Smooth transaction easy to rent easy to return overall great experience. The car was clean well maintained I would rent for them again.

Mixed experience with Enterprise. We paid about $900 extra for a full-size SUV, but were told at pickup that none were available and initially offered a different SUV with only a 10-15% discount. After a lengthy discussion, a manager finally found us a Wagoneer. The pickup process felt frustrating and not very transparent. On the positive side, the airport shuttle drivers were friendly, and the return staff were very helpful. The service from those employees was excellent, but the reservation and pickup experience fell short of expectations. read more

We caught the shuttle right away and were first in line. We were out of the office in 5 minutes. We had an issue with our car but it ended up being my husband's fault as he had not closed the door properly. The jeep worked great and the check back in was super quick. read more

Enterprise Rent-A-Car - Our ride. - Car Rental Near Me - Lihue, Hawaii

We rented an intermediate SUV on Costco Travel. Upon arrival to LIH we followed the signs to rental car shuttle near baggage claim. We waited briefly for the shuttle. Taken offsite nearby where we got off and entered the rental car office. There were two agents. We waited less than 5 minutes in line. Our reservation was confirmed. No hard push to buy insurance or gas refuel. No drama. We had a choice of SUVs to select from. Did a walk around of the vehicle. Drove to the exit gate. The agent scanned the QR code. Provided a map of the island and driving tips. Even gave us a restaurant suggestion. Upon rental car return a week later, the agent did a walk around; checked the gas gauge; issued an email receipt. I wished all car rentals were as smooth as this one was. read more

The price of renting a car seems less expensive here on the island, when compared to Oahu. The selection is not necessaily the best, but the vehicles are relatively nice and gets me between points A and B. I was surprized the SUVs are a very popular choice, and seems to be the most prevalent among the selection. I do believe the cost is even cheaper than a sedan in some cases... read more

This is by far the best experience I have ever had at a car rental business . I had a problem with the cars overhead lighting . Drove it back to Enterprise the next day . Nala greeted me in the friendliest way and explained it was a simple fix by adjusting the light control. Tobias the manager was tremendously sympathetic and understanding and made sure I was well taken care of. They could not have been more friendly and accomodating . I will always use this Enterprise as they have the best staff. read more

I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect when the line to pick up our rental was 10 deep, but surprisingly, the line moved fast, and we were provided with excellent and friendly service. Once we got the the rental car, the car was clean, had a full tank of gas, and we were off for a long weekend of adventuring. I would be remiss to say that even the shuttles to and from the lot from the airport and the return process were great too. We will definitely rent from this Enterprise location again. read more

Did everything online in advance so when we landed got the shuttle (bit of a line) but got to the rental counter and didn't have to stand in line as we had already checked in and waived the insurance. Was given the choice of anything on left to choose from. We had booked a compact but ended up with a Jeep! Everything was smooth for our return too. One piece of advice - the car fob was really hard to use. The button you push was very hard and my husband had to do it! read more

Great customer service. I needed to rent a car for a week for my wife since her car was gonna be in the shop for a week. Total cost was $180 for one week which was within our budget and they are local. Will use again in the future. Thanks again. read more

The staff was SO friendly and the process was quick and painless! I checked in online the day before my reservation. When we landed in Kauai, we took a shuttle to enterprise, which was not busy at all, no line. I showed the representative my drivers license and he told me to pick any car, the keys were inside, and we were on our way! When dropping off the car, we were running late so I had to extend the drop off time online but even that was very simple and painless. When we returned the car, the staff was so friendly and sweet. They did a walk around and checked the gas, she showed me the final receipt and the total was the same as my estimate so I was happy about that. We caught the shuttle back to the airport and even the shuttle drivers were very sweet and welcoming. We had a great experience and will use enterprise again on our next trip! read more

