I used to love Enterprise until I rented from this location. Rental experience was smooth as they had a car for me when I landed and was able to get going immediately. 1 star review because after I returned the car the location didn't process the return accurately. Rented for 2 days and was charged for almost a month. Received a call 2 weeks after when I returned my car asking how long I intended on keeping the rental for. When I told the representative the car had already been returned 2 weeks ago he said sorry and everything was closed out. I've had to call the location over 20 times to get this sorted out. The representatives are nice but there isn't too much follow-up. On top of that just received a toll fee for this rental and the location cannot help as tolls are processed by a third party. Horrible experience and it's painful that the location won't help resolve a toll as the car was being driven by another customer. Will I rent from enterprise again? Sure but be warned about this location. read more

Top notch service given! Hyannis is a terrific location for me to pick up but my car had to go in for repair so they made arrangements to pick me up. A member of my family, who has rented several times from this facility, was just denied service. He was told that on this visit - contrary to all previous visits - that he would need THREE forms of residence proof to use his debit card to pay for the rental. He called me and I offered him one of my credit cards to use and the woman behind the country replied (while laughing at him!!) "I am not going to take a credit card over the phone! Anything else?" (I heard the comment) Do not ever rent from this location! At least one of the people behind the desk - she said she was the manager - is blatantly rude and condescending. As someone who runs a business with more than 200 employees all over the country, ENTERPRISE has forever lost my corporate business as well as personal business. "Anything else?!?!" While I do not fault the local staff for this, I am updating my Yelp review of Enterprise Rent-A-Car as a company. Upon returning my recent rental, it was determined that there were a few scratches on the passenger side rear door... I did not notice these due to road salt on the vehicle when I was picked up. Shame on me for not taking photos. I took photos after, and I'm not sure I agree with how much Enterprise wants to bill me for the scratches.... we're up to $1500 now. According to their body shop, fixing scratches on a door involves taking the tailgate apart, and something about metal fabrication, etc.... I asked corporate to review the claim, since they were charging me for repairs above and beyond what my rental agreement claims that I'm responsible for. Also, repairs were made that are not consistent with the repair of clear-coat scratches. (You know, the ones that were hidden under road salt.) The woman I unfortunately had to deal with at their "Damage Recovery Unit" has worse listening skills than a three year old and couldn't stop over-talking me, wouldn't listen to anything I said, and seemed to lack any basic common sense. Instead of even considering that I might have a point, she attempted to feed me some unbelievable bull about how the body shop needed to repair the tailgate to blend the paint on the door. In the end, I could not get anyone to listen to reason, and politely told her to pound sand. (That was our first phone call.... subsequent phone calls have just gotten progressively worse, with the latest degenerating to me shouting like a DI on Parris Island and her hanging up...again) Since they've submitted a claim against my insurance, I've instructed my insurance company not to pay the claim. If they somehow manage to get their money from Liberty Mutual, I'll be dumping them as well (after 20 years of business). I will not accept a company like this working the system and cheating me, just because they can. I am perfectly reasonable, and would certainly have covered a reasonable repair cost of the scratches. This is all I asked for. Many times. Instead, you've wasted my time, my wife's time, my insurance companies time.... and you've pissed off the wrong Marine. Instead of being reasonable, and getting your damages covered, you've decided to be greedy and try to cheat me like a criminal cheats the elderly. So much for customer retention. You've lost my business for good. Furthermore, I will be sure to let everyone that has Internet know about the scams you people pull just to earn a few extra dollars. I've rented from this office maybe half a dozen times, and each time has been a total nightmare. From losing reservations altogether, to renting a reserved vehicle to a walk-in five minutes before I arrived (early, not as if I'd been late and they gave up), to trying to charge late fees on a vehicle that was returned on time when they didn't bother to process the paperwork for two days... the staff are intellectually lazy at best. Their favorite excuses are, "you didn't make the reservation early enough" (even with two weeks' notice), "we don't have that kind of vehicle" (even when they've rented one just weeks prior AND can arrange to get vehicles from other Enterprise offices), "the computer inventory is wrong (as if they couldn't update or fix it), and, "oh, yeah, we confirmed with you but we don't ever actually look at what was being reserved." The wait on the phone or in person is never under half an hour, even during the slow seasons. The last time I was there they overcharged a 93 year old lady by $200 and refused to help her when she said she was confused about where the extra fees came from (they upsold a protection policy to her without telling her the cost and then wouldn't undo it when she asked them to). I've given them lots of chances because every business has bad days or bad employees, but this place is consistently the most frustrating thing I encounter all year. Take my advice: go to the Orleans branch if you must use Enterprise, but avoid this place at all costs. read more

