The Webster location had a full-size SUV available, but the manager refused to rent it to me unless I paid an upgrade fee, even though they had no midsize SUV to offer. Rather than looking for a solution or trying to help, the manager's only answer was to charge me more money. When Enterprise can't provide the class of vehicle that was reserved or covered by an insurance claim, the customer shouldn't be penalized. I expected the manager to focus on customer service and finding a reasonable solution--not on charging me extra because Enterprise didn't have the appropriate vehicle available. This was a very disappointing experience.

We rented a car to take out to Big Bend for the week. It was fine, as far as a working car goes. It…read moregot us from point A to point B without any issues. (2019 Toyota Corolla, your review would have that as the only pro. Yikes.) Upon returning the car, they inspected it. They said there would be a minimum $35 cleaning fee because of how dirty it was. Now, we said upfront we'd be taking it to West Texas... to the DESERT. We were never told about any potential cleaning fee. We're not dirty or messy people by any means, but naturally there was some dirt that accumulated in the car. Having had a relative that worked for Enterprise for years, we thought nothing of it since people left full damn garbage bags in their cars for him to clean out and it was a normal occurrence... because the cars are cleaned in detail after each use. We took the car to a nearby vac station to avoid paying the fee, and they took the car back. If you're THAT strict about how a car looks upon return, you absolutely should warn your customers ahead of time. If we knew we had to vacuum, it wouldn't have been an issue to do so at all. But now I'm worried, Budget. You got my mind going. Charging a fee for some sand on the floor? Expecting customers to vacuum? So... do you NOT vacuum or clean if the car looks fine? Do you not realize how many insanely dirty yet invisible things lie on surfaces? People get sick. They vomit, defecate. People have airborne, contagious diseases. People FORNICATE. Oh yeah. Real easy to wipe all that nasty crap up, but it needs to be sanitized! Performing a full cleaning is not the customer's job. SUV looks as if it had not been washed in weeks. Broken glass in the carpet. Upon returning, I requested a receipt; I was advised by Mark that I would receive one via email. Nope, didn't happen. I check my credit card statement only to find out that there was an additional $49.50 for cleaning the vehicle?!?! Was told vehicle was "trashed"! Good thing I had photos. They held zero weight. This is a Budget/Avis franchise located in a nondescript shopping center on Bay Area Blvd. I needed…read morea rental because my car was being serviced at a nearby Chevy dealer and being a one car family my wife really needed a way to run errands and get around town. First of all, don't be fooled by the cars listed on their website. It's probably a list of cars that's they rent throughout their system (United States) and not what's actually available at this or any other location. Secondly, as a walk-in (arrived early in the morning before the store opened) the employee/manager told me he had only one car available which ran $100/day. Totally not the price I was expecting from what I had looked at their website but couldn't make a reservation because I had no idea how long my car would be kept for repairs at the dealer, but being desperate (no car means no ride) I relunctantly agreed and signed the papers. Turns out I got a lousy riding Chrysler Pacifica(61,000 miles +), inside clean but outside dirty, listed as $65/day on their website. The extra charges were insurance fees the employee/owner just happened to add to my charges without fully disclosing the fees. Of course I had my own insurance which he never asked about. WARNING!!! Always READ your receipt before you sign anything. Don't ever be desperate before you rent a car! There are other honest places where you can rent from. Use Uber if you have to. And It's a lot safer if you make an online reservation instead of being a walk-in! Just be warned, my little 3 day rental ended-up costing me $300 instead of what I really could afford. And my last word of advice is Leave if you don't know or feel this locations is being honest with you , Leave, just say No and keep your hard earned money in your pocket and not in the hands of those who treats you like a fool!

I have neglected to write a review for this location for several years (and several transactions)…read more Better late than never. First, the folks here have always made me feel important -- since the first time I rented a car from this location in 2016. Unlike other rental companies and locations, the people at this location solve any issues before you walk in the door. Most recently, I rented a mid-sized sedan (Camry) to take a long drive to far west Texas. I wanted something comfortable and easy on gas. I showed up on the day that I'd reserved the car, and they told me that the car I wanted was not (yet) in. It was beyond their control, and I totally get that. Instead -- for the same price -- they offered a luxury upgrade that actually was more comfortable and better on gas mileage. When I returned the car, the lone employee was on the phone with an elderly woman who was confused. She believed that her insurance company said that Enterprise would pick up her totaled car and bring her a rental. What I overheard from the dude at Enterprise was nothing short of exceptional customer service. Obviously, they can't go pick up a totaled car, unless it is their own totaled car -- at which point they would send a wrecker. Still, he politely talked her off the ledge and offered to help her in any other way possible. When it was all said and done, she thanked him and let him know that she would call her insurance company for clarity. This guy could've told her to take a hike, but he had emotional intelligence that is missing these days. This woman was short, if not curt, but he stayed the polite course. Customer service like this is why I will continue to rent from Enterprise and use this location as my home base.

We had gone to Hertz first, and they were so unhelpful, genuinely didn't care, and priced us way higher for a much lower class vehicle. They kind of act like oh well, we can't really help you. Where is national does whatever they can to make your life easier. I will never rent anywhere again other than national! So pleased.