Wow. Racist discrimination at its finest. "We don't rent to you people" , verbatim what the supposed manager said to my face. I had a reservation, the car was paid for in advance. I have rented from the Enterprise lihue location on several occasions without issues. The "manager" then said to me, You made a mistake, this the wrong location. I showed the reservation and payment, she continued to lie to my face and say I made a mistake. I showed her the address and previous receipt. Not only was the manager a racist liar, They (An employee of Enterprise Rental car) Stole My Banking Information and immediately began charging shit using my banking information!! I know cuz my bank called me 10 minutes after I was refused service based upon my ethnicity. Not only was I racially discriminated against, lied to, and treated like shit, they have the audacity to Skim My Card and use it!!! Yes, the bank is taking action. Yes the police report has been filed . Will it amount to anything? Probably not. BEWARE TRAVELERS, ENTERPRISE RENTAL CAR AT LIHUE AIRPORT IS SKIMMING CREDIT CARDS! I rented from Enterprise at Lihue Airport during a stressful time when a last-minute minivan recall threatened to derail our family trip. From the moment we arrived, the team stepped in with a ready solution, got us into a great vehicle quickly, and treated us with genuine kindness. Their professionalism turned a potential vacation nightmare into a smooth, positive experience. Mahalo to the whole Lihue team for saving our trip! read more

I have been an Enterprise customer for years, and have always gotten very well maintained, and clean rental vehicles, and the customer service is always been very good. The shuttle bus driver was very funny, nice informative, and got me excited to start my 2 week vacation on Kaua'i. The minute I walk into the building, step up to the rental counter I am greeted by a gum chewing lady with an absolute scowl on her face. No greeting at all!! Just started grilling me about we're are you staying how long will you be here. I have rented a lot of cars and never been treated that way. This person needs a job detailing cars outside in the 90 degree heat, not as a customer service representative, do better!!! Not a great way to start out your vacation. We then went to select our vehicle from the row of cars in our rental class, we checked out five before we found one that wasn't completely trashed/dirty/nasty. This car we selected out of 5 was still a piece of trash, we had to drive with the windows down, just to keep the windshield from fogging up, the headlights were so dim you can barely see the road in the dark, the air conditioner made a horrible clicking noise the whole time we had the vehicle. Hate to have to write this horrible review and bash a company that I have been a loyal customer of for the past 10 years, but this is a joke. Thanks... read more

We recently returned from Kauai for a week and decided to rent from Enterprise. Avis is usually my first choice and I decide to switch it up. Overall friendly service, but my gosh DO NOT be late with your rental. Their lead customer rep is aggressive. Not only did I receive an email, I got blast with 4 calls in less then 12 hours. It was an overkill. And when I responded to the aggressive intact, i didn't get a response. If you rent from them, make sure to be on time (because you work for Enterprise), and Pump your gas. It was abrasive to blast someone's cell phone 4 times. Truly is, and unsure why the lead customer rep think it was okay to do so. read more

I did not choose Enterprise, it was provided through the insurance of the person who rear-ended my car. We had the rental for four days while our car was being repaired. Everything went wrong with this because of communication issues between Enterprise office in Lihue and their office at the airport. No invoice, no receipts were given when we returned the vehicle. We found we were charged in error and did not get our deposit back when we received our bank statement. It took a few phone calls to the customer service, and a nasty review to get the corporate office attention. In the end , David from the Lihue office fixed everything and apologized for this mess which he did not cause. It all ended well, and credit must be given where deserved read more

I am extremely dissatisfied by by Roadside Service and not the Lihue Enterprise Location. Summary: 1 Urgently Roadside Service (Enterprise Rent a Car) provided incorrect information that resulted in a 6 hour delay in obtaining a replacement vehicle. A reasonable time should have been 3 hours. 2 The 2 major deficits were informing me that a Taxi was called to pick us up and Incorect Address given to Lyft. Easy experience for me! Rental car rates post-COVID have increased dramatically but luckily I was able to secure an excellent rate through an employee benefits program. I can't speak to the value/cost in comparison to other car rental rates. Budget Car Rental works out of the same office so when you go to the car rental area at the airport, you can board the Budget shuttle to get to the rental office (it's very close). Team members were friendly and helpful. Very easy checkout and return. There were a few people in front of me at check-in and the line moved very quickly. At checkout, you just pull up into a line of cars and the agent walks around for a quick inspection, records mileage/gas, scans something and you're done. Upon return, since it's so close to the terminal, I dropped off the family with the luggage at the airport terminal curb and then made the short drive to the car rental to do the return. I do feel like the car interior wasn't as new as I was expecting for a newer rental car. We had a minivan with less than 20,000 miles on it. Not deducting any stars for that since I imagine it's difficult to keep a HI car rental looking crisp and new with the tropical weather and adventuring in nature/beaches. It wasn't dirty, just not as in what I would consider newer condition. Oh and for those who are renting minivans from this location: I believe they list Chrysler Pacifica or similar. By the time we got to the lot there were only Dodge Caravans available. So, you'll most likely getting a Pacifica or a Caravan. read more

