I typically rent from the competition across the street, but wanted a change. I was traveling for work so I booked a car for a Sunday pick up. When I arrived, 15 minutes before my scheduled pick up, I was met by a waiting room of 5 customers and no workers. I stood in line behind one gal until we realized that those sitting down hadn't been helped either. I settled in for the wait. It was 15 minutes before closing and only one employee working. Once he came out from vacuuming a car he moved quickly. As stressful as that situation could have been, he treated each one of us with professional and kind service. I was impressed at how quickly he moved while not making you feel rushed. My car did not disappoint! The reason I crossed the street from the competition was I was tired of renting basic cars with cloth seats, no blue tooth and no automatic seats. When I rent a car to travel in I want something nicer than my own car, which isn't hard. The car I received had EVERYTHING and more and I was very pleased. The price, the car and customer service was great! I take one star off for having only one employee working on a busy pick up day. I'll be back for sure! read more

This is a Budget/Avis franchise located in a nondescript shopping center on Bay Area Blvd. I needed a rental because my car was being serviced at a nearby Chevy dealer and being a one car family my wife really needed a way to run errands and get around town. First of all, don't be fooled by the cars listed on their website. It's probably a list of cars that's they rent throughout their system (United States) and not what's actually available at this or any other location. Secondly, as a walk-in (arrived early in the morning before the store opened) the employee/manager told me he had only one car available which ran $100/day. Totally not the price I was expecting from what I had looked at their website but couldn't make a reservation because I had no idea how long my car would be kept for repairs at the dealer, but being desperate (no car means no ride) I relunctantly agreed and signed the papers. Turns out I got a lousy riding Chrysler Pacifica(61,000 miles +), inside clean but outside dirty, listed as $65/day on their website. The extra charges were insurance fees the employee/owner just happened to add to my charges without fully disclosing the fees. Of course I had my own insurance which he never asked about. WARNING!!! Always READ your receipt before you sign anything. Don't ever be desperate before you rent a car! There are other honest places where you can rent from. Use Uber if you have to. And It's a lot safer if you make an online reservation instead of being a walk-in! Just be warned, my little 3 day rental ended-up costing me $300 instead of what I really could afford. And my last word of advice is Leave if you don't know or feel this locations is being honest with you , Leave, just say No and keep your hard earned money in your pocket and not in the hands of those who treats you like a fool! read more

Nice person and outstanding service . They are always open to help you . Great location.

Not a great experience here. I would say you're taking a risk of them not having what you reserved when you come here. When I arrived, they didn't have the SUV I had reserved. Instead, the largest vehicle they could give me a was a Ford Fusion, which unfortunately, was not going to work for me since I was moving a lot of stuff. Not only that, they charged me the same price that I would've paid for the SUV and don't give me anything else. I kept calling back and even came back a few times to check and see if they had any SUVs in. They said they would call me if they did but they never did. Finally one came in by the next day but I never would have known if I didn't keep checking. They were able to switch for me but I never got anything in the form of recompensation for basically paying the price of an SUV for a car that wasn't one. Since this place isn't at the airport, they are limited in the number of cars that they have, so you're kind of taking a risk by renting from here. I was also very disappointed at the customer service based on my experience. read more

Renting a car usually is a painful experience like those years locked away in Azkaban. However this was a pretty flawless experience from start to finish. I booked it online, no issue. Drove and picked it up. Guy behind the counter knew who I was, what I wanted, and didn't waste time. Straight up business was appreciated. The car was ready to go, it was clean, and I was off. If you are traveling to Houston consider straying from the "do it at the airport" way and ask for a pick up from this place, come out here (not that far from Hobby Airport, scout's honor!) and be treated a lot better than a ticketed item number piece of meat at the airport line. I would definitely come back here for business. read more

Warning... To rent a car with any Avis, they run a credit check at the time you pick-up. They do not say a word till you arrive to pick up . At this location the Budget also run the credit check. They were more than happy to take my money out of my account to hold the car rental for two weeks, but then my money wasn't any good when they found I had, had some bad luck a few months prior. THE CAR WAS PAID FOR! THEY HAD MY MONEY, YET I WAS A PERSON THAT WAS NOT OK TO DRIVE THEIR CAR... Now I know why I stick with "Enterprise" read more

When it comes to service and convenience, this location is terrific. I'm a regular customer of Avis all over the world, and when you're renting a car, you do need to understand how the rental process works. That's something not everyone who writes reviews on Yelp knows. read more

I have been renting from Avis for several (March 2015) months due to job travel. In December I asked about a personal rental using my reward points. I was told that I had none because I didn't opt in to a new program they started in July. They said they set me an email on it which I never received. When I asked about reward points before this change they said they had expired September 30, 2015. I feel like I have been scammed by Avis! Fortunately there are many other options when renting a car. I strongly suggest using them and forget about Avis. They should change their Moto to "We try harder to screw you!" read more

I wanted to rent a car for the weekend. I found an amazing deal through AVIS, which I've never rented with before, and took a risk. The rental was in 'ok' condition when I picked it up. There was residual bug splats on the window but I over looked it as I figured, for the rate, I could justify it. The process was smooth and the manager, Mark, was very helpful and friendly. Upon returning the car after hours I called first thing in the morning to make sure everything was cool. Turned out that some stains or tree sap weren't coming out with the 'normal' car wash and that they might have to have it taken to have it detailed. Some sap is more challenging than others and a company that has thousands of cars would surely be familiar and have access to methods to detail a car to have it ready for the next customer. After all, that is why they pay someone by the hour to detail the car and have it ready for the next reservation. It wasn't like I returned it with bug guts hardened on the windshield (did they charge that poor sap too?), oh yeah, another oversight by me as the rate was amazing. Mark said it would be a $35 detailing fee. First I thought, hmmm, not life threatening, then I thought, well Avis is going to risk a return customer, plus everyone I talk to about my Avis experience over a $35 fee? I was disappointed that a good relationship was snuffed over stains that were taken care of by an already discounted 'hand shake' relationship with a local car wash....Avis, I had hopes but the bait and switch mentality won't work for me...
