Absolute garbage. They don't even really have parking spaces for customers in their parking lot…read more They don't keep their building clean, but expect the cars to be just about spotless when returned. Their policies are created to screw you over. We rented a car cause our car broke down and was being fixed. They typed in my number wrong to call me to tell me they wouldn't have the car we reserved so I didn't get the call. They then forced us to pay more money because they only had a more expensive car, didn't even offer the upgrade for free or a discount for the inconvenience or really much of an apology. The car had issues while we were driving it that we had spend money to maintain while we had it. We called about returning it early cause we fixed our car situation several days earlier than expected and they tried to change our return time from 12 to 11 and charge us an extra day if we couldn't get it in by 11. They also charged us way more for the daily rate cause we returned it early (like $50+ a day) and didn't end up needing it for a whole week. Also, they never told us the new actual daily price and everytime we talked to them it was inconsistent. Returning it on Sunday was $201, returning it Monday was $231, but then returning it Tuesday was $313. Absolute dishonest bullcrap. They then tried to charge us $80+ cause there was dirt on the outside of the car which then made my husband late for work and me late for an important appointment because he had to take it to a car wash and pay even more money (money was tight because they put a $150 extra hold on our account on top of the actual rate to rent the car) to get it washed ourselves. He also mentioned that he gets payed more for charging the cleaning fee as it costs less than that, but he pockets the extra money. Also, even though average gas prices are $3-4 they charge $10 a gallon minimum if you don't bring it back fully filled so make sure you fill it up right before bringing back. Not worth it, pay a little more to go to a place you can trust who gives reliable cars and don't hide extra fees and charge you for every little thing or scam you into paying more than you agree to when making the reservation. We had to use Enterprise a few years ago after our car was in the shop cause of an accident and they were much more upfront about everything and much more honest and personable. It was worth paying a little more upfront. I'd rather have a slightly higher upfront cost that I can properly plan and budget for than budget for what I'm told and then have to somehow magically come up with extra money several times after agreeing on a price. They really do like to find any little escuse to charge you more and take money from your security deposit.

I contacted the Brighton location (as that was where it was due to be returned), who said they were not responsible for helping me. I got through to roadside assistance who jump started the car, but within the hour it had failed again. More time on the phone to get a tow truck out. Belle Tire tested the battery but said it wasn't damaged so they knew Hertz wouldn't let them replace it. Why didn't Hertz offer to swap it for another car at this point? The day I was to return the car, the battery died again. I rang roadside assistance and told them to tow the car to the Brighton location as that was supposed to be the drop off point. Within the hour I received an irate phone call from Hertz at Brighton wanting to know why I had sent them a dead car. 'Yes. Inconvenient isn't it?' I replied. I let the guy know that I was unhappy about the car and wanted a refund. His words were ' yeah, that's not going to happen, why do you think this is our responsibility? And why didn't you contact us in advance about the faulty car?' Listen mate, my call log shows exactly how many times I called your location's number. It just links back to the automated system, and then the AI bot Hayley, and finally to you, who abnegated responsibility time and again. I thought Hertz was a reliable company with reliable vehicles. I was wrong.

As a government employee with 25+ years of public service and a business owner, I know what professional, respectful customer service looks like -- and this location delivers the exact opposite. Because I don't use a credit card, I've been treated with disrespect and condescension here multiple times. On one prior rental attempt, I used a company discount code without credentials in hand, and instead of handling it professionally, staff treated me as if I was being dishonest -- which was insulting and completely untrue. Ever since, every interaction at this location has made me feel looked down upon. The final straw came with my most recent rental (Record: H43482880, Vehicle: 2025 KIA Soul). I rented on August 14, 2025 and returned the car the next day, August 15, 2025 at 1:38 PM. The office was closed with only a sign saying staff were "in the field," so I followed instructions and left the key. To this day, I have received no receipt, no call, no acknowledgment of my return. This is not just bad service -- it's negligence. If a company can't manage something as basic as processing a return and issuing a receipt, then it shouldn't be in business. Hertz's lack of accountability, poor record-keeping, and dismissive staff behavior show a complete disregard for customers. I will never rent from Hertz again, and I plan to share this experience with my network of over 4,000 followers so others know how this company treats paying customers. Do yourself a favor -- avoid this location, avoid this company. Respect and professionalism are not optional in customer service, and Hertz failed at every step.

She said she just wasn't ready and didn't seem like she was excited to be there. We'll what child is excited when all I hear is that the course is boring, uncomfortable and the teacher is rude. There there to learn and some kids get nervous. She never contacted me before hand to let me know she was struggling. Just sent back little notes with scribbles and check marks from 1 to 3.. When I finally did talk to her after finding out she was kicked out she talked so fast and seemed to be so stressed or whatever it was I could hardly say anything back. Just not a experience for my daughters first time learning to drive. Definitely reconsider before going here!!

But both kids learned or are learning what they need to. The teacher has great stories that are also lessons about driving. She also provides lots of drive times and is out with kids right before her classes. So those that complain about kids being left out in the cold, or having to wait. Maybe talk to your kids, review the information provided and don't be so judgmental. She knows what she is talking about and could probably teach all of us drivers something we didn't already know.