I had a great experience with Enterprise Rent-A-Car! Jon was a SO helpful. The first car I had was from Canada with kilometers on the speedometer and broken a/c. When I called Jon said if I had called earlier he would have brought me another car. Instead he waived the fee for gas and upgraded the car! Because I had to have a ride to Falmouth the drop off charge was waived! I couldn't have been happier with the awesome customer service I received from Enterprise! Jon deserves a raise!! read more

This branch is awful! I normally rent from the Orleans branch and I have never had an issue. They closed the Orleans branch because of COVID-19 so I had to deal with the Hyannis branch for my rental. Worst customer service! When I returned the vehicle, my deposit was never returned. I got 2 different stories when I called and questioned where my deposit was. Then they changed the rate of the vehicle the last 10 days I had it(after I already had it for 2 months at a cheaper rate). Nobody from the branch called to inform me of the rate increase. When I questioned why wasn't I called, I was told "oh you should of been, I'm not sure why nobody called you". So after speaking to 2 employees that told me two different things, I was told the "manager" Jasmine would call me. I spoke with Jasmine(manager at the Hyannis branch). She was not very helpful and seem to care less about my issues. But she reassured me she would speak to her boss and call me back to try to resolve my problem. That was 3 weeks ago, she NEVER called me back! Nice manager! After no call from management(or anyone) at Enterprise. I called the customer service line and explained to them what had happened and said I would like my deposit back ASAP! I was told my complaints would go to corporate and someone would get back to me. That was over a week ago, nobody from corporate got back to me either. What a crappy way to treat loyal customers! I will never rent from this company again. Absolute worst experience that I've had with customer service. My husband rented a car from a location in Boston. When he picked it up after work it was late, dark outside, and pouring rain. Needless to say, they were about to close so the employee who was supposed to do the "walk" around the car didn't actually walk around the car and inspect it. Even if he did, nothing would have been visible considering the rain and darkness. Now we went to Hyannis to return the car and that's where it all went downhill. They said there was a blemish on the car, which we actually couldn't even see at first until we put our fingers up to the car and felt it for ourselves. We argued that it could've been there when we picked up the car. They disagreed and said it couldn't have been because a walk was done before he picked it up. WRONG. So we receive a lovely 600 dollar bill. My husband called multiple times, has left voicemails and emails. No response. No emails, no phone calls back, nothing... So today we get a bill saying that if we do not pay in full within 10 days then they are contacting his insurance. This is absurd to me considering he can't even get a courtesy phone call or email back! Overall, NEVER rent from enterprise.. save your money and rent through somewhere that actually cares about their customers and doesn't rip them off. We have rented from enterprise EVERY single time we have rented a car and I can promise that we will NEVER ever rent from them again and will advise everyone else not to as well. I'm a Platinum Enterprise Member & like other reviewers I used to love Enterprise and this office in particular. My wife and I travel for work and we have two distinct selling "seasons." So we would rent two cars for three months at a time, twice a year... there have been some years where I've spent $20K+ with Enterprise. When Patrick ran this location I would make a phone call and he would give me a fabulous rate, the cars would be clean, low mileage cars & the oil would be changed. Over the last 10 years it's gotten worse and worse and the great service, cars, & attention has completely evaporated. I can't describe the level of frustration that I've gone through with this location and the airport location... case in point. Renting a car from Hyannis Enterprise has been so unpredictable that I bought a car just for business last year... surely they staff will find one car for me. Yesterday I had a reservation for a Premium car. What cost $800 a few years ago per month is now $1200 to $1600. I called before my pick up time to find out what car they had for me - which was nothing & I was told that I would get a call back... I never did. I put in another reservation for today & called near the pick up time again - the staff "Stephanie" couldn't tell me what would be available for me & after 10 years of renting from this store, they wouldn't come pick me up... which they always have. I reached out to the manager for some help & he never got back to me. It's not worth it any more. read more