Excellent service! Cheerful and helpful staff. Highly recommend this service location.

Layne & the Enterprise team at this branch have exceptional customer service. From the initial renting with the hi-tech kiosks to the return, I am completely satisfied with my experience. We rented a Grand Jeep Cherokee that fit my families needs perfectly. Layne reached out about a concern with my rental and was very genuine and truly helpful! Vacations can be hectic, but the team here really is exceptional! I truly appreciate the aloha customer service! Highly recommended! read more

This location is conveniently located about five minutes from the airport and about five minutes from most gas stations, including Costco and Texaco. In addition, they offer a shuttle service to and from the airport, with great, friendly staff. Check in was easy at the kiosk. From there, we were escorted to our reserved vehicle. The associate who helped us was no pressure and super helpful when it came to questions about the island. The return was also super easy, and took all of five minutes. Staff gave us no issue at all. Will rent from here again. read more

We recently returned from Kauai for a week, when we rented from Enterprise via Expedia. Enterprise is usually my first choice on the mainland, but this was my first time with them in Hawaii. Once I got off the plane I immediately headed out to the car rental shuttle while my wife went to wait for our luggage. There were only 3 customers on the shuttle bus. Upon arrival to the car rental office, there were a few agents in the office, and two other customers who had already been helped. This office location handled 3 major rental company brands, with Enterprise being the smallest of the 3, and obviously more recently added. I immediately walked up to the first agent, with no waiting. The young lady who helped me was very nice, professional and efficient. I rejected their insurance as always, when I told her I have coverage via my CC, and she said "no problem". After signing all of the paperwork, she said to go to the front line of vehicles and choose any car from that line. I immediately noticed that they did not have the "Standard" size Ford Edge we had reserved (and that price paid), but only 4 of the larger sized SUV's and the rest were Minivans in that line. I then asked an attendant outside to confirm that I could take any car in that line, as they don't have what I reserved. She looked at my paperwork and said that all of the smaller vehicles are sold out, so I received a free upgrade to any vehicle in that front line. I selected the nicest and cleanest of them, a new-ish Ford Explorer Limited 4x4 fully loaded SUV, nearly perfect condition, and I thought I just won the car rental lottery for the week! The initial price to rent this "top of the line" Explorer (an $80k car) would have rented for 2 to 3 times what I paid for a standard car. I walked around to inspect it, and it did not any damage to the pearl white paint, and it was clean and ready to go! On most previous trips to the Islands, the cars we have rented from the other companies are typically mid-size SUVs, and they usually come wet or dirty as they only wash but do not dry their cars. I never really thought about it during past trips, but Enterprise seems to care more about their customer service and their fleet as compared to other major companies. I will likely chose Enterprise first for my future car rental needs when given the choice. Thanks Enterprise! read more

This was definitely a meh experience. Customer service at the desk was friendly and efficient, but the person in the lot who checked me in was indifferent and less than friendly. The car they gave me was dirty (inside and out). Unimpressed. read more

Booked a compact and got upgraded to a convertible! SCORE! The lady at the counter was friendly and helpful. Booked with Enterprise for the first time expecting a higher level of service than some other budget options. They will tell you the car you reserved is not available just to see if you'll splurge on "the best possible price" on their higher end vehicles. When you decline, your car will magically appear after a 15 minute wait. Instead of preparing other cars that weren't reserved, try preparing the cars that were reserved? read more

