sand beach with classic "perfect beach" turquoise water, set up an umbrella for shade and we lay around for an hour, till we were ready to go. And we were ready, it was a big day. Here he broke out some lunch and we ate every bit of it. If you are expecting cuisine at this juncture, you'd better bring it yourself. It wasn't fancy & there wasn't a lot of it, but that wasn't the point of the trip. We weren't there for a boat-ride & lunch. We got to spend hours snorkeling a world- class environment & swimming with wild sea lions for just over $10 an hour per person, an incredible value. Nicke did say that it was the best time of the year (fall) for clear water & visibility. I live 2 hours from here, near the beach, and will be returning to do THIS again with my Go-pro. If you don't have one, borrow one. You will want to remember this beautiful experience for a long time.

The entire experience was incredible from start to finish!…read more I booked the private boat directly through the actual website, and everything seemed legitimate. The only red flag was that I had to make a payment through a link that was not under the Luxury Boat Tours name. Other than that, everything was absolutely perfect. Alberto (Pancho), the crew boss, stayed in contact with me by text from the time I booked until the moment we were picked up, which gave us a lot of confidence and made the entire process easy. We did a private sailboat excursion in St. Thomas in June, and while it was nice, this experience was on a completely different level. The boat was a large catamaran, and it was just my wife and me. The personal attention was outstanding. The crew went above and beyond to make sure every one of our needs was taken care of. Captain Alberto was not only an excellent captain, but he also prepared an incredible lunch. He diced and prepared all the food like a fine-dining sous chef. My wife does not eat seafood, so they prepared an amazing carne asada meal for her, while I enjoyed the seafood. The quality and quantity of the food were outstanding--we couldn't even finish it! From the moment the dinghy picked us up until we returned more than six hours later, everything was first-class. We spent the day snorkeling, cruising around the islands, and enjoying an experience that was truly top-notch. This was a 5-star experience, and we would 100% recommend Luxury Boat Tours to all of our friends and family. If you're considering a private boat experience, I would highly recommend them!