Calling corporate office, also received no help due to booking on a third party site. Having some parameters in place to prevent booking when there aren't any vehicles available seems like an obvious function, but maybe that is too advanced for this particular company. Would not rent again from this location. Made an appointment online to rent a vehicle, was quoted around $75. When I arrived, somehow it went up to $200. They didn't have the model I booked at the airport so the guy had to take me to their sister location down the way. No where in that interaction or ride did he mention about a $200 additional hold for security which I had to sign for and put up when all said and done. Felt bait and switched a bit. When I told him I didn't see anything about it when I made the reservation, he told me it should have been there. The car window motor failed me at one of the toll stops on my way to Jersey airport, I had to get out on the highway in the rain with cars wizzing by to psychically pull up the window myself. Made the company aware of this and nothing was done about it, not even a response. From all the reviews I read here now I'm just lucky I got my deposit back. I rented a car from Enterprise last weekend specifically because a friend told me that they would pick me up from the Nantucket fast ferry, which is a huge benefit when you're coming off the island dragging a ton of bags. I booked online first from the Enterprise location at the airport a few weeks in advance. On July 10th, I happened to be at the Barnstable airport, so I went to the desk and said I had booked a car for July 24, and could I arrange to have a pick up from the ferry at that time. The girl at the counter explained that only the location on Iyannough Road did ferry pick-ups, because they have more staff, so she would switch my reservation to that location and gave me a number to call when my ferry docked on the 24th. Being a little concerned, on the morning of July 24th, I called Enterprise to confirm my reservation and again ask about the ferry pick up. The guy I spoke with could not find my reservation, and for some reason had no access to the records from the airport (why they can't see each other's systems, I have no idea). I said that I had booked three weeks earlier, the girl at the airport was supposed to switch me over to his location. He took my number and said he would find out and call me back. He did call back 15 minutes later and said that the airport had found my reservation, and kicked it over to him. I don't understand why this didn't happen when I went to the airport in person, and was a little upset because if I hadn't checked, I would have been stranded. Also, he said that they wouldn't arrange the pick-up in advance, but I should call when I docked- which again seems silly to me, if I could tell him the scheduled time I was arriving. I knew traffic would be bad on a Friday night in Hyannis, so I called Enterprise 10 minutes before the ferry docked to request a pick-up, thinking that they would be pulling in right as I get off the boat. The nice girl I spoke with said they would be right over and to look for a black minivan. So, I get off the boat...and I wait...and I wait.... 30 minutes later, I really had to go to the bathroom, so I decided to chance it and run into the Steamship terminal, lugging all my bags. Naturally, the mini-van from Enterprise showed up during the 3-minute window that I was in the bathroom. As I was leaving the terminal, I saw the mini-van from Enterprise, exiting the Steamship parking lot. I ran after it screaming "HEY, WAIT" towing all my bags and generally looking like a crazy person. But did the van stop? No, it drove away. The next thing I do is call the Iyannough Road location again. Again the girl I spoke to was very nice and apologetic, and said that they would send someone else to get me. So, the waiting game begins again. Another 25 minutes later the same guy comes back in the same van to get me. He even said "oh, I saw you running after me before, but my van was totally full of other pick-ups, so I didn't have room for you". Um, ok, so could you have stopped and told me that, or better yet, when all these people are calling for pick-ups, can't the company figure out how many vans they will need so nobody gets stranded?? So ridiculous, I could have lugged all my bags back and forth to the Thrifty Car Rental at the Hy-Line 10 times by then, and wish I would have rented with them, I had a long drive ahead of me and now I was starting off over an hour late, and was also the ONLY person left at the Steamship. But that's not the end! When I finally got to the Iyannough Road location, I explained to the girl at the counter that I would return the car on Sunday, and get a ferry back to Nantucket. She smiled and gave me my car, and was again very pleasant. So, on Sunday, I left Western Mass an hour earlier than I normally do, knowing that I have to plan to get to Enterprise and then possibly wait to get a ride down to the boat. I get back to the Iyannough Road location, and guess what? They're closed on fricking Sundays. Don't you think someone could have mentioned that when I was picking up my car, knowing that I had come from the ferry? Huh? So, I have to call a cab, and pay for it to take me over to a bank because I didn't plan for that and don't have any cash, and then there's no Bank of America nearby, so I get hit with fees from that bank and from my bank for using a non-BofA ATM. In the end, I got to the boat on time. But there is no way it was worth all the hassle to rent with Enterprise for the one-way extremely late pick-up, and unexpected costs. Next time, I'll stick with Thrifty, at least then I know what I'm dealing with! read more

