I am going to echo all the other reviews and say how amazing Deanna is! Communicating through text message is so convenient and she replies very promptly. She comes to your location (for me, my house) with her equipment and sets up in a place with good lighting and before you know it she is in and out! Her personality makes you feel completely at ease and she is a perfectionist about making sure your tan has no streaks and looks perfect. I even had her spray tan myself and my sister for my wedding and as I expected it looked flawless! She loved my little gremlin of a shih tzu and goofy lab mix too, so that was a plus :-) Her prices are very reasonable and the service is way better than going into an automated mystic tan, versa spa, etc. where mistakes can occur if your hand/leg placement is off by a centimeter: She is very specific in her directions when she is spraying you and you never feel like, "ok, what direction should this foot be facing?!?!" My only regret is that I can't have her come spray me weekly....well, it is a new year and a time for new resolutions so maybe I can :-)!! read more

I called Deanna at the last minute on a Sunday and she said I could come right over.I am a new customer so that was really nice of her. She usually doesn't work on a Sunday so I went to her home. Deanna does house calls. I had an airbrush from another place and it came out way too dark. Deanna uses a medium spray and it comes out right away. It looks like you have a sunburn in the beginning. My tan will come up in 4 hours but I love the way it looks already. I will definitely use her again. Deanna is not just great for out-of-towners! I've been living in New Orleans for 3 years, and this is by far the easiest way to get spray-tanned in Nola. Deanna is very pleasant to work with, she immediately returns phone calls and follows up with text messages. This week, I felt terrible because I had to cancel twice at the last minute, but she went out of her way to meet with me at a time that worked for both of us. The tan is more even than going to a booth because she sprays you carefully by hand. The best part is she comes to your house...so easy! Like other reviewers, I am usually pretty modest, but she made me feel comfortable topless and in just a thong. Thanks Deanna! I was in a wedding on Sunday in DC, and there was no time to get it done closer to the wedding, so I did the Thursday before. The best color was obviously Thursday, Friday and Saturday - but on Sunday I most certainly did still have color. I used oil free moisturizer. I had two airbrush tans previously, and this one faded away the most naturally. My previous two I had some groupons, so they were cheaper, but it was worth it for the photos! I have always written good reviews only as I feel like everyone has a bad day sometimes (even businesses). I also do not want to be the reason that a business possibly loses money, especially in today's economy. However, I had such a bad experience with Deanna, her service and her honesty that I felt compelled to do so so that other yelpers hopefully will not have the same experience. I was going to be in New Orleans for several weeks for business/pleasure, and wanted to use her service. I consulted yelp as I always do and found Deanna. She had great reviews so I called her up and set up an appointment. She was very friendly and personable on the phone. We then started to communicate via text message which was great because it was convenient, but also provided a written record of our communications which will become important later in this review. Deanna arrived on time at my hotel room and was very friendly and chatty. She gushed about how she had sprayed Jim Harbaugh's wife before the Super Bowl and had to go through multiple layers of security to get to her. I asked to be sprayed moderately dark, which she said she did, and went on her way. It was a quick and easy experience. I purposely did not shower afterwards to allow the tan to get darker. However, after 7 hours, there was still no color so I texted Deanna who said she would come back the next day to re-spray if it still had not worked. After 24 hours the promised tan had still not appeared (and at that point I had to shower) so I politely asked Deanna to come back as she had promised to both confirm that her spray had not worked and to re-spray. At that point, I had no interest in a refund, I simply wanted the tan. Deanna was apologetic but now told me that she was "too busy" to come back to my hotel room at all over the next few days, despite her promise a day earlier to do so. I then politely told her I was disappointed that I had paid for a service that did not work and that she was now not going to honor her promise to fix the situation. In response, she apologized again and offered to mail me a refund, which I accepted. It is important to note that I still have ALL of these communications in writing as they were via text message such that their existence and accuracy cannot be questioned. It has now been 2 months and Deanna has still failed to mail me my refund as she promised to do. I have texted her on several occasions and she simply ignores me. It's obvious at this