Enterprise is between 3 and 4 stars. LIked: 1) People were very friendly and they are quite efficient. 2) Didn't vibe that they were sneaky, or no upsale either which is refreshing. 3) Car was fine, handled well, clean but seemed to use a lot of gasoline. Didn't like: 1) Rental car prices are very high. Not just Enterprise but value wise, it is so much higher than pre-Covid. 2) I never got my original receipt upon rental (I should have asked for hard copy) and I had to call on phone twice to get it emailed (it never did initially). 3) We rented a premium car but our ONLY choice was a small SUV. I didn't really want an SUV but the choice was rather slim.. 4) We got the car at 7/8 but returned it full, wasn't sure if they indicated that as it wasn't on the receipt we were emailed so didn't take a chance. They didn't offer any credit for the extra gas to us, but this is quite a minor point and it doesn't affect my review at all. read more

Average would be giving them credit. Needed to rent a car for a day since my party left a day before I did. Rather than rent a room for the night, why not rent a car, drive around, do my thing, snooze in the backseat at night and catch the sunrise in the morning, then go catch the plane. Excellent idea until you wake up at 3am to find cockroaches roaming all over the car. What a bummer. If you plan to travel in your car at night, think twice about renting your car from enterprise. I returned my car three hours early and the only thing they offered me was to not charge me for the gas I didn't refill. What a joke. I filed a complaint with enterprise, two different ladies said they would be in touch with me within 5 business days. Well, that has passed and not a single phone call. This is the last time I use enterprise... read more

Fast and friendly service. Painless. informative staff. I mean Ive been at rental places for long waits and bad service before. When you rent a car you just want to land and start your vacation or business or return and get to airport to get home quick. we waited for the shuttle less than 5 minutes, They process your order quickly through a touch screen POS system. Very easy and they guide you through it. Then heading to your car the staff has tablets to process your order quickly and if you want to make any last minute changes. Good stuff. We usually rent a car from Enterprise when we need a car. Their service is consistent and good so far everywhere in the US for us. Lihue Enterprise, you take a Shuttle to the office to pick up a car and return the car to the office, get a shuttle back to the airport. Operation has been pretty smooth and efficient. To get out of the Enterprise parking, you get a token to open the gate. Kind of cute. Renting a car is usually really expensive in Hawaii anywhere. YELP 365 - 324/365 read more

More like 3.5 stars. Not rounding up because of the ginormous bird poop (about the size of the grapefruit) on the window that greeted me upon entering the mini van. Anyway, we grabbed our luggage and exited the the airport, to check in at the Enterprise window. The Enterprise mini bus took us to the office where we sat around and waited for a long time. There was 1 person greeting/checking in (again) and 2 people bringing the cars up and signing off the paperwork. We waited for a good 25 minutes before we were called to our mini van. The inside of our mini van was really dirty. I guess they don't vacuum or wash the outside before sending it out with the next family. Generally speaking, the staff had that "Aloha spirit," and thanked us for our patience. Bringing back the car was easy. Just dropped it off, they handed us the receipt, and we hopped on the Enterprise mini bus to the airport. read more

Everyone here is very nice, helpful, and cheerful - especially Ocean, who helped us through our reservation! They're switching to an automated check-in service, so it was a little awkward with three Enterprise employees all at the counter who didn't have much to do because they were obligated (I'm guessing) to show customers this self check-in process. They definitely helped when we had a question, but clearly this system is eventually meant to replace them (sad face..) and let customers completely check-in on their own. read more

Another great rental experience at the Lihue Airport Enterprise. The shuttle arrived at the pickup within 5 minutes or so. The driver was friendly. Once dropped off at the location, we were checked in quickly and taken to our rental - an SVU which was clean and new (2018). We had been hoping for something with a sunroof, but apparently there was nothing available.. no biggie. The car worked great all week. Drop off was a breeze. We opted not to fuel up and pay the fee, which I would not recommend as it is quite a bit more expensive than fueling up yourself. On another note. Recently Hawaiian Airlines partnered with another car rental company offering deals to Hawaiian Airlines members. We were tempted by this deal and had considered changing over for future rentals. However, we were so impressed with Enterprise and their decision to cut their discounts offered to NRA members, that we have decided to stay.