I was very pleased with my experience here. The customer service was great! I was acknowledged very quickly, they had my car ready an hour before my reservation time after I showed up early and they drove me back to my car at the garage when my transaction was over. The place was very busy and the hyannis team didn't even break a sweat. Treated each and every one if us as if we were special. I don't think i saw anyone leave without a smile on their faces. The car wasn't ready, they sold me insurance I didn't need, didn't tell me they would charge me $150 to vacuum dog hair from my car & hung up on the phone with me when I asked about it. My husband was in an accident, leaving his paralyzed from the torso down. I live on an island and have to go off to see him. I requires me to rent a van so that when I do see him we can fit his wheelchair in the car. This past weekend, I did this. I was not told (and it was in fine print... I'm sure) that if you have a dog... who is not crated - because you normally crate a service dog? and the dog sheds, then you will be charged a $150 fee. Well, I was. When I asked about it, I was provided hands down the most RUDE feedback about how there was hair everywhere and when I told them I was never informed and would have gone out of my way to take care of it, I was hung up on. I didn't complain when you were late with my car at pick up - while you were off picking up random people from locations in the car I RENTED... leaving me with a 1/4 tank of gas when I start my journey. I paid for the refill, but what does that matter, when you only start with a 1/4, I didn't know that prior to signing up for that either. These people won't pick you up at the airport, because of the agreement with the cab companies, leaving me and my two children to walk with our luggage from the airport on a busy road. I had to do this because the cab companies that they had an agreement with couldn't pick me up for 45 minutes. So much for the company that will "pick you up". I have spent over $1000 with this company in two weeks and was provided NOTHING but rudeness. I sincerely hope that one of them realizes that MAYBE they should look into what's going on rather than joking and having a great time behind their desk. I CANNOT fathom treating human beings like this. NEVER go there, you will get charged with hidden fees, you can wait on them - but they most certainly will not go out of their way for you. read more

This Enterprise location (Barnstable/Iyannough and Airport) are so incredibly unreliable and unprofessional that I would give them zero stars if I could. After TWO occasions of them giving my car away (after orally confirming reservation on the phone), they did it for a third time. After walking from the ferry, in the heat, with luggage while pregnant we were told by the Enterprise Employee there is nothing she can do, but put us on a waitlist. This is the same employee I spoke with on the phone the day prior and CONFIRMED the reservation. She said their policy is to only wait one hour before giving away your car. I asked her where it said that in writing, she said it was not in writing. Her unprofessionalism was something I have never seen before - she didn't even offer recommendations for other car services in the area or assist us with calling a car and point us in the direction of a company that would help. She just stood there repeating there is no car for us. The most infuriating feeling is dealing with incompetency and unprofessionalism. Don't use Enterprise. There are other car rental companies at the airport such as Budget which we are now going to (no thanks to the lady at Enterprise). read more

I had to have work done on my car, so I got a rental through Enterprise Rent-A-Car. They were recommended to me by the Auto Shop and also several friends. Renting was fast and easy! Even though my insurance was covering this expense, I did have to put an authorization hold on my credit card. I had the pleasure of driving a zippy little 2008 Toyota Yaris for the week. Nothing compares to my Toyota Corolla, but I was very happy they were able to accommodate me with a similar car. Returning the car was also very easy and I got a ride back to the Auto Shop at no extra cost. I'll definitely think of Enterprise if I ever need use of a rental car again. read more

I reserved the car over the Internet and picked it up that afternoon. The paperwork I printed out didn't reflect a AAA discount I was told I would get, but when I insisted at the counter, they relented and gave it to me anyway. I put 2,600 miles on a Nissan Altima that week for $185. I doesn't get more economical than that, and the Altima was great to drive. It had excellent acceleration, handling, and 38 mpg highway. Most importantly, it had leg room for all 6'5" of me. Checking in was easy and checking out was even easier with friendly and courteous staff - an all round excellent experience. read more

