However, I was disappointed with the way the day went. With 8 hours of access we planned for an hour of clean up at the end with all guests out. The owner had my guests cleaning up the venue starting at 7:30 even though we didn't need to be out until 10:30. I understand asking guests to clean plates but my photos from the end of the night didn't have any of the decor because it was put away before my wedding was over. Truthfully it made me feel rushed to end my wedding which was very disappointing. The bartending service we hired also complained about being rushed and having their services disrupted by the owner. Again, a gorgeous venue but maybe not the place if you want a traditional wedding reception.

The staircase and venue itself were amazing! The bathroom was also very beautiful and spacious, with plenty of seating, but I thought the stalls were very small. I was volunteering for the event and brought a set of clothes to change into. Only the big stall was the best place to change clothes, as the regular stalls were very small in my opinion. The toilet bowl was so close to the door that there wasn't much room to walk in the stall. Boxed lunches from the venue were provided for the event, and it wasn't anything spectacular, unfortunately. I got the Grecian box, which came with a Grecian wrap, kettle chips, and a cookie. I thought it sounded good at first, and I was super excited to try it. I spoke too soon! The best thing in the boxed lunch was honestly the chips and cookie. Everyone helping and attending the event didn't know weddings were going on at the same time, before, or after the event. I currently live on the southeast side of Chicago, about 10 to 15 minutes away from Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, IN. I felt like the venue was a very long commute. I also felt like there wasn't a lot of parking, as it's in the middle/in between an Italian restaurant and a hotel. The staff I interacted with were friendly. Overall, I have mixed emotions about my experience and the venue. The venue is beautiful, and the staff is friendly, but the food wasn't that great, and the bathroom could've been structured or built better.

I knocked off a star because the bathrooms are a little outdated. Toilets are too low, especially for the older people, and a few of the stalls were dirty. Beautiful venue in the Northwest burbs…read more The staff and servers here are wonderful to work with. Bar tenders and servers are helpful, fast and friendly. When the room is set up for an event, especially in the evening, it is beautiful. The only challenge here is the parking. The small lot doesn't hold enough cars and parking along the dark side streets can be challenging and unsafe to walk, due to uneven sidewalk surfaces. I cannot imagine making this walk when it is icy or slippery out. Valet parking here can be an issue too with long lines to wait for service. I wish there was a better solution to parking. The food here is pretty tasty, as banquet places go. Prices are reasonable too.

The food was great, I believe we had the chicken Francese with potato and broccoli, a to-share big plate of beef brisket and another to-share plate of pasta. There was so much food, I couldn't even finish my personal plate. There was also bread at the beginning plus a plate of salad with a choice of Italian or ranch dressing. There was also a scoop of vanilla ice cream with a swirl of chocolate syrup on top for dessert. I would've given it five stars for all these. However, I chose 3 stars because of their sound system. Not only did the mic went on and off, the sound when it was on was screeching and was truly painful to the ears. If that can be fixed, then 2 thumbs up!