point that Deanna had no intention of refunding my money when she promised to do so (similar to her broken promise to re-spray) but simply wanted to "get rid" of me and hope I would disappear since I do not live in New Orleans. At this point, it's not about the money but the principle. Deanna's service did not work, she lied to me about coming back to my room to fix it, she lied to me about sending me a refund, and she has ignored any attempt to communicate now that I am no longer in New Orleans. Of course, if I was Jim Harbaugh's wife, she may not have acted in this way or repeatedly lied. Sorry for the long review but I wanted to be as detailed as possible so that people know for sure that this is a real and honest review. And, again, ALL of our communications were in writing so they cannot be disputed. Buyer beware as you have been warned. If there is any problem, Deanna will simply make promises that she does not intend to keep. Edit in response to Deanna comment below: Thank you, Deanna, for responding to my review. First, I greatly disagree with your characterization of events but they are not really relevant to my review of your business so I will just leave it at that for the sake of brevity. What is important about your comment is not so much what you say, but what you do NOT say: 1. You do not deny that you promised in writing to return to fix the situation (which you did not do). You could have come back any day if the next day was busy. Also, had you come back like you promised, you would have seen FIRSTHAND that your solution did not work at all (contrary to your claim that you have never had a problem with it). 2. You do not deny that you promised in writing to mail me a refund (which you likewise did not do). You claim to be "really sorry" about this, but if you really were, you would have mailed me a refund like you promised. This is the dishonesty I was referring to. Last, if you are insinuating that I am somehow lying about this in order to get a refund, you are quite mistaken. First, had you come back like you promised, you would have seen I was telling the truth. Second, if this was all my "plan," why would I tell you about it beforehand? You know full well we had a long conversation about yelp reviews throughout our meeting because you asked me how I found you. Reading the previous two reviews, it seems Deanna should market herself to the out-of-town wedding crowd! I was recently wed in NOLA and as a bigger bride, I was terrified to Moby Dick it down the aisle (everyone knows that extra flesh is more attractive with a bronze). However, I'm against risking cancer and realized that a quick spray tan would be the best option to prevent the white whale effect at my wedding. After quickly Yelping "spray tan" and reading various reviews, I emailed Deanna via her website and followed up with a desperate phone call the day before my wedding. Not only did she call me back immediately, she happened to be near by the JW Marriott where I was staying and agreed to come by within the hour. The pop-up tent was perfect for use in my hotel room. Deanna arrived and set up in minutes - soon it was time for me to drop trou and prepare for spray action. I was nervous about exposing myself in all my glory but she was the consummate professional, while still being a "girlfriend". I had two friends going under the nozzle with me, both in various moods of modesty. One bared it all and the other exposed legs, arms and face. Deanna was wonderful to work with and I wish she lived in San Diego so I could get the spray every three weeks. Results: We immediately experienced a lovely bronze due to the color added to the tanning agent. We were advised to let ourselves dry completely and not wear anything tight for the next several hours. We heeded this advice to our abilities. The tan developed over the next few hours and looked beautiful. I was especially happy with my results. However, I had my wedding rehearsal that night and due to nerves and Louisiana humidity, I was sweating profusely and felt self-conscious about my "tan" smell. Vanity won out, though, and I didn't shower until the next morning per Deanna's advice. I noticed a few streaks on the inside of my arm which were because of my own errors, but overall I was extremely happy with the results. Amazing how something so simple as a little color can impart a sense of confidence, but with my expert hairstyling, gorgeous dress, spray tan and big, big smile, I felt as beautiful and confident as any bride should be. I was visiting New Orleans for a wedding that i was in and since i was familiar with Envy Boston i inquired about a tanning associate in New Orleans. Kelly put me in touch with Deanna who was very sweet. She came to give the bride and her mom a trial and came back to do another session for anyone who wanted it. Unfortunately 6 people backed out at the last minute and Deanna was left to spray only two of us, which we felt horrible about - but she was really understanding about it. Cost was $25 for a full body spray and she definitely made it comfortable. i am used to being spray tanned so i was fine, but the other girl was a first timer and seemed at ease with Deanna.
