Man, can't believe in the 39 years since I bought two brand new vehicles from Herbee Dodge around…read morethe same time that things haven't improved! Ordered a 1982 custom Dodge 2500 shorty Van and it was delayed and delayed for over a month from when it was shipped. They kept telling me it was lost in shipment and they couldn't find it. Figured out a few years later when the paint and Bondo showed it had been damaged, that they lied to me and didn't care. I also ordered my mother a brand new 1982 Dodge Diplomat and when we came to take possession and drive it home I told her I'd follow her. We didn't get 500 feet and I was honking and flashing my headlights at her to pull over. I told her to follow me as we were heading right back. She got nervous so I lied and told her I forgot something to calm her down. We got back there and I told them they had better figure out and fix whatever was wrong with mom's car ASAP because it rides down the road like a crab, sideways! The had it for a week and couldn't find anything wrong with it and said that their Detroit men were flying in to check it out. After a few days they figured out what the problem was... on the production line, with installers on either side of the automobiles, the left and right side installers put on two different sets of shocks so it pulled the car sideways from the frame! They got the right shocks in and fixed it but never dealt with Herbee's or Dodge again.

I go on edmunds.com and put out an inquiry for new Jeep Grand Cherokees to the three dealers closest to me (Herbee, Smithhaven, Browns). Smithhaven and Browns get back to me within an hour with emails and calls. I agree to test drive that weekend at Smithhaven because Teresa the Internet Sales Manager there was very professional and helpful. About 2 days later I get an email from David A. (the Herbee Internet Sales Manager). He asks how he can help. I give him my specs on what I want (basically told him the exact car that I wanted) and asked him for the price quote. He throws out a random figure with no mention of what it comes with or what model (there's a considerable difference between Laredo, Limited, Overland not to mention the accessory packages). I ask him to clarify and his response was "with navi". Thaaaaaaaanks buddy. So he then pressures me to test drive but when I tell him I'm already visiting somewhere else this weekend he says that we are technically the closest dealer and he is my "neighborhood Jeep dealer". Great, so I'm going to cancel on someone who has been far more professional, courteous, proactive and informative to save 3 minutes from my drive. Ehhhh. I go to Smithhaven and the guys there are great (cough, recomend them, cough). We work out a good price (I did my homework) and agree to come back the next week and sign the papers. Middle of the week David calls back and asks if I test drove, etc. I tell him I agreed to buy with another dealer and he asks at what price. I tell him the deal and he says he'll call back. A minute later, he gives me a buzz and proudly proclaims "you are overpaying!". He says he can save me nearly a grand. Cool, I think. He says he can save me 7 bucks a month. So 7 bucks over a 39 month lease... You don't have to be a rocket scientist to realize that's less than 300 bucks and that he's just trying to undercut the other dealer. So I now can waste an entire day from work, to go in, re-do paper work, to save 270 bucks over 3 years. Yeah, ok, awesome deal Herbee! So I politely tell him his math is wrong and that the 270 isn't worth my time and to call if he has something worth listening to to give me a ring. Before I can even finish the guy says "Okay, buddy" and hangs up. Do yourself a favor and shop around (lots of Jeeps on Long Island) but when you do, please do not give these clowns at Herbee any of your time.

I love that it is family owned and that they really care about satisfying their customers. Not only have I rented from their Long Island location but I have had fantastic experiences with the Miami location as well. Most recently I rented a Mercedes S580 to drive while celebrating my birthday. The car was available upon my arrival, it was clean, and since I had previously rented with BluStreet it was a breeze to check the vehicle out and get on with my day. Any questions I have during my rental are always addressed by staff in a timely fashion. I have also used BluStreet to get to and from the airport when I do not have an alternative form of transportation. I have found their rates to be very competitive and reasonable. Occasionally I have noticed car wash and detail specials on their Instagram stories and I usually take advantage of those great deals. The team does a great job & is a pleasure to deal with. If you were looking for a vehicle for a special event like a sweet 16 or a wedding, I would absolutely look no further. If you were looking for a chance to drive a car of your dreams while supporting a small business, this is the opportunity for you! I have used for nights out in the city, or while staying in the Hamptons. There are convenient options for any occasion. The business has ample parking available & if you have to leave a vehicle there, I believe it can be arranged.