This is an absolute sham of an organization. Provided false information about what exactly my insurance covered in order to hoodwink me into paying for basic coverage from them. Currently waiting to even get someone to call me back to resolve the issue. Furthermore, I placed my reservation two days before needing the vehicle, and reserved a sedan. Reservation was either not noted or ignored entirely, and I was forced into a poor mileage SUV that I absolutely abhor as a vehicle. (2010 Chevy Equinox). My mom is visiting me from South Carolina. She was going to rent a car from enterprise while she stayed here so I called and reserved a car for her. The original time that they were supposed to pick us up was 1:00 pm, but then they changed it to 3:00 pm. This wasn't really an issue, just a minor annoyance. I called them at 2:30 to confirm that we were ready for pickup and they told me that the driver was on his way. We went down to the hotel lobby to wait for him at 3:00 so that he wouldn't have to wait for us. By 3:20, we were a little annoyed that he wasn't there yet so I called and asked if he was actually on his way or if he was stuck with another customer, but they assured me that he left enterprise to pick us up at 2:30 and that he should be here any minute and then they hung up on me. At 2:45, my mother and I were still waiting in the lobby so I called again. I asked where he was because I was told several times that he was en route to our location and it did NOT take more than 15 minutes to drive from Iannough to North street. The guy that answered just said "he will be there any minute" and hung up on me without even checking where the guy was or apologizing for him being late. By 4:00 we decided that we no longer wanted to use enterprise because of the lack of communication and the fact that we didn't want to get our car at the start of rush hour traffic and as it started getting dark. It would not have been an issue if they would have told us that our driver was busy with something or stuck in traffic, but they lied and said that he would be there any second and hung up. Terrible service and always mess up or screw something up .. Was good first couple of times but as of late it's been awful . Never any cars available and over pricing cars . Also they leave early from the shift at the airport was left stranded with out a car they where suppose to be there untill 5pm I got off the plane at 4-415 from Nantucket and there was no one there was basically left stranded and was suppose to be with family and friends ended up wasting flight money and also wasting money for a hotel in Hyannis read more

We had a generally very good experience with this agency. They picked us up very quickly at the Hyannis Transportation Center in a minivan, which was good since we had a lot of suitcases. I was surprised that the older gentleman driver did not help my young-adult son struggle to wrestle a large suitcase into the third row seats, but we let that pass. Car was nice (Hyundai Sonata, I think they upgraded us.) On returning, the young man who checked me in did not seem to be enjoying his job very much, but I did greatly appreciate that he gave us more than the official "grace time" and did not charge us for an extra hour. For that reason alone, I would definitely rent here again. It's a good operation. read more

I had another good experience with my most recent rental but have a couple of small complaints. My request was for an intermediate size and the agent took me outside and started showing me various cars to choose from (they were all very dirty, by the way). I picked one and she did not mention until we got back inside that it would be an upgrade for an additional $12. So, back outside we went to make another selection in the class I had requested. This all required extra time. Also, Enterprise does not usually rent their cars with a full gas tank, making it more difficult to fuel up only to the previous level (pump, check the gauge, pump more, check the gauge, etc.) before returning the car. read more

We haven't used Enterprise for a while. We usually go with Thrifty only because of its convinient location to the boat from Nantucket to Hyannis. We were traveling on busy weekend spontaneously, and our normal Rent- A- Car company didn't have available cars. We went with Enterprise at 332 Iyannough Rd that offered an economy class car at a way cheaper rate. We got a great deal. The service was really outstanding. Check-in was so quick and everyone was so nice and friendly That is really helpful when you travel with a 3 year old child. They even drove a car closer to the front door for us. The next day, manger called us just to check if everything was fine. I would highly recommend using Enterprise at 332 Iyannough Rd. read more

This review is to recognize one of your employees , Tomecka Francis. My husband and two children were headed to Brazil for vacation in March and our flight was cancelled due to a snowstorm. After working all day and then learning our flight for the following day was already cancelled, we were able to find one last minute flight late that night, out of a different airport, which was further and no one was available to drive us. We rushed around after work to rent a vehicle, and after going to a couple different rental places with no vehicles available, we went to Enterprise on Iyannough road, with no luck also. My husband went alone to this one, and a woman told him he could not rent a vehicle because he has an out of state license and was using a debit card, not a credit card. Even after explaining that we spoke to someone over the phone from their place that said just bring in the airline itinerary and we can rent it with an out of state license. When my husband got there, it was a different story. Not only was he told he cannot rent a vehicle, but this woman was very, very rude. We decided to check the rental places at the airport and we tried the Enterprise there, just to make sure that is the rule. We were greeted by Tomecka Francis, who literally went above and beyond for us from start to finish. She checked with a "higher up" and confirmed that indeed the rules had recently changed and we can indeed rent a vehicle from them without a Mass. drivers license. We rented the vehicle and she even told us for all of our inconvenience we do not need to bring the vehicle back with gas.
