Have been having a terrible experience with Hillview over a crown. I broke a tooth and needed an…read moreimplant, the type where the crown has to be screwed in. Dr. Hodge and his tech spent about two and a half hours over two appointments trying to get the crown in place. With the first one, it turned out the screw wasn't positioned right in the crown. With the second, the crown was too large as the imaging apparently wasn't done right. With the third, Dr. Hodge said the implant wasn't staying put. Why nobody noticed this during the first two and a half hours of failed attempts isn't clear, unless maybe all that fooling around loosened the implant. So now I may need a new implant, which means that by the time I get a crown, if I ever do, it'll be two years since I broke the tooth. To top it off, now Hillview is giving me a runaround about refunding the large amount I paid for the crown I don't have. Their big excuse -- apart from their standard excuse that the manager isn't in this week -- is that they're waiting for payments from my insurance company. There's no reason that should hold up refunding money that I've already paid. Payments from me and from the insurance are two separate things. Plus, the insurance company doesn't owe them any money for their failed attempts to put in a crown any more than I do. Not recommended. Both the quality of care and dealings with the office are well below par.

She insisted I remove my mask while asking me the basic health questions. I asked if she had a face shield and she grumbled yes but made no attempt to put one on. I tried diffusing her hostility with an attempt at small talk but was met w a stony silence. At one point I asked to use some hand sanitizer since I didn't see any when entering the building. Karen said "There's the sink! Soap and water!" Again I asked her to put on her face shield and she barked "I'll put it on when I start working on you!" So unprofessional esp during a pandemic! With that I tore the bib from neck and walked out. When I got home I called DrHerring and explained how rude Karen had been. He defended her saying she had been with him for 15 years.
